It really seems like whoevers making these doesn't realize Star Wars actually used to be a well made world full of diversity. It didn't matter what kind of character, creature, species they were, they found great ways to convey artistic depictions of the Human condition. Creative ways that connected us all on a deeper level. We used to have such creative ways to convey emotions. To give the audience feelings without overly explaining it. I really miss that. If you go back and watch "X-Men the animated series" It is so well crafted. The story of mutants was so universally relatable. Media back then found ways to abstractly teach me life lessons, touched on difficult situations, found intelligent ways to tell stories. Even when I watched it all grown up it really felt like the story is so well crafted and executed that anyone is able to relate to it in someway or another. It's stuff like that that we are so deeply lacking nowadays. So much so that literal kid's cartoons from the 90's told deeper and more mature stories than most media nowadays.

Its a common Fantasy type name. It sounds "exotic" but still easy to pronounce. Remember osha in Game of Thrones? Theon's sister's name in the books was Asha as well. For the Black Character, it also is similar to O'Shea, a black name (ice cube's real name)

I get the feeling that Headland was abused horribly by Weinstein and she thought to herself "It's all worth it because one day this will all be mine". But instead of seeking therapy, she takes it out on Star Wars. Destroying the "man" side of things, making the force "female", alienating the original fan base and essentially removing all canon content. She probably feels this is the only thing she has control over.
