It was actually insane seeing both points of view from Palpatines Speech. The Senators point of view, the ones who put him I power, to the army of the Republic that kept him in power by annihilating the Jedi. I get shivers everytime I see this scene because it shows just how fucked everybody was whether they knew it or not. Palpatine was the only one who won, and he did it by taking control of the entire galaxy. Kaminoans are weeks to months from annihilation. Clones are going to be replaced. Padme is going to die. Anakin is going to become a machine. The banking clans are all gonna die. The senators will become useless. Ahsoka will never return to the life and people she once knew. Obi-wan...that shits just depressing. The man literally played everybody. How tf do you play an entire galaxy like that.
@thatjedifromgallifrey66633 жыл бұрын
That's what makes Palpatine the most frightening villian in my eyes. He doesn't win because he's powerful, or because he has good weapons. Sure, he is powerful and he does have those things, but we see him wield his lightsaber once in the whole saga. He uses his lightning more but it's still brief. Palpatine does all the things he does simply by knowing how to speak. How to manipulate people. He managed to turn someone like Anakin, someone so kind and compassionate into a figure synonymous with evil, who marched into a temple and slaughtered children because he was told to. Anakin, who always questioned orders, followed Order 66 with no hesitation. That aspect alone is terrifying enough.

Having rewatched clone wars and getting my heart broken after seeing anakin’s slow turn again made me rewatch revenge of the Sith and it had so much more weight to anakin’s tragic story. Then I rewatched the final fight of Kenobi and broke my heart even further with that masterpiece right there. It broke me seeing iwan and Hayden’s performances. So good in all the most heart breaking ways. Now having come from that, giving the bad batch another go. I actually give it way more leeway having seen all that again back to back. It’s amazing how excellent story telling this chapter in Star Wars is. So much to dissect just from this order 66 to empire transition. The bad batch is super corny sometimes and you can say what you want about the young clone with them (personally I don’t find her nearly as annoying as half the cast of the sequels. If you look at it that way she’s a great character in comparison. Plus Disney’s always gotta find a way to market to kids). I think this dysfunctional and goofy clone unit 99 actually makes for a nice contrast to a very dark chapter of Star Wars without sacrificing all the darkness and fear regarding the galaxy and the new transition to the reign of the empire. It’s dark enough that can feel it ooooze into the world but when it becomes too dark you get a dorky filler episode where they’re stranded on a planet again. Just like clone wars. And if you look at filler episodes as just that, filler. They’re not so bad. They’re enough to keep me entertained until the real plot darkens and that’s what grips you into the bad batch. I agree it will never be as good as clone wars and unfortunately that’s because the man who started it all and made clone wars has moved on (well the big boss obviously. George. thank god for Dave Filoni for taking his knowledge from working with George and putting more content for the fans out). So when the creator moves on it will never be the same. But if we get more stuff like season 7 of clone wars and the bad batch. I’m totally cool rocking with these shows that have amazing and brilliant moments in between a whole bunch of Disney dorky energy. I think in terms of animated Star Wars. I’d say the bad batch is more meant for older kids and can be enjoyed by adults. Rebels is definitely made for kids

“I wonder what life’s going to turn me into this time, Jake? What are you doing, I just had my adonkin epiphany. “I know, I’m just coming back for fun, because it’s great being alive with you” “Haha, Good reason” *Fist bump* - Jake and Finn.

Interesting. . .When Tech says, “still don’t think the regs are programmed?” I noticed a few Clone troopers in the background standing still, looking at their brothers whilst they cheered. I kinda feel like Dave Feloni is setting up some sort of clone rebellion.

I'd like to see them bring out more media showing the different reactions of the people of the Galaxy to Palpatine's Declaration of New Order.

It’s not on Clone Wars’ level, but it’s still a great show.

Amazing show. It's as good as TCW

Rebels was good but very watered down compared Clone Wars. Especially seasons 1-5 which were the best. I didn’t always appreciate the childish humor. On the other hand, Rebels dove deeper into the Force than Clone Wars ever did. It was cool to see more of its inner workings and how it influences everything.

That Bad Batch parallel with the rebuttals to Palpatine's speech was perfectly timed! "Still don't think the Regs are programmed?" "So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause."

If they’re not willing to redo the entire prequel trilogy Clone Wars style, they should at least animate all of the scenes involving the rescue of Palpatine, it would be so cool to see more of this
@viceadmiralrampart3213 жыл бұрын
OMG. YES. Windu and Palpatine fighting would look so cool in clone wars animation.

Palpatine really got that dawg in him. Boy used every opportunity at hand. Really passed off darkside corruption as scarring from an assassination attempt. Sheeesh

Another suggestion for this video: Caleb sensing the clones firing on Billaba is a shot-for-shot replica of Kanan seeing flames burst from the fuel depot before he dies. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmnNan6GntOjgdk See the camera push in as he looks over his right shoulder? Filoni is a genius.
