It's not all about killing for fun and whatever bullshit you're talking about, alot of villains have very good reasons for turning out the way they did. I can't speak from that place of everyone in life shitting on you. But I can say that it is an outlet. It is super fun to play the role of villain. You get to see stories told from both sides. I would never personally harm or attack someone, but being a destructive evil force in a game can be enjoyable and not relate to any aspect of the real world. Dabi makes a great point. Thanos, for example, actually made a lot of good points in his argument. It can be an incredibly compelling story to see things from the view of the bad buy. Darth Vader as one example, was super evil and destructive. He believed he was doing the right thing as the bad guy. Then you have the aspect of the villain finding his way back to the good side and doing the good thing in the end. Evil and murder is of course wrong but it makes for some fantastic story telling and character development.

The hardest I did was dakside Mira. Go itorian for ls/neutral point do narshada first gain influcence. Then use the infinite ds points glitch. Same thing can be done with ds handmaiden. Also it can be fun to get the ds ending and keep the jedis alives. Give Kreia full her full victory !

You can also make your companions jedi by getting their influence down to zero instead of 100. They will just become the opposite of your play through. So if you are darkside and get handmaiden to 0, she will be a lightside jedi

Bao Dur should just stay Tech and never convert, and the ranged perks benefit Mira and Atton far more than whatever force powers you would have them take honestly. So long as you get 11 levels of Sentinel for Mira for class feat she should be dual wielding mandalorian rippers all game long and hard tapping master flurry for almost every action, nearly the same with Atton.

You should totally make Mira a dark Jedi if you go grey until Nar Shaada (which is my first planet always to get Atton to Jedi status too). Her turning her back on her previous ideals after everything she’s done is pretty sad. Dark side is pretty evil in this game. They NEED a remaster collector’s edition. Take my money!

Agreed! This game was extremely well made. I loved how dark you can go in this game. Really opens you up to deep thought between how the light side and dark side can affect a Jedi. Something the movies couldn't do. I'd pay top dollar for a remaster!

If i remember correctly to get Mira you just need to be neutral or slightly leaning to light side and you can convert her to Jedi and then go full Dark Side with no issues, Handmaiden doesnt matter Light or Dark side as long you dont fail the influence checks.

Yes that is true. Mira is quite easy to get Darkside. Just have to tip the alignment scale like you mentioned. I hardly push her Darkside as you miss out on tons of Darkside point spots trying to stay neutral to get her. Handmaiden is a little tougher as almost any Darkside action will piss her off. Alignment influence and taking her out of the party at the right times can make it much easier taking her down the path of the Darkside

I actually had no problems converting Handmaiden to a dark jedi at all. Just keep her influence high, side with her instead of Visas, fake being light side only when she asks you stuff, fight her three times and boom, your character tells her he will start training her as a dark jedi. She switches her outfit to black which is way cooler, too.

I know its technically not part of the original restored content vision but I don't view it as cheating like start with lightsabers, but there's a mod for the restored content that lets you chose between Hanhar and Mira, it makes getting her in dark side runs soo much easier

I would always recomend dark side because your character can learn a force power that just buffs your self match that with battle meditation stims, and shields and your good to go. oh yeah you can also force crush. By the way I can’t remember the thing that buffs your stats.

Helpful guide, though the pace is a little too quick at points. It's worth highlighting that Atton will actually approve of wanton violence in spite of himself. Probably as foreshadowing of the Exile's instinctive influence over people in moments of stress, but he does eventually grow into it so you don't need to hide your evil acts from him. Which brings me to this thought: is it truly worth it to go all this way to manipulate your other followers, to pretend to be good and morally upstanding, only to train them to use the Force... and then not have them actually flip to your way of thinking? They will still disapprove of evil, violence and exploitation long after you turn them into Dark Jedi. So even if you wanna bring them along, you'll just have annoying back-seat moral guardians yapping over your shoulder when they should be your pupils. Their karma meter is all the way down, but somehow the dark side hasn't actually touched them, when the lore yells at us constantly that it's insidious and truly capable of warping people's morals beyond recognition. Feels like Obsidian kinda dropped the ball there, not really following through on the Influence system or just not having enough time to fully implement it before launch. Hard to say. I find it way more fulfilling to A) stick to the followers you actually *can* effectively corrupt, and/or B) stick to the followers that approve of your evil actions to begin with. HK-47, Hanharr, Kreia, Visas, G0-T0, Mandalore... It does make you groan at the do-gooders just sticking around and judging you, but I guess you get those regardless of alignment anyway.

Thank you for the thoughts. I have considered slowing down and taking my time but sometimes I feel like I have way too much information to share and am also trying to keep the video on the shorter side. Appreciate the feedback though, I will try to find a nice middle ground. You do make some very valid points. There is only one argument I would make though. I would agree to manipulating your companions by pretending to be good only if you were trying to exploit them and their powers. Training them to be stronger and have Force powers solely for you to benefit from. They are simply tools at your disposal so lying to them to gain their trust seems perfectly in line with a power hungry Darkside main character. Only in that instance though would I make that argument. I would have to say I mostly agree with your thoughts. I do hate the nagging of the do-gooders when I am trying to be evil on purpose. HK47 is the BEST companion to have with you on a Darkside run. His quips make the game so much more lol. Definitely would have been super cool if their personalities were affected more if you took them down their opposite alignment path though.

You can actually make Handmaiden a Dark Jedi Guardian easily as dark side. I've actually done it three times before. All you need to do is duel with her and not commit dark side actions in front of her (like killing innocents). There are actually two influence opportunities you can use just by talking to her and you can still gain dark side points with those opportunities. As for 4:09, there is a way to gain influence with Bao-Dur without the LS points. All you have to do is say to the thugs "You two better back off before you're kissing duracrete" and then they will attack. Once you finish them, say to Rutum "Aren't you going to thank me?" or "Let them come" and the Bao-Dur will automatically say that was a kind act. Mira actually is kinda hard to turn dark. I've donene it before, though. I'll admit it was extremely fun. I even have a screenshot :D . For Disciple, you can make him a Dark Jedi even before you leave the sublevel by following certain speech patterns. It definitely requires LS points, though. There's actually influence opportunity you can utilize on the Ebon Hawk. You can meditate with the Disciple and it actually gives you XP, FP, and influence. Anyways, great video! It's great to see people are still playing these games. I hope to see more :)

Thanks for pointing those out! I did know about the Bao Dur Darkside Influence spot. I have gotten Handmaiden and Mira to be "dark" jedi but I took the easy route of just converting them and then leaving them alone and proceeded to gain heavy amount of Darkside points and just have there alignment match my own since I usually go Consular the companions sort of stick with which way you lean. I will have to go and try out the Desciple Ebon Hawk Influence. Need to hop back in and get a fully dark and evil Handmaiden. Thank you very much for the kind words. I play gray/light until I recruit Mira, then the gloves comes off. By that time I can pretty much train everyone into a jedi after Nar Shadaa. I prefer Mira over the Wookie. Sure he has a story but Mira so much better.

I have to ask, is it worth trying to make Handmaiden a dark Jedi? My goal was to make everyone Jedi this play through, and to do it fairly early on. I made both Atton & Bao-Dur Jedi in Nar Shaddaa (the 1st planet I went to). After some trial and error, I was able to turn them both Jedi in about 10 to 15 minutes. I also got my lightsaber built in the process. I’ve had a couple Handmaiden influence gains already. I was thinking of just flying to another planet or two I order to gain influence, make her a dark Jedi, and then go back to Nar Shaddaa to start really playing the game. (This is the first time I’ve played the game since it first came out 17 years ago, so I don’t remember much)

