At least 3 of the main cast are LGBTQ+. They gave a transwoman one of the witch roles. The showrunner is gay. I think one of the other writers or directors is documented as a bisexual LGBTQ activist. There could be others. Not all have bios. Given that pretty much everyone is at least one category of diverse, it seems like you can't claim that you didn't notice and that you weren't making a point. But you could explain those roles as throwing roles to a bunch of people she knew. If she didn't know what she was doing, then you've got accusations of bias and cronyism. But then you'd still have the problem of that interview. If disney had her talk to marketing people, they would presumably have told her how to present the story. From a discipline perspective, if they didn't want to sell it on those terms, all she had to do was not give them the quotes. Being as fair as possible, I'd assume they would argue that some representation is normal. But is huge amounts a sign of the driving motivation being fidelity to star wars? If you manage to shrug off everything else, then that interview gave people something to point at. If you watch actors, their interviews are often just repeating the same phrases over and over again. So when Ziegler interviews turned into a trainwreck, there's an argument it was because she was faithfully reciting talking points. So, here, with that one interview, you have the question of whether Headland was saying things that were approved or whether there was a marketing team thinking "SHE SAID WHAT?!"

Teh weird personality shifts could be due to them sharing a single soul that's stuck with a good and bad side because that's... just how the conjoined soul thing works. When the two sides fight for control, weird erratic things happen. They're not really separate personalities, so they sometimes swap motives. Thus, for the end of ep 5... you could have had it completely swap personalities with Mae in Osha's body. BUt... that's me thinking up a better idea than this one.

The trouble is, Gundos artist (making basically everything except the vtube model) has been supporting Gundam working for free. So they tried to compromise and apparently gave her like the majority profits from merch sales. And after quality content she started getting mad that Pesc came in and made quality content with Gundo and it blew up. Apparently she's upset Gundo didn't go to her to make a show together. And she started getting super unprofessional in personal dms with Pesc about business, and Gundo told Pesc to 'handle her with kid gloves'. Basically she could get mad and try to take all Gundos art back, or ask for money for it. And also apparently Gundo was unhappy with quality content, despite them getting banger numbers and constantly growing/making money. Apparently he would constantly compare numbers to FNT. So essentially Gundo said Quality Content is over and didn't even want to do a farewell. And cut ties with Pesc for the artist. (THIS IS ALL 2ND HAND WORD FROM PESC FROM HIS CHANNEL'S 2ND STREAM. He's is much more eloquent and specific. He showed only specific crazy dms from the artist.) One of my favorite films of all time had a budget of like 30,000USD (so maybe 50k in today's money.) That film is "PI", and was directed, produced and mostly financed by Darren Aronofsky, and his crew/friends/family. That film launched his career. And I think all of his films are atleast cool, if not absolutely excellent. So if you do want to create a movie...it is possible. Just write the screenplay in a way that special fx are uneccessary and set design is cheap and awesome looking. Then film alot of it guerilla style? Idk. That is even easier now, because film is unnecessary and you can just shoot digital. Film and non-digital editing was a huge cost for movies created in the pre-digital era. Sometimes half the budget.

In the "Duel Of The Fates," fight scene, all of the fighting was in well lighted areas with no obstructions, yet was choreographed so well that it keeps the audience invested. That they said this fight scene was BETTER than the DOTF scene is indicative of their willingness to lie about their objectively inferior (to say the LEAST about how awful it is) results, and deserves to be exposed. 🙂

@@the-trustees Fully agree with you. Regarding what they said on their fight scene being as good if not better than Dual of the Fates, I wonder if they lied or if they are that badly disconnected from reality and genuinely expected people to love it. They are so bad in so many ways that it becomes hard to tell with time, years ago I would had more easily answered that, these days, its hard to tell if they are trying to grift or are just delusional!

There is a tv show with Jean Claude van Damm that sadly only got one season. (Jean Claude van Johnson). Mild spoiler: he makes fun of most of the movies he was in, and one joke is about how the "baddies" only ever attack one at a time lol. Funny show, honestly. Worth a watch if you havent seen it. It is almost as good as Bloodsport and Timecop. And definitely better than Looper. The female lead is awesome, the supporting cast is hilarious and the writing is clever af. And the fight scenes are comedy + skills. One of my favorite jokes is in the first episode. He has coconut water for all of his tap water in his mansion. That is such a stupid yet effective joke.

He should because identical twins and even clones look very different from each other in the Force. That was established in the first episode of TCW. Sailor Moon is very progressive, but, in the 200 episodes of the anime, I didn't see Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune screaming that they were lesbians. Their love was portrayed through their actions and words. They didn't even need a kiss scene to show the audience that they love each other. In The Acolyte, even the actresses need to point out that their characters have a thing for each other, in case it wasn't clear enough. Naoko Takeuchi's approach to a lesbian romance is subtle yet powerful. Leslye Headland approached lesbian love with the all the subtlety and finesse of a sledgehammer.

@@piranhapout I heard about it from Jose, and it sounded interesting. I'll give it a chance at some point in time, but I want to see other Gundam shows first, mainly the original and Gundam Wing. Even if Mercury isn't well written, I can trust the Japanese to write better characters than what's being made in America right now, especially when it comes to people (or species) with different sexualities. At least the story and characters come first in anime, sexuality comes second.
