this music perfectly shows the fact that most of what thrawn does is so that: 1) his people, the Chiss Ascendancy are safe from extra-galactic invaders 2) so that there is an army strong enough to resist those invaders as a result, the music isnt as dark, by far, as the imperial march

Absolutely. It fits his Canon persona as a tragic hero.
@midniteraptor14742 жыл бұрын
His theme feels more tragic, which kind of reflects the position he is in. His people are in danger, so he allies with the empire to try and help them. He believes that the Empire's government structure is better than the Republic, but he underestimates the evil that Palpatine is capable of. Ultimately, if the rebels didn't beat him, then the Emperor would have ended up seeking control over the Ascendancy, putting Thrawn in very bad position and possibly even using/forcing Thrawn against them. Talk about tragic.

Call me crazy.. but Thrawn was always on of the most interesting characters in Star Wars. Rather than space magic or massive armies or super weapons, he fought using his intellect. He learned of his enemies before he even considered attacking. THAT is what I think makes a villain interesting-not only a reason for what they are doing, but the intellectual ability to rise to the top of their group and lead. It's the same reason I like psychological horror, rather than simple slasher movies.
