As someone who missed out on Fallen order but doesn’t have the free time to play video games like I use to but wants to play survivor this was by far was the most in-depth recap I could find. Appreciate it.

Exactly the same. Completely forgot that the original lightsaber got broken and also the reason why the NightSister Merrin decided to join Cal. I also completely forgot that the planet Ilum was in the game :x It's astonishing how much I forgot in 4 years

Same, I think it's because of the pace at which I played the game, there were huge chunks of me just ignoring the story and just exploring to get 100% on all planets. So I just got the story delivered in chunks. Same thing with Survivor although the latter had more memorable moments.

If we’re talking strictly main campaign, that sounds about accurate. There aren’t that many planets to visit, and a solid chunk of the game is just revisiting them to unlock new sections a la Metroidvania. I think 100% completion took me about 25 hours.

Yep any time I see an estimated time to beat for a game I basically double it then add a few more hours lol. I always, always play slow and take my time exploring literally every corner of any game I play. Hopefully I can finish the horizon dlc before jedi survivor hah

So for me, I’ve never watched Star Wars before. Didn’t get a chance to as a kid and as I grew older I never looked into it. This game was on sale for like $5 and I picked it up. This was the first game in a very long time that I played from start to finish and not wanting to stop playing. I loved the story, the environment and it was actually fairly fun combat and not button mash. I don’t know much about Star Wars but I do know of the Wooki and of course the end game surprise guy but as far as all the references, I’ve no idea what they were. BD-1 and Cal’s relationship grew on me. I’ll like a real like BD-1 ain’t gonna lie. I did like the mechanic where restoring health also revives enemies. It was honestly pretty fun having to device whether you push through or healing up especially on Dathmir. The story was pretty good and getting the second stance was the coolest thing to me. Again, I don’t know the Star Wars universe but this game made me want to get into it so I’ll be starting to watch the movies and clone wars. I also got Jedi Survivor but the performance on that game still is a bit iffy and I really want to play it as I’m using a Steamdeck OLED which is how I played Fallen order. The sleep function was the best thing to ever happen making it nearly hard to go back to a windows device as stopping for a moment and then just diving back in seamlessly was incredible for that game. I also don’t have like a strong performing home set up aside from an asus rog ally so I’ll try it on there but again, not being able to out the device on sleep is kinda hard since I work 12 hr shifts so I only get a bit at a time which the steamdeck helped a lot. (Turned into a review whoops). Anyways, new Star Wars fan here and I’m looking forward to soaking more. I really liked Cal a lot honestly and this game was the first in a while to actually get hyped in key moments where I was like “let’s gooooo” out loud or like “no way!!”. The supporting characters were also really good especially Merrin. If I had a con, the way you regained force abilities through flashbacks was kinda weird but not too bad. I do wish there was a better way gaining that instead of “oh yeah I forgot I could do that” and I don’t know if it was because he was losing connection to the force that it was made that way

Is it just me or is cal way more brutal in survivor like some of the finishers I’ve seen Cal pistol whip people and throw two lightsabers through someone’s head

It took me months of playing off and on for an hour or so at a time and needing to relearn the controls each time. I think the only real issue for me was the MAP!!! And not having fast travel back to the ship after missions. Just brutal… lots of times I said EF it, I don’t want to spend 15 minutes just getting back to the ship. So I’d stop playing for a while… I really hope the maps are better…

i went and watched this after playing the first bit of survivor and seing Cals crew in the opening mission and not remembering any of them. now i realize why i didn't remember its because they weren't there kind of a weird introduction for them honestly.
