Crikey, that's an absolutely fantastic army guys! Hoth is such an iconic planet and battle from the trilogy and this has certainly done it justice. Mel, that's an awesome scheme and painting white consistenly and to such a high level is a top skill to have. Brilliant 😃

Thanks Ste, Hoth is our favourite part of the whole storyline. The scheme was not too bad to paint, I tend to find painting white is better when not actually using white, I later using various shades of grey up to very light. I then only lightly dry brush a white on the top to highlight.

Hi, the white wash was Vallejo White but then thinned down a lot so it comes right down to a wash consistency. Then apply several coats to get it smooth. Thanks

You say “white wash”. What’s that wash made from?

For a White Wash, I tend to use Vallejo Model Air White which is thinned with water. I’ll usually then do a few coats with the thin mixture. For some shadow, depending on the overall colour scheme, I will tend to overwash with a very thinned down Nuln Oil, Agrax Earthshade or Seraphim Sepia.. once the colour is shaded, overwash again with the white wash to blend the colours
