Galactic Starcruiser Day 2: Is The Batuu Excursion & Lightsaber Training Worth It?
Day 2 of our Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser adventure begins with breakfast before heading down to Batuu in a transport. We explore a new mini section of Batuu and try to figure out how the Starcruiser changes the experience of being in Star Wars Galaxys Edge, including visits to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rise of the resistance and Oga’s Cantina. Back on the shipping we did a photopass photo shoot before our Lightsaber training. We have Lunch and explore more of the story that continues around the ship.

To be fair, Galactic Starcruiser wasn't advertised as like a relaxing hotel to stay at compared to the other hotels/resorts around or in the parks 😅 If I had even remotely the kind of finances to afford this I'd barely be able to contain myself 😭

Lower the price, or make it a flat cabin fee of like $3000 for any number up to five. That would help families and encourage paying for the awesome merchandise, or adding days for the other parks/resorts.

Thanks for sharing the video! There’s no doubt that it looks cool and fun just like you’d expect from a Disney park. However, now seeing the food, activities, entertainment, lightsaber training, LARPing, et cetera, there’s still no justification for that hefty $4800-$6000/2 night price tag. Also, they should’ve had a full alien band playing on stage while Gaya performed. The Atrium looks like the Enterprise😳. The bar was incredibly small, and how can they only have ONE Sabacc table?!?!? Disney said these things were going to be part of Galaxy’s Edge. Now it’s behind a $4800-$6000 price wall. Nevertheless, I’m sure I’d also thoroughly enjoy the experience if I got to go for free🤷🏻‍♀️.

These videos have me absolutely fascinated! Disclaimer- I'm not particularly into Star Wars. I have a basic understanding of the stories (at least who are the good guys and who are the bad guys), but have never had much of a desire to watch the movies. That being said what I am is a theater girl and this idea of a completely immersive 2 day theatrical experience excites me. It's the same reason I get a huge kick out of Galaxy's Edge. The storytelling is so awesome that this non-Star Wars fan has bought a porg and a droid! It might be a one and done thing for me, but I'll definitely have to board the Starcruiser some day.

I am kinda the same! I would love to experience this even though I know little to nothing about Star Wars. I saw a bit of Star Wars as a kid but I was too young to really focus on it. I watched a few of the new movies that they started creating since 2015: The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker. And I gotta say, I'm still pretty confused on a few things. This is one of those franchises I wish I payed more attention to as a kid, as I am faced with the intimidating task of trying to play catch-up with a 40 + year franchise ontop of watching the new Disney plus shows they are adding lol. I'd rather just dip in and out of it for now. My saving grace would be finding a spouse who is heavily into it so he could teach me everything. I feel the same way with Marvel Comics.

You guys are doing such a great job showing the pros and cons. And obviously you're also having a ton of fun. I don't understand why positivity and fun are seen as bad things. Disney isn't holding a gun up to your head and forcing you to have fun. So many comments, hoping you see this one. I am a true Disney fan and lifelong Star Wars fan. I always look at the bright side, take what we love as a family and leave the rest. I will say that your channel has become a fav of mine, you both are just wonderful in so many ways. With that pretext I will say that I was soooo glad Disney invited you for the full experience because I knew you would be as honest and insightful as “possible” and you did not disappoint. The cost of this is possible for us but we have so many things that are more important that we should spend our funds on so if we choose to experience what we think would be an adventure of a lifetime together I couldn’t bear extreme disappointment and the financial guilt that would come with it. That being said thanks for your videos and I can’t wait for the final installment. I am atleast satisfied that at the price point I will not be heartbroken as I thought I would to put it on the shelf for a bit (hoping they add a night to take the pressure off allowing some downtime to create memories as a family that aren’t quite so linked to the “game” that follows the ship wide storyline. We love our merch and the chance to play and enjoy and even experience our outfits on the ship seem rushed to enjoy). For us it would be a onetime with no return trip and it seems as it is now I would leave feeling a bit dissatisfied. But who knows 😉 Will wait and see your final video.

Honestly what sold me on this is the actors. The lightsaber trainer is the best that I saw, Gaya is great, and that First Order officer is having a ton of fun. I hope the actors are getting paid well because they are making the experience (for me)!

If you’re new to Star Wars watch the prequels and then the clone wars and Star Wars rebels cartoon. I’d wait to watch the original 3 only because most new Star Wars fans can’t get into them as easily! Totally skip the Disney trilogy. It’s not good at all.

If the price discourages too many people, Disney could create a package with two nights at another premium hotel - Grand Floridian, etc. You might able to bring a 4-day package price down a bit.

I have a feeling that if sales continue to go down, Disney will eventually phase out the actors, exclude the dinner experience, and basically turn it into another deluxe themed hotel. It's a shame too since it's such a cool concept, but one that many people cannot afford.

@@bonniehowell9206 Agreed. But they did a terrible job of marketing. It should never have been seen as hotel; it’s like theater or even a ride. The first videos were atrocious. So, perhaps, they can fix that image problem. The web site should have some guests talking about experience. And describe the interaction better. But, yes, it might become a premium hotel and the restaurant/show is open to guests of other premium hotels. Keep a functioning droid in lobby and stormtroopers wandering around. Instead of interaction, it’s a photo op.
