I'm in the middle of a custom build right now. I've added heavier guns to the chin, scratch built Gatling laser pods in place of the original weapons, and a commander's cupola from a 1:48 Panther tank w/ a heavy repeating blaster on the ring mount on top. I'm also adding some heavier armor around the cockpit. She's going to be painted in a camo of Ghost Grey overlaid by German Grey tiger stripes, with a snarling mouth & 4 eyes. I even have some Aurebesh (Star Wars alphabet) decals to spell out her name: "Bad Kitty". I plan to add an armored glass effect in each of the 2 cockpit windows. I still need to get a 1:48 Stormtrooper to stand in the commander's cupola.

Great build and video a usual. I'm currently building this kit and it's also my first Bandai. I'm very impressed with the quality of the mouldings and the thought put into the sprue connection positions - very little clean up required. I'm building a 'what if' scene with the addition of a 1/48 WWII German Maintenance Crew. I've replaced the laser cannons with a 7.5cm gun and scribed additional panel lines with bolt heads added... I wish Bandai made military models. 😅

You probably know this by now but the reason every part has a ‘locator tab’ is because the kit is designed to be snap-fit. Those tabs are actually supposed to hold the kit together through friction. Anyways, awesome build. If you liked the level of detail Bandai put into this kit, then I recommend checking out their Gundam kits (Particularly the RG and MG Lines).
@lpjmodels2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words JC885, 😀 I'm not really into gundam unfortunately. I see some great ones built but never had the urge to make one. There seems to be a lot more rules with bandai kits than my usual niche which is a bit surprising, the glue thing seems hotly contested. I'm still going to use glue on any future kits tho.
@Jc885002 жыл бұрын
@@lpjmodels Ah, okay. You’re free to do whatever you want. Though I still hope you check it out one day. You know, in the Gunpla community, we have a saying: ‘Gunpla is freedom’ basically build what you want, the way you want to do it. If you want to use glue, then fine, no one’s going to stop you. Just be sure to keep it out of moving parts! (Which there are a lot of in Gundam kits btw).
