Considering the price, it’s definitely a miss!!! I certainly hope you kept that protective tape on the exposed bolts when you tried the helmet on?!? You wouldn’t want to damage your noggin! 🤣😂👍🏽

The packaging is just as important as the product, no excuse for just sticking it in a shopping bag. For the price I would expect some foam padding also. Nice helmet & great vid as usual buddy 👍

Hmmmm ya know what Paul, I hate been critical of anything my friends buy with their hard earned cash, but my honest opinion dude is, I think you’ve been more than reasonable in your assessment of that helmet. Communication fine, if you say that’s been good then no problem, however, shipped in a god damn carrier bag!!!!! No no no!!! $450!!! And shipped in a CARRIER BAG!! how it wasn’t damaged I’ll never know. And finally, I know we both love our helmets, and my budget is far more modest than yours so my expectations have to be lower for what I’m paying, but $450 and decals are coming off when you rub them, iffy paint finish, over spray in areas, trim coming away, and bear screws inside the helmet covered with tape!!! I’ll say it again $450!!!!!! Paul you are such a nice guy! I think you’ve been very kind!!!. I’m so sorry to be so negative in this comment, I’m actually annoyed for you . If I didn't, you would not be one of the few people that I trust and respect. Regardless of whether or not we have met personally. And I wholeheartedly agree with you. "Disappointment" is an understatement to describe what I am experiencing here and I appreciate the frank, direct and honest opinion of thirdd party. It's always difficult to know if you are being too nice or too harsh when you spend your own money, so you rely on your friends. Especially your friends who know what they are talking about because they are fellow, educated, helmet collectors. That is an EXCELLENT way to put that, SteveO! "The Galactic Star Cruiser" of helmets. Great, for a LOT LESS money, but not at this price point. It was hard for me to be as honest as I could because I'm always such an optimist with these custom made products. But, doggonit, it just isn't good for $470. Great honest review Paul!! I'm surprised by the paint finish and peeling decals but most of all those bolts and nuts above your head could cause harm! Looks great on display but just doesn't seem to have the quality of other helmets you've shown. Might be worth a call with the creator - and who packs a helmet in a carrier bag!!! Ah man, I can feel some of your disappointment in this video 👍

From afar looks like a nice display piece. Doubt I would use it in any cosplay. That price seems pretty steep for the way they packaged it. Plus the paint/decals coming off or oversprayed. definitely doesn't have any other use then shelf life. You would think with the money spent they could have put a different liner/padding instead of blue tape. I think I would have returned it and wait for a better one to come along.

All good points, Michael. For sure. At best, this will simply go n=behind glass for people to glance at quickly in a collection of helmets. Any close scrutiny will certainly reveal its flaws. I think if I spent £100 on a black series helmet and saw only half of these problems then I would be very unhappy. So you have spent $470 on this! I would be sending it straight back!!!!

That's a very good point, Mark. The worst Black Series helmet I have is still better than this one, and those are only 1/4 the cost. I'm so disappointed as I was very excited to get a Carson Teva helmet. But ended up with.... this. Ugh. Thanks for checking out the video!

Like the video, I have to say I am not sure I would pay the $470 for the quality of that helmet. However I think I will look good on display but with the up close review you did you see all the imperfections. I will say it looked absolutely awesome when you put it on tho. Keep up the good work.

Excellent points, sir. With just a passing glance, or while in motion, it's a passable looking helmet. But, as you say, definitely $470 worth of craftsmanship here. I appreciate the positivity. Sucks that the helmet didn't come out so great....the design is a really nice helmet. Not putting foam over the screws inside the helmet is a big miss. That being said, I'm still guessing this time next year you're going to have a Rebel/Republic/(Dare I say Resistance) helmet collection to rival your Imperial collection. Better breakout that spare Detolf! 😁

Paul... 🤦‍♂️ there are so many issues here, the first one being the grading system, at the start you're talking numerical and you give communication a 10 but then out of nowhere we're using letters and you give the packing a C- ... how can we follow along with such chaos 🤣🤣🤣 But serious, mate, this was frustrating to watch, you paid good money for this and whislt I actually think it looks great from a distance, the packing was embarrassing and the finer details seem to have been overlooked. Thanks, Christian. And yeah, I do tend to be a little flighty with my grading system, but you must admit, you get the point. And you are very correct. This purchase was a bit of a disappointment. I could never do anything with this helmet besides store it behind glass for visitors to admire with a passing glance. It is substandard. Oddly, this had more of an effect on me than any of my other previous disappointments in collecting and it has been comforting to hear similar assessments from the likes of you and Luke Reynolds. If you wanted a quality and wearable helmet replica, honestly you should have gone with DarthHair or DH-P/FX. I bought a helmet from them in 2020 that had my own design on it and its fantastic and still is 2+ years later. And you can comfortably wear it for hours. Weathering is nice too.

Very good and honest review but i personaly would've waited for the black series one i mean they have the mold they just have to repaint it plus its cheaper and better quality this one just has a hard hat and cheap construction but from a distance i imagine it looks good.

I see your point, Luis, and that is very good advice. I jumped on this one, though, for a couple of reasons. I wanted to honor the actor that plays the character, there is no guarantee Black Series will ever make one, and the shops was actually recommended to me by an acquaintance. That turned out to be a poor recommendation obviously. Plus, I always like to support the mom and pop shops when I can. I have had really good luck doing so, and only struck out a couple times, like happened here. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video!

That being said, it doesn't excuse the sub-par product you received, specially what you paid for. Apparently the Trapper Wolf helmets can be found at Ollie's for $29!

For the price paid, the quality should have been a lot better. $470 would be a very reasonable price if it wasn't for all the flaws. The packaging is shockingly bad. Any company that ships products should know to package better than that. I would try to return this or open a Paypal case.

doh! how unfortunate, helmet quality appears very low for that price point. i'm doubtful its even handmade especially with those decals and rubber edges popping off. if you got this from etsy, it mightof been one of those dropshippers who buy knockoffs and sell for high prices.

Horrible masking/tape job. It looks like they used spray paint and the plastic didn’t take the chemical well. They used a stock blue. Amateurs. The helmet is falling apart. They didn’t know what they were doing. I’d send it back. Sorry brother. Life lesson.

A C- for packing is waaay too high of a grade, I'd give that an F-. After spending all that money on the helmet, then they put it in a plastic grocery bag with basically no support, I'd be super pissed off. This looks like a middle school "art" project helmet, like what not to do. Sorry Paul, they totally screwed you over big time. Definitely a terrible company. I'm trying to be positive while watching this video, and this is as positive I can be.

Mitch, thank you so much. I'm glad you put it so succinctly. It broke my heart when I opened my $470 helmet and it was in a grocery bag with no padding. And then, to find that details had been overlooked that you expect to be perfect, if not reasonable at least, on a helmet of this expense, just really drove the nail home.
