Played the hell out of this game back when it launched! We were hooked and of course massive Star Wars fans! Played it a handful of times over the years since then,and it's so nice to finally have it available "everywhere" for old and new fans to enjoy!

Screw Disney for butchering the mainline episodic Star Wars film alongside dis-canonizing great stories from the Expanded Universe including Kyle Katarn himself. The Mandalorian and Rogue One are decent stories in their own rights though I miss the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight fan fiction that started with this game! Dark Forces is one of those Remastered titles that resurrected my childhood alongside other Nightdive Studios remasters/enhancements like Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition and the official enhanced ports of the first two Quake games. I unlocked all achievements in Dark Forces Remaster the morning of the day prior to when I wrote this comment making it my newest of my over 30 games to set foot on my Perfect Games list on my Steam library. Nice video btw!

Just hope this Is the beginning of a larger trend for more EU content. People that talk shit about it learned everything about it from wiki articles. I promise it was better in every way. Cough cough KOTOR.

I have actually been writing a novella that retcons things in such a way that both dark forces and rogue one can coexist. It's actually pretty interesting (based on some obscure lore behind the scenes in dark forces, involving the purpose of the base Kyle attacks. Working title is "Rebel Politics", but that is just temporary (open to suggestions, partly was due to it exploring internal division within the rebellion and how Mon Mothma was managing it).

Here's to hoping we get the same treatment for Dark Forces 2, Jedi Knight, and Jedi Academy! I would love to run through all of these again in a remastered form.

Funny how you compare Kyle Katarn to Dash Rendar because if you listen closely, you'll notice that their in game voices are the same, as well as many other voice clips and sound effects that were also featured in Shadows of the Empire

Showing my age but I loved playing the dark forces games and the Jedi knight sequels. Along with X wing and TIE fighter the 90s was the golden age for Star Wars games. I just wish that they made a Kyle Katarn movie.

Started my FPS teenage years in 1995 with this game. Shame on Mickey for having his people remove Kyle for like 5 lackluster rebels that just make up parts of his personality.

In the Mandalorian show, their design is different from the game, but my main issue is their weapons. In Dark Forces, they had a fast firing plasma rifle combined with an underbarreled rocket launcher. In the Mandalorian, they have classical stormtrooper blasters. They may be hard to kill, but they don't match the same destructive capabilities of the game.

They have plasma cannons in Dark Forces, and in Mando they uhhh...punch a door.

I finished this game when it came out and I enjoyed it, Star Wars games felt really special back then. However, its level design feels terribly outdated now and I have no desire to replay it.
