It's not back. Star Wars ENDED years ago when Revenge of the Sith completed the saga. All of Disney's films are big budget fan films. Disney may own the license but they will never be official canon, as only George Lucas is the one who decided that. Lucas has stated several times he has no part of the sequel trilogy or whatever else Disney is doing with the license.

Amazingly, some people in reaction videos are actually saying "Whose laugh is that?" at the end of the teaser. - Kylo repairing his helmet is JJ giving the middle finger right back to Rian (Ruin) Johnson - Having Palpatine in it is also a slight to Rian (Ruin) because he killed off Snoke, who I imagine was supposed to be the major baddie in the trilogy - Even naming the movie The Rise of Skywalker is JJ probably thumbing his nose at Ruin because of the whole "Your parents were nobodies" in The Last Jedi. Since nothing really happened of consequence in The Last Jedi, this is more like a sequel to The Force Awakens than The Last Jedi.

@Robert Le Panda TLJ accomplished almost nothing in the way of advancing the Skywalker story. It can be removed with little to no difficulty. There are so many "WTF?" moments in TLJ I can't believe anyone still defends this POS. Story branches that go nowhere, underdeveloped characters throughout that we don't care about, poorly placed humor, complete disrespect for classic characters (Luke sucking milk out of a space cow's teet? Admiral Ackbar killed off screen with barely a mention? Super Leia flying through space like Mary Poppins? My forehead was raw by the end of the movie from doing so many face palms). And let's kill Snoke before explaining anything whatsoever about his backstory. Yeah, that's a good idea. Ruin Johnson was given a story framework to stay within for the trilogy and - according to Daisy Ridley - threw it out the window (with Kathleen Kennedy's permission, apparently) to do whatever the hell he wanted, with no regard for what came before or what would come later. The result? The Star Wars fan base split down the middle, like never before. Can it be repaired? We'll see in 8 months.
