22:02 Alex, thank you so much for being the voice of all of us who can't make it to Celebration. Even though I am from Europe, I couldn't afford to go to London, and I couldn't even think about ever going to a US Celebration. Every Celebration I watch the entire stream live and every time I feel like poodoo when I realize that, oh, there was this amazing panel with the latest news and announcements or a new trailer, but I don't get to see it. They didn't even bother to recap on stream what happened at the Lucasfilm panel, they just started talking about it like everyone who watches was there. Nope, we didn't get to see it, folks, no idea what you're talking about! Had to Google it. We were watching interviews with people without any clue about who they are because we didn't get to see them presented on stage for the first time. It even got to a point where Jodie Turner-Smith was talking about her costume, assuming everyone saw the trailer, then realized most people in the audience didn't and was just like "oh...". Natasha wanted to talk about Sabine using *spoiler* in the panel exclusive trailer and then realized that "whoops, we actually can't talk about that". A friend of mine was attending the convention and actually saw less than me because she couldn't get into any panel but the one she won the lottery for! I understand the desire to give the people who actually spent their time and money to go to the convention something exclusive, I do. But why can't that be a poster or an autograph or something like that, why do we have to be reading descriptions of panels and be watching bootleg videos of the trailers? And I bet everyone that actually got to see the exclusive panels and footage would agree those should be shared with all fans. I breathe and live for Star Wars, why do I get less just because I can't afford to go?
@AddMiller221 Жыл бұрын
I had the same thoughts when watching the interviews. They were talking and asking questions about stuff 99% of people didn't see. I had to pause the stream to go search to see if I missed a trailer release, which I didn't. It made me realize the love stream was worthless and I stopped watching.
@notseb Жыл бұрын
I agree 100%! People who pay to go to the convention DO get something exclusive - they are THERE! I would totally pay for a streaming pass, even if it were delayed streaming. Come on SW, bring back streamed panels!!!

Q&A: Since we know that Yoda had stated in The Empire Strikes Back that he started teaching his first Padawans around 800 years ago that made him around 100 years old at that time and Grogu was still a baby when he was 50 years old. Do you think Yoda had started becoming a teacher when he was like a preteen child as a child teacher due to his species age slower than humans?
@jeffreycarman2185 Жыл бұрын
The Mandalorian season 1 is nine years after the battle of Yavin. Order 66 is 19 years BBY. So if Grogu is 50 at the beginning of The Mandalorian that makes Grogu about 22 years old at the time of Order 66. Yoda died during the events of Empire Strikes Back, which is three years ABY. So if he were literally 900 years old at the time of his death that would have made Yoda 877 at the time of Order 66 making Yoda 855 years old when Grogu was born.
@DigiPen92 Жыл бұрын
@@jeffreycarman2185 No, I wasn’t talking about the timeline happened in Order 66, I was talking about a question about what Yoda had stated in The Empire Strikes Back that he first teaching days was around 800 years ago on how Yoda be like back then as an Age Wise. Since IG-11 had stated to Din that Alien Species age differently to humans when Din saw Grogu for the first time that the Client refers to Grogu as 50 years old and Din saw Grogu as a young child. Since Yoda had stated he first became a teacher around 800 years ago that makes him around 100 years old, since Grogu’s introduction in The Mandalorian was a baby, I totally thinking of math wise calculating Yoda’s species comparing to Human Years. I totally think Yoda could possibly be around Pre-Teenager when he became a teacher back then since I think 50 years in Yoda’s species be possibly calculating around 1 human year of aging and Yoda had died around 900 years possibly made him around 90 human years by math aging wise.
@HermanoBatmano Жыл бұрын
I see what you’re getting at, I think. Really hard to say how rapidly that species matures. If Grogu is approximately 50 years old and appears similar to a human infant, it’s tough to say what doubling that age might look like and if say 50 Yoda species year is like 1 human year. Maybe in another 50 years, he’ll be like a 2 year old human child, and maybe he’d be a pre-teen as you suggest. 🤷♂️ It seems really disadvantageous for any species to have like a 400 year cycle to reach maturity.

