While I was building the Droid Probe, one thing that crossed my mind was... what happens to the droid after they finish their probing? Their transport vehicle crashes into the surface so they have no way of getting back so, does the Empire come and retrieve them? Let me know what you think happens.

They might be retrieved, or they might just transmit the data and have some kind of self-destruct feature built in. That way, no one can get their hands on any Imperial tech.

I think that those droids are "one-way droids" and a retrival of them is not in the plan.

That really turned out great, I think the Probe Droid is a bit overlooked as far as cool Star Wars droids are concerned. It has that predatory insect look.

Just a few added thoughts. I would have added more blocks of snow (height) to the base. Like stalagmites and made one as the wiring conduit and stand. It would hide it. But your painting skills and adding the led are brilliant. Gorgeous model. Thanks for the tutorial.

To save time next time for an antenna with a ball on top you can use a fabric pin that comes with a plastic ball on top. At least here I can get them with different sized balls on top and bring a pin makes it a bit easier to get into a model. Love the videos.

I would make a diorama box, then position the wiring rod to be on backside of droids head instead of going downwards to make it look more like it's floating on its own, You could then blend the rod to be same white color as the diorama background of snowy hills of Hoth to hide it even more. Just and idea.......

I hate to tell you that the actual probe droid miniatures body is actually bronze colored, but the full size probe prop was all flat black, nice build tho.

In the movie it has a blue tint to it. I stuck with that though I have seen it with a brown colour cast.