He only joins your party if you choose a female as your main character. You also don't get Handmaiden in your party if you choose a female character, as he takes her slot in the party. If you go Male Main character, you still run into him on Dantooine in the Jedi Enclave, but you only have a quick chat. Playing as female is fun as some of the male characters have different dialogue towards you. But in my opinion Handmaiden is a better addition to the Party than him. Plus she gets those super cool Jedi Robes! XD

That is a tough one. I do enjoy going as a Female that way you sort of follow the story of how it is suppose to go down. But I also do enjoy playing as a dude and exploring the possible conversation trees for the female companions lusting after you. Too hard to decide so I just playthrough the game several times instead!! :) lol

@Darth Cameron In my opinion "canon" set years after the game release is no canon at all. The game was made and advertised to be played as male protagonist - Scion says in the trailer about Exile that "he" must choose side. The story is better made for male character (though i never played as female so i'm not entirely sure about that) as iirc Atris is in love with male Exile and that's the reason she acts the way she does - is this also true for female? If not than that makes female story rather bland. Female char also don't get Battle Precognition feat. If we consider all of that you don't want to tell me that undeveloped part of the game that you get when you play as female Exile was supposed to be canon.

@Darth Cameron My main reason is that i always play singleplayer games as male (unless i don't have a choice) but for kotor2 there is also Battle Precognition feat i mentioned earlier which is really good as it adds armor from wisdom modifier (and you only get it from Handmaiden) which even for my pure melee class is 10+

Handmaiden is actually very easy to influence and she doesn't actually require you to be level 18, I converted her at level 10 with enough experience to be level 15ish (Maybe I had the exp for level 18, but I'd forgotten about the level 15 minimum for prestige class, so I flipped her with my main char at level 2 and just ran her as my main character through content for a while, and as long as you dont actively level her she is very easy to defeat in hand to hand combat at a very low level (I usually suppress my character to level 15 for jedi/sith prestige builds). I'm also near positive you can also convert her before a tier 3 echani duel if you find two or 3 areas areas of influence with her which are generally pretty easy with minimal light side gain. You can basically beeline to nar-shadaa with her in tow, assist the two men you'll encounter early on, and also I think offer to return the Ebon Hawk to the idiot guy and then do t1 and t2 fights and she will flip, or just help out even if you're dark side. Also if you plan to do evil deeds, you just party swap her to avoid the influence drops. You don't lose influence for the acts they don't see you do. Can also do a bunch of the kindness things on Dantooine to support Koonda and the Republic, as well as show the droid parts dude mercy and help him out, and you probably don't want to try to flip her on Onderon at all because you would have to give up things like the Qixoni crystal giving up the star port visa and all, and she isn't really keen on you assassinating, intimidating, and tricking royalist sergeants out of their command posts or encouraging riots, and getting a republic spy/reporter kidnapped and tortured, and most of these things have pretty relevant benefits, whereas Nar Shadaa and Dantooine influence don't really jeopardize serious rewards by influencing her. After that it is simply a matter of not doing influence loss checks with her in your party and she will fall all the way to the dark side with you, and when you prestige class you will give her prestige as well, and she will get a 1-8 bonus damage for being a dark side jedi guardian. You don't even have to make her a crit build (although it's pretty solid) you can give her no additional combat feats and just let her 1-shot things with a force-jump saber slash and just spec her into defense and accuracy while giving her an absolute jacked saber. Give her dual strike (paired either with a jedi teammate/main using multi target force powers or with one of the droids/Canderous so that she can get the bonuses), conditioning, dueling, vitality regen, toughness, specialization sabers (she gets auto as a guardian I believe if you do not level her at all before turning her she should pick up specialization pretty rapidly). As for the saber, the obvious 2-12 damage lens expert fencing emitter, and either an ultimate diatum or a telgron jolt Mk III power cell, for saber crystals, if you have them, I really liked using Hurikkane, and the b. ingot for the 2-12 fire, but pontite in place of hurikkane is pretty fun as well, especially with the jolt cell because you'll get +2-12 fire, 1-10 cold, 1-6 lightning and have a dope storm saber that has +4-26 tribrid elemental damage along with the 7-35 on the saber with the lens and emitter, for a total of 12-69 damage on the lightsaber without any other gear modifiers except for the dark side prestige effect when she is fully dark with your main character. Of course you'll also want the master speed power for the double combat round hits and with this build, even on difficult she should 1-hit most enemies through the end of the game. The influence part should hold strong no matter what version you play on, but I think hurikkane crystal is a RCM exclusive, could be wrong though.

