Ok, I'm convinced. 60fps looks better than 45 even if it's not consistently maintaining constant performance. I'll be recording all of my Elite Squadron gameplay at this frame rate from now on. Just figured out I wasn't running my CPU on turbo mode. Might gain a more 60fps once I start recording again.

Which emulator are you using to play this? This game was my favorite of the Battlefront series and I would love to play it in 60 fps

Try PPSSPP. There are pirated downloads for the game, but I would prefer using a PSP, adding Homebrew to it, and making/extracting your own digital copies of the game. There are tons of tutorials and how to do it on KZbin, and you can get tons of old PSP games used really cheap on Amazon. Most of the time, the discs are brand new.

Meh, I personally like the controls, but the fact that you can't kneel and aim kinda hurts; still not too bad for PSP with not having R2/L2 buttons though.