@@DigiPen92I think he physically ages very slowly, but his mind ages at a normal or fast rate, so his body is his only limiting factor. We can already see that he can do flips and stuff like that, so I think he’ll soon be able to do a lot more. I also think that’s why yoga is so wise

This was my first celebration. I had a great time but I learnt a lot. First off, I got 2 panels on the smallest streaming stage, I still had a great time but I think if I didn't get those, my time would've been vastly different. I am aware of how lucky I got, however. Astonishingly enough, some of the panels that got livestreamed ended up not being streamed to the live stage, despite them recording intros to the panels at the live stage. I was super disappointed when the host asked us to go wild for the panel, then when the cameras were off, said 'were not streaming the panel, but stick around'. Additionally, I learnt quickly that if you're not a Jedi master, you're almost guaranteed to not get any exclusives because they (along with other exhibitors, it seems) will rinse stock and then sell it online for triple the price. And then there's the stalls themselves. I saw far too many stalls selling what I can only describe as 'tat' and you could point them out because the person manning the stall almost always looked bored out of their mind. It was like they had just bought a ton of Star Wars merch on the cheap and was looking to make profit. It just seemed a bit odd that I was unable to find any unique a quirky items, but if I wanted a Funko or Punisher t-shirt, I had multiple options. Lastly, I learnt I need to plan my day better and be a bit more careful with panel descriptions. There were two panels I attended in which the titles and descriptions did not match the content and I definitely felt my time would have been better spent queueing early for other bigger panels. I know I sound like I didn't enjoy it, but I genuinely did have a great time and am sad it's over. Some of the advice you gave around water, food and poster tubes was incredibly valuable. I wasn't prepared for the pricing of some things but I overall had a blast. If I do it again, I'll take what I've learnt and apply it but also, more importantly, I'll just loosen up and enjoy it more as a fan.

I used to get excited for Celebration because they streamed the panels. Last year I thought it was so ridiculous that they didn't do it and I honestly thought Disney would have learned from the backlash and brought it back this year...but nope. Like, I just want to see the panels, they can keep the teasers and footage for the people who are actually there, that's fine. But since there are people who literally go and don't even get in to see anything, streaming is the very least they could do.

This year's Celebration livestream game was much better than last year. Not as good as years past, but there were only two things that didn't get streamed that I was hoping for that were not, and I got a few others I was not expecting, but was delighted to see streamed. I never once expected the first panels of the day to be streamed, so I immediately wrote off the Lucasfilm Showcase and the Ahsoka Panel, but I was not expecting Bad Batch, so I was happy for that, even if it was really more just a retrospective than discussing Season 3. I wish that the Animation Game Night panel had been streamed, I love seeing the Clone Wars crew goofing around, but we had already gotten the 15 Year retrospective, so I'll take what I can get for free, I was satisfied with what we received at home, especially compared to last year. Now what they could do is take all their recordings of the panels that didn't make it and post them throughout the month following the actual event, that would actually be really cool, and if there is anything that is truly, truly exclusive they want saved for the people at the convention, then they can omit those portions in the edit, but after the convention, I see no reason to hide it away. I love seeing some of the old panels from Celebrations past on the Star Wars KZbin channel, and they could be doing the same right now with this year's Celebration. And if they still want to keep things exclusive at Star Wars Celebration, I think there's probably an app that can be created for those attending to stream any panel they desire while at the convention. So say that there's major panel that's listed they want to see, but can't because of limited space, they are hosting their own panel, or are helping out a friend, or even for people that act as media personnel, they can view panels and catch up on ones they couldn't see. It would be an exclusive thing only for the convention and only last during the days of it, and it would have to be linked to your ticket, but that certainly seems possible. Leave us moochers with the KZbin livestream in the dust, but don't deny the people going to the convention of getting to see what they would like to see if we have the technology to make it possible. But overall, news-wise, livestream-wise, it was a good year for Celebration.

For most unique cosplay, I saw an all-white concept art Boba Fett, an inflatable Jabba costume with a retractable head, a clone commando in Buzz Lightyear livery, and an IG assassin droid (made using a sandwich board, and tall hat, and lots of silver pen). Also, my cousin attended as a Sith version of Ursula from The Little Mermaid. For constructive criticism, I say that the Star Wars channel should stream and upload all the panels, not just stuff on the main stage. Also, I didn't think the audio was very clear in that room. Maybe it's better as you get closer to the stage, but I came into the room a few times and quickly left, because I figured there was no point in staying if I couldn't make out anything. I hope those trailers came with subtitles.