If you know all the triggers for her she is indeed pretty easy. Just gotta trial and error her a few times and you will figure out what to say. Bao Dur is pretty easy if you do him as quickly as you can. That way you aren't too Darksided and then when he disapproves of your actions, it's already too late cuz you converted him early game lol

Understandable. Only good thing is there are way more Dark side gain points than you need. Even with the sacrifice of getting Light side points, you can usually get back fully max in Darkside very quickly. Especially when you know where all the locations for them are.

Unfortunately no they do not. They get their initial Jedi class when you convert them, but they stay that class throughout the playthrough. Would have been cool if you could have prestiged them!

Thanks for the video. I just beat the Xbox version of the game on light side and realized I missed the chassis for HK47 along with a bunch of opportunities with the handmaiden Atton, Boa Dur. Order won't matter for influence. They should all be at the same spots regardless of order visited.

Did you already beat Nar Shaddaa? You can't do the speeder repair quest if you finish the planet. The Akerre Hydrospanner Influence will work for Bao-Dur. I have another video on my channel that has every influence location for the Jedi companions. Check it out! As for the Sensor Quest not working, I think I may now what is going on. So I have read online that you have to have at least 4 Awareness or 15 Repair for Bao-Dur to examine the sensors. Not sure if that is on the Main Character or on Bao-Dur. I have come across this a few times while reading but never experienced it myself. Sounds like this might be the issue!

Something i've always been curious about: Kotor 2 tells you that the force-based prestige classes (Jedi Master and Sith Lord) can influence the alignment of your companions. If this is true, how does it work, and how far can you push your companions towards the light or dark side? Is it possible to turn all of them completely towards one side or another? I recall trying this years ago, but I was terrible at influence farming.

I'd have to dive into it a bit more for a thorough answer, but basically the higher your influence, the more they will follow you down the path. Hence why HK can be light sided if you are light sided and have high influence with him. It's also possible to drive companions in the opposite alignment by tanking your influence with them. Sort of like them rebelling against you.

I meant it as handmaiden is one of the hardest to get darksided. Since she doesn't like darkside actions you can't do evil stuff with her the party. She will of course probably lean towards darkside with you, but getting her fully maxed darkside will be harder. Just not as easy as some of the others. Yes that mod is another good option to get her in your party if you don't wanna hang neutral until you get her.

You should for sure give it another playthrough. Pretty fun rolling through the galaxy with a full squad of Jedis. If you play on PC there are some mods out there to skip the Peragus part. There may be one for Telos too but I know for sure there is one for Peragus.

You should just have to start talking to him. There should be an option to say I wanna ask you something and then there should be the option to ask him who he is and reference the Twi'Leks saying something to you. If all else fails, just try every speech option available to you.

How many planets do you have left? I have another video on my channel that goes over every influence location so you can see if there are some left for you to get. If you have gotten too many influence losses its possible you may not be able to convert them until your next playthrough.

It is possible to influence every companion to dark side? I know Handmaiden is hard to influence. I tried light side and manage to get all of them except kreia but I think I remember I manage to get her to light side somehow in one of my playthrough out of 30-50 of replaying though I might mistaken, I think she get to light side and then turn to dark side as time goes on, I might be wrong though.

