@@TheSmugglersRoom if you’re looking for some room props to make it just a little more Star Warsy, I’d suggest looking into restaurant food grade barrels! Most places just throw them away after they’re empty and they’ve been used in countless sets in the original trilogy and in animation! The place I work let me have one for free and it’s a perfect addition to give that “in universe” feel :)
@RDGoodner3 жыл бұрын
I love the in-universe implication created by the real-world re-use of that prop. The cantina owner who hates droids salvaged an assassin droid head and used it as some kind of piece of bar equipment. Almost any encounter you could have with an assassin droid would probably justify quite a bit of anti-droid bigotry. (Not to mention he's likely a veteran of the Clone Wars...)

If you are having problems with your beer, it’s because once the beer leaves the kegerator it’s cooling down. So we run beer lines with a cooling line. This cooling line is called the glycol line, which is nothing more that a chilled environmentally friendly antifreeze. And yes there is a glycol unit that chills this liquid, but for a home application you might try a 5 gallon bucket with a pump in the kegerator to try to help with the foaming beer problem. I hope this help!

Love the collaboration. I have used the Van Oaks site for Halloween inspired designs and actual theater set designs. I have learned a lot from the smugglers room too. How do you keep the paint on the PVC from getting scratched off? Most items I have built I am constantly touching up because the surfaces are soo smooth. I feel like sanding them to rough them up is too visible through the paint.
@TheSmugglersRoom3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Bradley! He certainly has some great tips for haunted and Halloween themes. You are right, PVC is definitely tricky. I didn’t show it in the video, but I do two things to “help” with the chipping; 1. I go over the surface with a 3m scotch brite pad. It roughens the surface without really scratching it like sandpaper does. 2. I seal the paint job afterwards, in this case I used Rustoleum Clear sealer with a satin finish. That builds up a bit of a hard shell. Even with both of these there is a chance of scratching, but they really help, and it lasts a lot longer. Hope that helps.

Love the channel and the passion. I have to say I was a bit disappointed that with the access to 3D printers you didn't make your own "plumbing fittings" to match up with the PVC pipe. Said differently, a toilet flange screams "Hey look, I'm a toilet flange" and there is no way to get around it UNLESS - may I suggest... You 3D print a Skirt or other greeblie to hide this well known fitting. I would strongly consider 3D rinting additional greeblies to conceal the sewer pipe look the off the shelf fittings give to this feature of your cantina. Not much work more and it could look great instead of neat. I know you have it in ya! Nonetheless I did enjoy the project.
