Glad you stayed with it . Its hard when so much is going on to finish a project. I bet when you got past the programming of the lights you where excited because the hard part was done . Only saying that because programming is like school work you can't avoid it and its makes you want to scream . But when its done you take that big breath and go out side and you are free .

Tremendous project outstandingly executed! But I SOOOO wanted to clean that lens!
@TheSmugglersRoom
@TheSmugglersRoom 3 жыл бұрын
LOL!!! So, i'll tell you something. This lens has been through some stuff, and there was so much dust up inside. The biggest issue is that I could not take it apart without damaging it. Trust me, the dust inside was driving me insane! Apparently this specific lens from the factory was sealed in a way that there was no mechanical connection that would release it so I could clean it. I even went as far as researching the manufacture and going through old install manuals. no luck. If these are damaged in the field (when they were still used that is) you had to replace the entire board. Crazy huh?

That is quite the work of art. Your attention to detail and ability is amazing. One thing I might note. I understand that this contraption is supposed to have that 'used' look, but the camera lens itself looks absolutely filthy. Of all the parts of a hologram unit, the lens should be kept pristine to make it look convincing. I know it's tough to find a good one and it's great that your friends helped out. Again, wonderful work! I wish you all the best. .

Awesome video! I learn so much from these. Now I need to go make one. LOL. A suggestion, maybe try Wago connectors. I find that they are much easier to work with than wire nuts and electrical tape. Also if you are using different colored tiles, use the same color LED as that tile. It will make that color brighter, especially if it is diffused to much. Again, love the video and thanks for making them.

Thank you, but please Don’t be intimidated. Our hope is that you’ll find inspiration or that it will give you a good idea to try something you maybe hadn’t come spidered. At the end of the day it’s all about going out there and just giving it a go!

Love how detailed your tutorials are. This is my second video, 1st was the Star Wars Trash Compactor Book Nook I was recommended by KZbin after seeing Norm's Star Wars Corridors Book Nook... I don't understand why it took KZbin so long to recommend your channel based on all the Book Nook & Diorama videos I watch & channels I'm subscribed to. FYI... NEW SUBSCRIBER!!!! ;)

Killer, I think you could take it a step further by laser cutting/etching some figures the go on top of the projector lens

Certainly could, great idea. I wanted to be able to use this in upcoming episodes where we use effects or video of others we collaborate with, but you could certainly add acrylic.

Awesome! I have a spare plastic case that I’ll have to dream up something for. What is the tape you are using to cover the back of the LEDs and the wiring?

Yes! Old tool boxes, or really any box plastic, wood, otherwise can be great! The tape I used is called "Gaffer" tape. I have a variety of colors. it's great stuff, and we use it everywhere!!

Gaffer tape is awesome. It's what Duct tape wishes it could be.

perhaps you want to try using one of those cheap LCD screens/ HDMI board combos and tear out the black metal panel and black light and use stronger led to backlight it, if you stick it all close enough to the bottom portion of the lens it shows project an actual image much like it does when it's in the projector tv.

A few bare small transformers with the coils visible around the base of the lens would look cool .

@@TheSmugglersRoom also get an old mobile phone and have you seen the trick with 4 triangle shaped pieces of clear plastic sheet .when put on the mobile you get a visible hologram. It would make yours look awesome.

Make this smaller, it would add to your prop and make it functional. Love your channel ,use a mobile phone as the projector. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppqwmnpnrMqXZsU
