This goes to show the issue with critics, they fail to understand how a movie’s quality is related to the series it is in. In a vacuum, The Last Jedi is a fine movie. The issue is that it changes our understanding of classic characters from previous films (mainly Luke).

Biggest problems with Disney Star Wars shows: Andor: NO PROBLEMS! Rogue One: NO PROBLEMS! Solo: Underrated and bombed at the box office. Ahsoka: Very Rebels-influenced. Book of Boba Fett: WAY too underwhelming with shoehorned Mandalorian plot thread. Obi-Wan Kenobi: Worst Disney Star Wars writing except for Darth Vader. The Force Awakens: Played too safe. The Last Jedi: Assassinated Luke Skywalker’s character. The Rise of Skywalker: Dark Empire did it better and removed Rey’s female agency. The Acolyte: Over-the-top review bombing and sometimes a little bit of janky writing and dialogue. The Mandalorian: Garbage Season 3.

I actually don't really mind the Disney Star Wars, I think they play them a little too safe sometimes and the stories can be a little bland or underwhelming, but Critics definitely glaze the hell out of them which I think in turn makes Fans want to bash them even more excessively bc they feel their favorite is being disrespected. I really think Disney has done a lot of great things with Star Wars, but they have just done so much that some just miss the mark while others give people the nostalgia of the classics they grew up with. Andor, Rogue One, Clone Wars Season 7, Star Wars Rebels, Mandalorian Season 1&2, Ahsoka are all great in my opinion, and Star Wars Visions is really unique too with some great episodes. Plus, even just bringing Hayden Christiansen, Ahmed Best and Ewan McGregor back into the spotlight some more to receive the hidden praise from the younger generations they didn't get to see originally. My personal top 4 is still 75% the original trilogy though, nothing can ever really match that feel it gives you.

Some of these are really weird. I think it's more accurate to say audience score rather than fans. If only actual Star Wars fans gave reviews I'm sure the rankings would be a lot different, the audience is just anyone who's seen the movie/show and given a review. Also baffling how audeince score for Rise of Palpatine is at 86%. I think the critics' Disney bias is clearly shown by their scores for The Last Jedi and The Acolyte.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't understand why people viscerally hate the Acolyte so much. I mean, it's not an amazing show, but to me it's a solid 50%-60%. Most Star Wars media nowadays is actually either good, or decent at best. Kenobi and BOBF are pretty decent; Kenobi better. Rogue One is phenomenal. Mandalorian is good (haven't finished S3 yet; still, ughh). Ahsoka is good. Andor is good (only watched first 2 episodes atm; want to watch more somepoint). Solo is fine. Sequels are bad, but they had stuff going for it that was ruined by the bad stuff (bad writing, characterizations, etc). I like Finn; I wish he was more of a major character and not wasted by the sequels (of Ep. 7). Rey had potential, but she had bad characterization. I enjoyed Poe and Finn's friendship; wish Poe was handled better and their friendship was too. Kylo/Ben had alot of potential, but he was wasted.... 😮‍💨; who decided to kill him off in Ep. 9!? That was stupid. The Original characters (Luke, Leia, Han, etc) had bad characterization. "Somehow....Palpatine returned.." was just bad writing. BB-8 was cute, but its a shame thats all he was, characterization-wise. The story/plot throughout the whole trilogy sucked; it was a mess. There was some genuinely good ideas there, that were lost.... I want to watch The Acolyte cuz I haven't yet. The "fans" are probably overexaggerating like they always do. I bet its decent at best. (In general) Haven't watched Rebels yet, but I will; same for Clone Wars, after I watch Ep. 2 & 3. Ep. 4 is good. Ep. 5 is great; like it. Want to watch Ep. 6 soon. Watched a little of Bad Batch, but I should probably watch some of the other movies/shows to get more context. Edit: Oh, And Ep. 1 is good. Not a masterpiece, but who cares.

I think it has been proven that people reviewbombed the Acolyte en masse not due to quality but due to bias against Disney Star Wars. It's clear most of them haven't watched the show, and half the criticism can be found in many other SW products including those before Disney like FRIGGIN FIRE IN SPACE. I no longer trust audience scores for anything Disney does now. There are too many spiteful haters.

Because Critics are bought and sold. They are not assessing it based on it's merits and quality but by how "progressive" they are and that seems to be all critics seem to care about these days. The dialogue is truly terrible in Acolyte (the power of many, the power of one" .... then we have the total retcon of the sith being known to the jedi, magical force babies being made making Anakin less unique and not reqlly that special.

Funny it isn’t just Star Wars that have and critics disagree the more I look at it thank to your marvel movie comparison video which is great by the way the more I realize that this is a normal occurrence like they’re two sides of the same coin. I think most people would be more chill about certain projects to day if we looked at them more through both side instead of souls through critics

Not sure if you are a Ghostbusters fan. But I'd love to see your take on all that's been going on with the newer movies vs. old. Frozen Empire to me was excellent! It felt like a Real Ghostbusters episode, and honestly, I've always preferred the animated series to the movies. Critics hated it, but fans loved it. The exact reverse of the 3rd reboot movie. It's quite similar in some ways to what's going on with Star Wars.

The most ironic and sad thing about Disney and their mindset is the fact that what started as inclusiveness to combat racism and bigotry, they ended up becoming racists and bigots themselves.
