Great job as always. I'm building this same model this week and I really like how your diarama turned out. So I think I will give making a diarmrona a try. Wish me luck 🤞

You did a fine job on this model as you always do, nice work! What is remarkable to me is the ease of making the base more attractive. I have always been kind of apprehensive about doing a base like this, but seeing how much yours adds to the over all effect makes me think of the forest on the moon of Endor. Really nice base! I may give this a go. Thanks for make me these videos, and please keep them coming.

Thank you John! I enjoyed making the base as much as the model. It's really not hard and it's up to you how you want it to look, I used rocks and sticks from my yard..lol. Appreciate the support!

Nice looking model and diorama. Just a little secret to share. When I used to do model railroad layouts years ago, doing ground cover like the grasses and even the ballast or little stones and all, we didn't glue anything down as you might have some loose stuff that would come off and leave a bare spot. The technique that we used was to put down our different layers of ground cover and lightly misted it with water, then the next layer and so on. Once we had all of our different layers down and we're satisfied with it, we took a spray bottle with 2 parts white glue (elmers),one part water, and a few drops of dish washing detergent, spray the entire area. This would hold everything in place, the detergent would help everything soak through all the layers of ground cover and when dry, there would be no chance of loose material falling off, and it would still look realistic and dimensional with everything bonded in place. We could cover large areas very quickly like this. Just a different method of doing ground cover for dioramas.

Bandai Star Wars kits are, for me just as addicting as their Space Battleship Yamato kits. I can't get enough!

I'm a big fan of both. They were a big part of my childhood.

The washes you're using can damage bandai plastic. That maybe why you are finding those parts breaking.

Yes, I've learned not to use enamel thinner on Bandai kits.

Nice work. A word of warning. Bandiai’s plastic has been known to have a bad reaction to enamel thinners. Which may explain why you’re getting cracks on your model.

I think the AT-ST is one of the Bandai kits that react/crack with certain paints and thinners it was a pretty big topic when it first came out, so it was most likely the paint or thinners that cracked it, not you. www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=262106

That must be it. I used oil paints and enamel thinner. Thanks for the article.
