Star Wars Launch Bay 2024 Walkthrough at Disney's Hollywood Studios in 4K | Walt Disney World

Enjoy a walkthrough around Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney's Hollywood Studios, filmed on August 24th 2024 from around 4:45pm - 5pm. The new Monsters Inc "land" that was announced earlier this month still doesn't have an exact location, but rumors suggest that there's a pretty good chance it'll go in Animation Courtyard, which would permanently close the Launch Bay eventually. Disney is also supposedly considering tearing down most of Muppets Courtyard and putting the new land there but the more logical spot is Animation Courtyard for a number of reasons. Hopefully Disney will confirm what is happening here really soon.

Cool exhibit but with SWGE this is redundant. Put the Monsters coaster here and leave Muppets ALONE! Excellent vid 4K.

Yep for sure, it would be sad for sure to lose the Animation buildings because of all the history in them but the area is just not what it once was. The Muppets are still very popular and the shows still fill up every day, so adding Monsters Inc here would really increase the parks capacity! Hopefully we’ll know for sure soon, thanks so much Andrew!

Get rid of this entire area for Monsters Inc. Although, I like your idea we were talking about; get rid of the Animation Courtyard and put it there

@@rwbashaw66 i’m hoping that our friends is correct in the information that he may have about the animation courtyard being the replacement area. I would love them to expand the Muppets area; and do something about that god-awful pizza restaurant. I ate there last week and it was terrible. And the only reason I ate there was because I was sick of some of the food that the parks had offer. MGM really does have the worst food out of the four parks. (Yes I said MGM)

💫Awesome archival footage. There is something to be said for movie posters & those lit pictures to "decorate" a bldg that once a booming automation area which had animation art in them. I filmed back there last trip because it was fun to hear the soundtrack & see props from the 6 films. Animation to me was what the backlot was to you - this was when the animators were seated below you.then there was the movie w/Chroncite & Robin Williams. Overall, some of the props , etc are quite cool. Thx 4💜

If you think about how important these buildings were to not only the park itself but also the connection to some of the best Disney films ever made, it’s really a shame what happened to this place. I always thought transforming it to Star Wars in 2015 was completely unnecessary and this becoming Star Wars played a big part in killing the theme that made sense at Hollywood Studios. I’ll be really upset to see both animation buildings go if this is where Monsters Inc ends up(hopefully), but I’d much rather that then the Muppets going to say the least lol. Launch Bay needs to close forever and be replaced, rather than Muppets, with Monsters Inc land. That's what I'd like for SWLB to do.

Enjoyed Launch Bay itself, but it belonged at the other end of the park near Star Tours or the future site of Galaxy's Edge. Replacing The Magic of Disney Animation with Star Wars Launch Bay, in THE ANIMATION COURTYARD, in 2015 was hands down Disney's most disapointing move in the 20 years we have been going. A complete denial of their roots. Walt would have fired all involved in that decision. Get the Magic back, Disney!😢

This is another location I have bypassed never entering. I think I will have to find the time and take it in, it does seem pretty entertaining and maybe a spot to get cool. Thanks for an interesting walkthrough and of course catching the rain at the end of the video.

I have never been in here!! Something to check out in a couple of weeks...try new (to me) old things before they may be gone things 😉. At very least...go in to enjoy some music by one of the newest Disney Legends (I thought he already was!!) That mural of the whole story is neat!! Looked like you were walking in temp to the Imperial March there as you ascended those steps 😜Thank you, 4K, for this view and recording for posterity IF this is where the portal to Monstropolis will end up....).

Oh wow yes you definitely got to check it out when you come! I do like how the classic music blasts in there, along with the ice cold air conditioning! I can also kinda still see the layout of the former Magic of Disney Animation in there, I think I’ll miss that the most assuming this is what closes. Thanks so much my friend! 😃
