Maul is one of my favourite characters, a tragic villian. You feel sympathy for him. He is used by everyone (Palpatine, Mother Talsin, even Ashoka) for their own goals. He finds peace of sorts in Ben's arms when he dies, knowing Luke will extract vengeance for everyone, even him. He has a redemption arc of sorts without ever really leaving the dark side.

Maul is one of the strongest force wielders in the galaxy, even after losing his legs. After losing to obi wan he actually got stronger because of his hatred which fueled his connection to the dark side. In the final episode of the clone wars he rips through entire platoons of clones without even using a lightsaber and completely tears down the hyperdrive room of a republic cruiser. Being able to manipulate objects that big is a feat even greater than palpatine throwing podiums around in the senate hall. Simply put, maul is cracked.

Loved his ending with Obi-Wan. Those two have so much history together. And even though he was killed by Obi-Wan, I don't think Maul would of accepted his own death if it was from anyone else. And to hear his final words with Obi-Wan really gets you in the feels. I dont know, it just felt right to me.

No one ever talks about the fact that when TPM first hit, a tie-in novel of Sith poetry written by Maul was released. For all their dark ways, the Sith placed great importance in the Arts.

He should have been all three movies. Anakin vs Maul. Dual lightsabers vs double light saber. “Now strike him down and take his place by my side.” Dooku was unnecessary.

obi wan constantly made me think of maul, like "grand inquisitor= revenge and hatdred and provide you with will to live, don't you agree" and then there's obi wan, being surprised about vader living.....being cut up, obi never learns, also-first time obi meets maul again fire separates em, gets help from a seppie traitor, and barely ends up escaping, to only end up huntin maul down to finish it once and for all, lot of patterns yeahh?? faces vader 3 times faces maul 3 times, want know what happen to maul mando legs tho, he seem to have lost em by time solo comes around- which is same time as obi wan, solo- holo maul/obi wan- force ghost gui gon (but not forgotten), another one

There's a dude here on YT, I gotta look up his name--- banditIncorporated... he did what so many have done, a prequel "rewrite," and it is VASTLY different from what we got, and as such not for everyone. I fpr one thought the story was PHENOMENAL. I was totally taken in by it along with some clearly "never intended to be NOT CHEESY" motion comic (IF that lol) stuff that really brought it to life. While Palps is still Big Poppa Bad, Maul and Talon are a big part of the story as well... if you're open to a more or less completely different take on eps 1-3, I'll be editing this comment soon enough and adding the channel name, and the name of the fan fic below here... There's also Thor Skywalker's first fan fiction, DARK VENGEANCE..its basically a long story (or id say a movie trilogy) of What if Maul killed Obi-Wan in Twin Suns? (Hint, he finds Luke!) I think this one is just him reading his adaptation (no voice acting), and just some still shots like you'd see in any other YT video, but if u have a long drive or able to just zone out and really into a story that features Maul and goes further, as well as going in a very different direction for the original trilogy a la good ol fan fic, that's another good one

You mentioned a non-canonical death of Maul by Owen, but somehow missed one more Maul’s “canonical” (actually it was Legends, but at least Legends were canon and Visions weren’t) death after his resurrection in 0 BBY, when he was killed by Vader. As for me, I still consider it as canon because it’s quite possible, as Maul’s death in Rebels happens in 2 BBY and the comic book which describes Maul’s duel with Vader happens in 0 BBY

Malachor V....the planet you are actually referring to...isn't the birthplace of any battle or war! It was the planet where an Ancient Sith weapon that was capable of destroying planets called The Mass Shadow Generator was destroyed during The Mandalorian Wars' final battle 1000s of years before Episode 1! As a result this planet is full of Dark Side Energy and creatures which Sidious would have had Maul kill as a test.

In the Legends novel Darth plagueis, maul's mother found sidious and insisted he take him If I recall she even said he would be better with you than the faith and stored for him where I am from... Could be wrong but I think that in Legends talzah was not his mother

Maul was cut in half by Obi-Wan. He has spider-like mechanical legs. Then he has two mechanical legs. Finally, he has two normal looking legs when Obi-Wan kills him. Where did he get normal looking legs - cloning? Maul is a very interesting character; but his mode of transportation, too me, ruins his character growth.

I think they were upgraded droid-like legs. Similar to C-3PO, but with full stregth and movement. As advanced as the droids are, I could never understand why 3PO can't walk better and even run? (Besides the fact Anthony Daniels would have hurt himself if he tried!)

he was given upgrades after his battle with Obi-Wan and Ventress on the priate world Florum. He and savage opress escaped and were found by the deathwatch and Pre Vizsla. they were both treated for their wounds after the battle on Concordia which is what lead to Maul taking over the deathwatch and thus begins the process of the seige of mandalor

Actually, the Old Wounds comic isn’t canon even for Legends continuity, as Visionaries were considered non-canon even then. It’s just a fun cool story to read. Actual final death of Maul in Legends continuity happened in a comic named Resurrection, in the ninth issue of Star Wars Tales. It tells us that after his death at some point, in 0 BBY Maul gets resurrected by a cult named Prophets of the Dark Side, which believed Maul was a better apprentice for Sidious and wanted him to kill Maul. Unfortunately for me, as for Maul’s fan, in the end Vader kills Maul for the last time, but at least Maul left Vader hardly injured at the end of their battle so that was not a flawless victory
