Dry brushing is when you apply paint to your brush and rub or flick it over fabric to remove most of its liquid properties so you’re left with just paint pigments on your brush this allows you to flick your brush over raised areas on a model and leave the paint on the highest edges pretty much the opposite of a wash
@RustbeltCollector

Yeah, I misspoke when I said I dry brushed the cape lol! I did a wash on the cape, not a dry brushing.

Most Helmets slant in. Mine did. Also, the left paldron fell off right out of the Package. Right Butterfly joint as well as the Left Knee was frozen with glue from the factory. Returned to Amazon. I will only get another if Figuarts decides to make the character. Which probably wont happen.

That really sucks!! I’ve heard of some pretty bad factory errors, but so far all my figures have been okay. I picked up a second one from GameStop and the helmet was perfect, nice sharp edges and it looks great! No other issues either. If Figuarts does get it, that would be pretty awesome though!!

Typically the paint will chip off unless you seal the paint. I didn't seal this figure since I just used a wash on it. To seal a figure after painting you can use a flat or matte clear coat/lacquer to keep the paint from chipping.

@RustbeltCollector
@RustbeltCollector 4 жыл бұрын
Try the boil-and-pop method! You can find good videos on it here on youtube, but basically you heat up some water, soak the part you want to pop off from the figure and then pull it out and pop it off. the heat from the water softens the plastic enough to let it pop off easily. I hope that helps!

Its kinda a mixed bag because oil takes forever to dry. So you can cover large parts of a figure or model at once then wipe away. However with that means you need to wait for the oil to dry properly when you have the figure where you want it before you can do other things with it.

Quick, informative, and great video, but absolutely horrid auto zooming and camera work. Try and get a fixed distance that your camera zooms and then work around that distance, rather than have the camera constantly auto zooming on the background.
@RustbeltCollector
@RustbeltCollector 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm glad the video was helpful and I appreciate the critique! The camera doesn't auto-zoom, but it can't focus super close-up so I zoomed it in between takes to get a close-up view of some of the smaller things I was working on (drilling the hole, the magnets, etc). In the future I will keep that in mind though and try to make it more enjoyable to watch!

Well, like most things, that is subjective. I can fully understand that one may not find my method of customization unappealing to them, and to that I say to each their own! I always encourage customizers to find their own style and taste in such things. But what I cannot understand is why anyone who doesn't like it would feel the need to comment about it. If you or anyone else doesn't like what I did to customize this figure, by all means offer constructive criticism, I am always open improving my creative work. But if you have nothing to add except a rude comment....well...to that I say, move along, friend. And I hope that in future you find a better way to present your opinions to others in a way that uplifts instead of adding nothing to the conversation. MTFBWY