To convert Bao Dur, u do not have to do special stuff, u can be as cruel as u want? To convert the disciple, u have to make some decisions in the dialogue at dantooine, and then he is dark side?

So when you are converting companions you have to choose the right choices that cause an increase with influence. Most often yes they are lightsided. Atton is a yes man and is the easiest to get influence with. You can murder people and still get influence increases with him. Bao Dur is one of the hardest to turn darkside. He is generally lightsided and you will always lose influence with him if you do darkside actions near him. Don't do darksided actions with him in the party until he is converted. Yes Disciple likes to hear certain things and support for the republic. He started turning darkside even though I was making lightside choices because companions will follow your alignment. Once you get their influence high enough, they will mimic the same alignment you are. That is why he instantly went sith in the middle of conversation, because I gained influence with him and I am as Darkside as you can get.

She is real hard to convert darkside as well. She gets mad at any darkside actions so you have to play nice until you convert her and then you can start being rude and sith like lol

I think that if you get enough influence with him and you aren't mean to him, he will start going Darkside with you as you go Darkside. I don't think you can get him fully Darkside though. Maybe just starting to lean towards it. I will dive into google and see if others have tried!

I’ve just started a new play through on Xbox and just finished going through the Harbinger on Peragus but I’m going dark side and have kinda been an ass to Atton and Kreia and there have been two instances where I’ve lost influence with Atton. Have I already lost the chance to make him a Jedi, or should I just reload a previous save and run through the Harbinger again so I can be nice to him?

You should still have enough influence gain points left to turn him into a Jedi. There is a video on my channel that goes over every influence gain location for the Jedi capable companions. Since you are so early on though, it may be better to load a previous save since you aren't too far, then you can use the remaining influence spots for other companions. I think there are 2 spots to gain influence with Atton on the Harbinger so it can be nice to get those for him so you only need 1 or 2 more.

Tons of them! I usually have about 20 or 30 mods on at most times. I have another video showcasing the Kotor 2 Mods I use. It doesn't cover all of them but a good chunk. Restored content is a must. Then most of the other ones are HD retextures or cool skins. I always make Bao-Dur look like Darth Maul lol I could take a screenshot of all the ones I am using and post it in my discord if you would be interested to see them all. I only take ones from the Steam workshop since they are easy to add and remove.

You will just have to grab your mods from Nexusmods.com or Deadlystream.com. Any PC version lets you mess with the files so you still should be good to go!

Idk if this is a glitch or not but handmaiden is already leaning dark side for me, I was already very dark side before I got her and then the first time I used her she instantly was in black robes and her alignment was leaning dark? Hardly spoke to other than one training session

Do you have insanely high charisma? Leaning dark sounds pretty normal but the black robes part does sound pretty glitchy. I've hit every darksade point gain before getting her and not gotten black robes off the bat lol

Bao Dur won't get influence when I help Rutum near the central pit. Why?

Do you talk to the guy after you deal with the thugs? Also does the cutscene of Bao Dur commenting on you helping still happen? Cuz if the cutscene happens but no influence is gained, that means you have his influence maxed out. Also might help if you remove the other member of your party so its only you and Bao Dur. Atton tends to soak up others influence.

So as you increase influence with your companions, they start to follow the same alignment you are. So for example you will loose influence with Bao Dur if you do Dark Sided things. In my playthrough on this video, I went Darkside and made sure I removed him from the party if I did Darksided actions while also gaining influence with him at other points. Since my influence was so high with him, he started turning Dark Sided since I was even though he hadn't been there for the Dark Sided actions. However there is a method like you mentioned. If I am super Light Sided and I continue to lose influence and be rude to companions, the more influence lost (closer to 0), the more they went the opposite of my alignment. So with this method going lightside, I could lose influence enough to turn them darkside. Oddly makes the most sense when you realize the developers of the game made the influence points actually influence companions alignment. Neat mechanics!

