It’s all good. I’ll be 46 this yr. So when Star Wars turns 46 in May. My birthday comes 4 months later. Star Wars born 5/4/1977. Me:9/14/1977. I remember ROTJ where I live in 1983. There two lines going past the fitness gym&the other line went past the arcade building to the entrance of the concrete sidewalk. But the old theater is a church and arcade is now a something else. Ur fortunate, when I was a boy: we had to go to a bookstore. Now everything is online. Which makes it alot easier.

YES. Canon is what we want it to be. They rip off it all the time. Kyo Ren was basically a rip off of Revan from TOR. Jedi, then turned, then redeemed. Even the mask is a little similar. I know not all the EU novels and comics were great, but much of it was really good and all we had for a while. That and games. To toss it all aside then blatantly rip off it is a slap to fans who kept it alive. So, I choose to enjoy the EU as the timeline.

The devastation in Legends easily reaches the scale of the worst theaters of WW2 and the worst wars in China's history on a galactic scale. Operation Shadow Hand's offensives kill such a huge number of people that even mass murderers like Grievous and Tarkin would have found it unbelievable. On the core worlds alone the Imperials kill several billion people, even en single planets. And then comes the Yuuzhan Vong War which kills like 365 trillion across the Galaxy. I wonder how the hell the protagonists manage to continue living despite all this eternal shit war.

Well I find the concept of canon a bit out of place. What's canon, what the current license holder puts out despite harboring an open contempt for the fans, seeing them as an impediment to their agenda? Or that which had the blessing of its creator and was made by people who loved this wonderful world building sandbox? I think the answer writes itself, the reason Disney acquired Star Wars was it was a magnificent platform and it was a magnificent platform because of the fans. It's always been the fans who determine what is culturally relevant and what is just another forgotten product. At some point, Disney will be unable or uninterested in putting more money into their spin on this franchise which was wounded horribly on Episode VII, mortally on VIII and was just butchered beyond recognition on IX. The other shows made sure to cool off any embers on their spin on Star Wars. Disney's Star Wars is dead, long live Star Wars.

I had the audio version of dark empire on cassette in the good old days also owned the comic which originally was gonna be published by marvel then dark horse got the license it’s nearly the same cast that did the original radio play adaptions of the original trilogy Any one who finds this interesting I highly recommend you seek out the radio play adaption of both Star Wars and empire. Jedi is pretty much same as the film but the radio adaptions of esb and a new hope flesh out a lot of scenes

Couple of minor issues in this adaptation: Vima Sunrider’s flashback scene- The young Vima seen there was 10 years after the war of Exar Kun, 4,000 years before the Battle of Yavin. How could she, a human, still be alive after 4,000 years? It can’t be the same Vima Sunrider, it must be one of her distant descendants, unless there is time travel involved. The young Emperor’s duel with Luke in the cloning chamber- why is the young clone speaking with the voice of the dead old man? Surely he would have a young voice?

Oh and the complaints! “Oh there’s midichlorians and now the force is ruined” “anakin’s whiny and bad” “there’s too much comedy!” Every complaint about the sequels has been made in a more intense and angry form 20 fucking years ago.

I would much rather see a really professional, high end animated film of this or the thrawn trilogy as opposed to a live action film. Handdrawn ideally, that reflected the comic art. The clone wars/rebels animation style always ends up looking kinda junky

Well with this amazing voice acting i prefer a badly animated or even this to the current sequels..
