Two London tips that I thought are important that weren't mentioned: firstly when at a station, particularly an underground station, stand on the right of the escalator, allowing others to walk up and down on the left. London folk aren't exactly nasty, but this is a sure-fire way to annoy people. Second is specific to the Star Wars Celebration weekend, prepare for a lot of places around London to be closed, particularly on the Sunday. Some places will close on the Bank holidays (so Friday and Monday) but a lot of places, shops in particular, are legally obliged to close on the Sunday. It's under the same rules that would normally limit the time a shop is open on a Sunday, and small places like corner shops are exempt, but there are literally two days of the year where an awful lot of places have to close by law, and that Sunday, Easter Sunday, is one of them.

For those heading to london for the first time, top tip is use public transport as much as possible. Taxis will be very slow due to awful traffic, especially on the Friday and Monday. The underground will be the fastest. You can just tap any card on the gate to get in, dont buy a physical ticket for public transport as this is more expensive than just tapping each time. Fastest line to the convention centre is the DLR (the cyan one) as the Elizabeth line is closed (the purple one)

One thing I would add is make sure you have a power plug convertor. UK sockets are different than US sockets.

The UK is unfortunately very much a whatever weather it wants to be type of place 😂 Could be a thunderstorm, could be snow, could be a heatwave. It's a crazy place. Also, haven't gotten far into the video yet but just wanted to say in case it's not covered, that a lot of shops will likely be shut on the Sunday, given that it's Easter. Big supermarket shops typically don't tend to open on Sundays so what I'm doing is grabbing some food from a corner shop for lunch that day. Unsure really how busy the food places in the ExCel centre will be, or if any will be shut.

Pack a power convertor/adoptor if you travel from abroad. It really helps. Also - Get an Oyster card for London transportation if youre airport transfer did not take you directly to the con/hotel. Also - Dont forget to spent some time in London city if youre not regular visitors. Its a lot of fun to take a day before or after the con and see thr city and even a musical or two. J.

Some places are cashless so have a debit/credit card. If you're coming to the UK from abroad notify your bank you are going abroad, so they don't put a stop on your card for 'suspicious activity'. Contactless payments are common so try to make sure that's set up and activated on cards/phones.

I have been to alot of comicons at the Excel before and I live in London so here are some of my Tips: There is virtually no worthwhile food in or around the Excel so definitely pack food with you or plan a long lunchtime. The closest tesco will sell out of Meal Deals real quick so go to one further out if you can! The Elizabeth line is closed during celebration, but the Excel is still accessible by the DLR. It does get confusing but i promise no one will judge you staring at the map trying ti make sense of it. You can use a contactless card or an oyster card to use the tube too! There is not actually alot of outside space at the excel, mainly the trees, steps and grass. Sometimes cons will open up empty halls, but idk if that will be the same for this con. The central boulevard of the excel gets really crowded, so be warned. And the tables fill up really quickly so you will most likely have to eat lunch on the floor somewhere. Its our con culture ahhah

I can't stay in London overnight, but only an hr away from home so a few long days ahead....Will want to warn you all that this will be Easter Weekend so some transport may be restricted on the Friday, Sunday and Monday as they are public holidays...however, transport is good with the Underground

I live in London...and I hv tickets for Fri and Sun. I watched your tips and tricks and I would say def bring warm clothes..UK weather is so unpredictable. The Venue is massive so yes there will be lots of walking. I was at the 2016 Celebration and the best tip I hv from that is arrive early..like very early. The queues are massive.

The weather is anyone's guess because we're being told were either going to have minus temperatures coming back OR over Easter weekend it's going to be like 20 degrees Celsius. Also heads up for staying hydrated, the excel site says that there are water dispensers aroun the place. Excel has convention's constantly so it's pretty well set up for them.

Gonna be watching the livestreams. Maybe there'll be something worthwhile. I fully expect to miss the first panels of the day, I'm really just hoping to get the making of Andor one and Doug Chiang's panel because that one is always incredible. I wouldn't mind if even during the week after Celebration as they upload things individually if they just posted panels with the secret stuff cut out. I understand that paying to be there means things should be more exclusive, and they never had to do livestreams in the first place, but since that had been the standing tradition, hopefully more gets shared this year. Or at least throw some stuff on Disney+ if they don't want it all to be free on KZbin, not that it would stop people for pirating things, but I'd enjoy that despite the fact I wouldn't be able to roll things back. We'll see how it goes.

Going to London was my 1st time out of the US, and I had no idea they had different electrical outlets, so unfortunately we ended buying expensive adapters from the hotel when we probably could've gotten them cheaper before we left the states.

I went to Celebration in London back in 2016 and have to say it was very very busy....a lot of busy but thankfully a lot is going on. Also I got a feeling the major panels will not be streamed live on KZbin....you will still the Live Celebration Stage a lot though and thats generally pretty decent.

If you are also struggling for places to stay Stratford is pretty much transport centre (sorry center) for east london & is on the dlr train line to the excel centre (sorry center)

I've booked a hotel in woolwich which is just across the river from the excel and only a single stop or so to get between there and the excel. Those coming in from abroad will probably be coming in from Heathrow or Gatwick. Gatwick express and Thameslink are the best way into london for Gatwick while with Heathrow the new Elizabeth line is a bit of a godsend being able to take you straight to the Excel centre (custom house stop) on a single line.

I live in London and this will be my first Star Wars Celebration and my first con since 2018. I had no idea they did a lottery system for panels so I’m bit bummed that I missed out on the possibility to go to Ahsoka but it does say that it’s going to stream to other stages, does that mean I’ll be able to still see the panel from a live stream on another stage? That said I’m not going to let it ruin my experience I’ll be there cosplaying as Han Solo which is a cosplay I’ve wanted to do for a while now so I’m looking forward to just experiencing everything I can! There is a pub outside Excel called The Fox and from previous London Comic Cons that is usually a great hang out spot to grab a drink and meet other cosplayers and fans so that might be worth a look while you are there

Do you think they are going to stream the big panels to the show floor? Or just to the other stages?

In the last years they didn't stream the big panels at all. They are usually extremely sectret, with trailers and clips from new shows that won't be shown to the general publich for many months. They only had a stream of the main stage for the whole day. But that stage was quite fun as well. They had lots of interviews with actors and directors and other creatives (like game designers) there, and that was also the place where Ahmed Best got a lot of love and applause from fans in 2019. The older streams might still be availabe on the Star Wars KZbin channel.

Top tip for London: always get a sandwich from Pret A Manger, they aren’t too expensive compared to other shops, they taste nice and are easily portable. There is also a Pret A Manger every 2 minutes in London 😂