Thank you very much! Oddly enough influence is the biggest factor for their alignment. If you have high influence with them they will follow your path. This is how you get Handmaiden Darksided although she hates Dark sided actions. If you get really low influence (a lot of lost influence with them), they will go the opposite alignment as you. Almost like rebelling against you.

HELP! So I’m trying to make Bao-fur a dark Jedi, I gained some influence with him no Dantooine and no I figured I could use the speeder on Naar shadar to get the final bit from him. But now the game won’t let me board the Ebon Hawk, and I have no dialogue choices with him. Thanks

I will try my best to help out my friend. Have you lost any influence with him? Also how many influence gains have you gotten with him? He will need about 3 or 4 influence gains assuming you haven't had any influence losses with him. You will likely have to suffer some lightside points to get influence with him. As for not being able to board the Ebon Hawk, I am unsure of this. Sounds like a separate issue from influencing Bao-Dur. Are you stuck on Dantooine? I have personally never gotten stuck on Dantooine but perhaps finishing the main quest on that planet will get you out of it. I recommend saving often and in many many slots so you can reload a previous one if the game bugs out on you.

@@shanemoldrup5932 Nice! Glad you were able to get him converted. I love converting the companions. Yeah that issue is super weird. Not sure of what quest would stop you from boarding the Ebon Hawk. Only one I can think of is if you have already triggered the Exchange Meeting in the Jekk Jekk Tarr. If that's the case then you just gotta wrap up that quest. If not maybe your game encountered a bug with the Red Eclipse thugs.

Usually Jedi companions will follow whatever alignment you are. However there is one method that might work out for you. If you can get their influence down to zero, they can be the opposite alignment of what you are. I haven't experimented very much with this but I have heard of other doing so successfully.

This method also happens if you use cheat codes in your game. For instance, if you're lightsided and decide to input stats cheats, then your companions are of the opposite alignment

I have a mod on that turns him into Darth Maul. He does get some weird dark tattoo like things when he starts turning evil but on my game I use a mod that make him look like that. Normally he turns white and black instead of black and red.

Yeah Handmaiden is a bothersome when converting her to the Darkside. Still possible but easier to do with Disciple. You can for sure convert Mira when your Darksided. Just make sure to agree with her and keep her influence high and it should work for you no problem.

@@codydunn6323 I have a video called all companion influence locations. Check that one out. One is not more than the other. An influence gain is the same from any location. The real key will be conversations with her. Save before attempting all dialogue options in case you mess up a choice.

It's the same as the other guide. Influence is only what matters. You can't make Handmaiden more Darksided from conversation. You just have to not lose influence with her so she doesn't go the opposite way in alignment. Maybe I'll make a video just for her but it would really only be how to not lose influence with her.

currently working on this right now but you can turn all these companions by actual being dicks to them, low influence. I still got "dark Jedi sentinel" for atton even though i have like 20 influence with him....... Really cool though low influence atton has a minor change to his scene with Kreia after you awaken him to the force. He actually is playing to Kreia's game instead of trying to act like he's freed I'll see if I can go back and record it it, it's a scene i've never really seen before.

Most of them are influenced by your alignment. I was super nice to Disciple when converting him but he automatically turned Sith and crusty due to me being Darkside and him following my alignment. Gaining influence with them will make them more aligned with you. It is possible to convert Handmaiden into a Jedi while your going Dark Side, and if you lose enough influence with her, she will go full on Lightside cuz you pissed her off so much. Usually when you buddy up with Visa. Companions should go Darkside with you as long as you don't lose too much influence with them all the time. Trial and error it. Keep back ups and many saves so if you say the wrong thing and their alignment swings the opposite way you can reload and try again.

Lol well if you know what you are doing they are all easy. But compared to Atton, Disciple, and Mira, she's harder. You can turn those 3 in just a few conversation trees. I should have phrased it that her steps to convert are more tedious.
