What a great looking model. I have a brother who has been building models most of his life, but there is a key difference between him and me. He builds models from kits bought in stores, while I build mainly my own designs, from whatever material I have handy, just like you did here. And I have a lot of respect for your model building dude. There is something very rewarding about it, when you manage to get it done in the end. Awesome work!

Might i suggest something? You could download the Papercraft one and print it out bigger, then glue the print outs on to foam board for the Hull and the tower and engine sections on to poster board(why the hell, didn't I think of this earlier LMAO) then cut and glue it together.you could even make one like this bigger than mine and put LEDs on the engines and make it look even better! and you can send me pictures later when you make it 😃

Felipe Gomez well I would do that but unfortunately I am not very skilled in that kind of stuff or I would try to get even the premade models but a combination of I'm to critical of my work and precision and I'm not very good at presicon or art so I just keep my eye open for anything in my budget

@Felipe Gomez Wanting to make a Imperial Light Cruiser out of Polystyrene. My issue is getting the dimensions and shapes correct. Are there any resources or tips to get accurate measurements? Tried finding 3d models but no luck because it is a less popular ship. Any help would be appreciated.
@felipegomez67295 жыл бұрын
Hey,Preston I built the VICTORIUS using the revell 12 in model and pics as reference and back then there were no papercraft models or anything of the sort,where you can now just,blow it up to whatever size you want.so,I "Eyed" mine out. I wanted it,7ft long (it's how I started with)then,I just began to distribute the width and height. I know that,theres a "Formula" out there that would give you the accurate dimensions,buy I was never good with numbers,so I "Eye"my models out. My suggestion;..pick the size for easier scale,draw it out roughly on paper and start from there.write down your measurements. I always start from the center and work my way out. and be patient! It took me about 21/2 years to build mine,..lot's of trial and error,as this was my first big sized model
@Prest0n975 жыл бұрын
@@felipegomez6729 Thank you! Considering there is very little material to go off of for this design I will have to do the same as you. dont even think they have a model for my ship to base it off of so pics will have to do. I will probably shoot for 3 to 3 1/2 ft long. not go too big starting. Here is a decent accurate model to what I am wanting to do. www.cgtrader(dot)com/3d-models/space/spaceship/star-wars-galactic-empire-arquitens-class-light-cruiser Make sure to replace the (dot) with . not sure if youtube will remove links.

@@Prest0n97 that's a great size,..not too small a9not too big and njce enough to add great details to. Yes,unfortunately there isn't enough info on certain ships that look cool and would look awesome physically and even better with LEDs & Fibers.