Need to limit ticket sales for each day at Tokyo, or have it more spread out. Sadly the more people who buy four day tickets could mean less for single days. But you can't really have shoulder to shoulder. And like you said, set up big screens in the centre so everyone there can watch the panels if they want to, and stream it. I don't think ticket sales for 2025 will be an issue. For Tokyo would be looking maybe just for one day. So much to see there, and not sure if I want to spend four days in a convention hall. So much good stuff to look forward to with Star Wars. Bring it on and serve it up!

It would make good business sense to me for Disney to stream the event with all the exclusive panels on Disney+. Then people that can afford to be there in person still get that experience, and the ones that can't should at least be able to find someone with a D+ sub so it still keeps it semi exclusive, plus they can be the first to drop the news instead of some bootleg video on some random page on the internet.

Q&A: do you think there is a reason why certain books from legends are being rebranded under the essential legends collection? I can’t help but feel that these particular stories are being used as resources for canon stories, with Lucasfilm basically saying “hey you liked that story? Well these are the books that inspired it.” Almost like how myths of King Arthur, Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table have inspired more modern fictional works in the form of movies and TV series. It probably isn’t but looking at several of the stories being released in the essential legends collection along with current and upcoming live action projects that seem to go pretty hand-in-hand, I think that that is pretty awesome. I apologise if my question didn’t make sense 😅

There was a running of the hoods on the Live stage at some point! In between interviews I believe, so not sure if it was live streamed

It was my first time at Celebration and yes truly an amazing experience! That being said - I totally agree with that it was very disorganized, especially if you didnt have a VIP pass. They actually didnt even check or scan our passes which I was shocked about. I felt like I could have just printed it off the internet and laminated it and no one would have known the difference. I was in the Andor panel and the RoTJ panel but other than that I didn't see any announcements because I was either in line for a panel/autograph/food/etc. Watched most of the big announcements on youtube with the rest of the world! Also was disappointed in the merch. I was looking for hours for some cool stuff for myself or to bring home for my kids and there really wasnt much outside of Funkos and collectibles. Would have been nice to have something like HerUniverse or Galaxy's Edge merch or like even cool kids clothes. I've heard the ones in the US are wayyyy more organized so cant wait to go again, this time with a better idea of what to expect.

Agree with the above. On the note of HerUniverse though; I believe the reason they weren't there was because of UK licencing issues (you can't order directly from them to the UK on a lot of their products). I do wonder if the relative 'smallness' of what was on sale/on display outside of the big panels was due to similar. I was surprised at how little there was

@eryckdraven3057 Yes, same here. I'm betting 2027 will be Anaheim or Orlando as it's A New Hope's 50th Anniversary. Already saving up!!

That’s been really my only issue with celebration recently, it feels rough when they claim the exclusive stuff is for the hardcore fans there when plenty of fans would go if they could afford it/get into the panels.

Hello, Star Wars Explained, I was wondering if you'd ever be willing to do a video discussing the Bendu and the Mortis Gods? Do you think there could be a connection between these beings, or if they know each other's existence? Or why the Jedi Temple depicted a display of the Ones? I'd be very interested in learning more about this topic.

Do you think the Zeffo and/or Rakata can show up in the Dawn of the Jedi movie ? And do you think we can see Captain Phasma in the Mandoverse ?

QnA questions: Do you think we could see Eli Vanto, Admiral Ar'Alan'i, and the rest of their crew in Ahsoka? If so any chance of seeing the Grysk?

I don’t love the Mon Mothma thing she’s great as a young Mothma but she doesn’t look old enough to be her at this point and they haven’t aged her up enough with makeup. There’s a few things like this in Filloni’s work such as Dooku not looking old enough when Qui-Jon died in Tales of the Jedi.

Alex, you think it was the nameless that killed the Zeffo on Dathimor because if you make contact with the remains they turn into dust and disappear ?

Q&A: Could The grysk make an appereance in Ahsoka and can we have a surprise to see that actually they are Evereni? I am asking that can the grysk be a group of evereni or could they be asocciated or are the same species with different names (grysk in the unknown regions and evereni in the known galaxy) and if they could appear in Ahsoka.

Question for next Q&A: What happened to Rae Sloane? Last we saw her it was implied Brendol might have have something to do with her being taken out of the picture. Interesting he is in the meeting and she is not.

Though I've enjoyed seeing what _is_ viewable, I agree there could be more as there was in years past. I think a streaming pass is a really good idea, at least as a compromise.
