The NT242 is definitely the best and my favorite but the A280 with burst fire is also a good option for players wanting to stay close to med range and is a lot more forgiving if you don't have good aim

Disclaimer to all console players: unless using the disruption shot, steer clear of the NT-242 in close range...unless your aim is god tier, you'll suffer from the slow fire rate and mad recoil. Azzatru plays on PC where aiming seems to be a little bit easier as you are able to recover much more quickly and effectively...in my experience the NT up close is a great way to get yourself killed...the disruption gives it slight AOE, which can be used up close, but if you aren't using it then there's no point because unless you hit your opponent in the head, by the time you've fired off two shots you will have been killed. The A280-CFE is much more effective in close range. Take my opinion with a grain of salt, but i feel like on console the experience is much more difficult and diverse (for example, in close range the stealth star card is more useful than marksman etc.)

Sometimes star cards are better in certain game modes. Marksman is a lot more useful in bigger game modes and less useful in Blast.

It definitely seems like we have a harder time on console, maybe the reason you see so few specialists. I think that's why I prefer the IQA11, you can miss shots and still kill before the enemy has much time to react, and if you are accurate a body shot followed up by a head shot is practically an instant kill anyway

The specialist is so versatile, there are so many gizmos you can use for a different play style. I’ve been trying the pulse cannon the last few days and it’s so gimmicky I’m having a lot of fun!

I like to use the stealth star card, you have such an advantage at melee fights as well as killing/mega damaging heroes from behind before they can react

A really good combo is stealth with personalshield. If somebody sneaked up on u and surprises u u just activate shield and with melee them to death. As 3 card i would use marksman

Disruptor shot on the NT is a hidden gem, retains the 2 shot body shot 1 shot head shot kills, has explosive radius and kills a speeder in 2 shots. Devastates objectives too.

Another good card to try is the stealth card, apart from wiping you from enemy scanners whilst shooting your weapon, it also buff your melee damage. If the stealth card is maxed out, then you could two shot enemies with just you fists

You could use the disruptor shot on the NT and shoot the ground near people and deal splash damage to them. I switch it out with the duel zoom sometimes on smaller maps to switch it up.

I’m in console, so aiming is kinda difficult so usually I use the a280cfe with burst instead on maps like the Death Star, stage 2 naboo etc, but nt242 is great on Crait, hoth etc. Only other thing is that I always use the personal shield

Sniper Main here. Best sniper in my opinion is the NT-242. Disruptor shot and improved cooling. This gun is a monster two hits all infantry except heavy eho needs 3 hits at max health. It melts all vehicles and annoying shields. And goes through lightsabers :) This gun is amazeballs

Just a headset up, resourceful card doesn’t actually affect the thermal binoculars at all. It’s either a bug or oversight. My guess is that the game doesn’t think it’s an actual ability because it never actually goes on cooldown (the binoculars will have a recalibrating cooldown before you can spot again) but the actual ability will never go on cooldown and can still be used to look around after spotting players

A280 CFE dual zoom burst mode Stealth, hardened infiltration and personal shield

For a close range, flanking loadout: A280-CFE, Dual Zoom and Burst Fire attachments Marksman, Hardened Infiltration, and Survivalist The A280-CFE can one shot any trooper in one burst of headshots. It shoots much faster and is easier to no-scope with than the NT-242 Marksman allows more shots, making fighting groups of enemies much easier. Hardened Infiltration increases damage output and speed, reveals enemies on the radar, and reduces damage taken. This allows the specialist to be tanky and offensive, and makes flanks easier since you will know exactly where everyone is. The Survivalist card increases the already fast health regen of the Specialist, allowing you to duck in and out of cover and even recover to full health in the middle of firefights, essentially doubling your health in many situations. This Specialist loadout is a lot more versatile than the Assault's close range loadout, allowing efficacy at all range, not just short to medium range.

NT is great (on mouse), but what I think is really the best it would probably be the A280(burst), in my opinion your able to get more kills with it, and it is far more versatile, having the ability to be used at close, medium and far range, and one of the few blaster's you can peak fire with.

I play PS4 and tbh I have found that since you can’t get the same accuracy as Keyboard and mouse the A280-CFE as it is sort of a spammy AR sniper (as in it works for both long range and short) other than that I more or less agree with the cards (but I prefer the personal shield over the binoculars)

I can consistently place top 3 by playing like the spy from tf2. Using brawler, stealth and hardened infiltration. You can one-shot all troopers with a backstab or head-stab, as well as kill any reckless heroes or villains in a couple of lives.

Personally I use the class set up: “stealth”, “brawler”, “personal shield”. And I just run around killing people with the specialists melee (because of the “stealth” star card it does 125 damage to troopers and heroes). But I only use it because I’m generally good at using the melee in games like this (eg: cod, bfv and this game) so it’s something I personally use but I haven’t seen anyone else using it throughout my bf2 career even though I’ve been playing since 2017 lol. Interesting. I main the specialist (level 804) but play completely differently. I mainly use the A280-CFE with hardened infiltration, bodyguard and survivalist. I basically play it as the assault class, but with better middle and right abilities and a worse grenade. Hardened infiltration is such a strong card, it has a short cooldown, lasts a good while, has damage reduction, reveals enemies, does a lot of damage, improves sprint speed. The aggressive specialist is very slept on in this game. I do enjoy playing at range too, but use the IQA11 instead of the NT242, and when I do use the NT242 I take disruptor shot. The IQA11 seems to be universally regarded as bad, but not having to lead shots is such a game changer and the fire rate and damage are enough that, even though it can't OHK, it kills almost instantaneously anyway.

A really good combo is personal shield with stealth. When u get surprised u can pop the shield and even if u cant shoot while having shield on u can melee and regenerate while in shield. With stealth u make massive damage on close range. Its such a good combo u should try it. As 3 card i would use marksman
