It's going to take a lot of time and effort to create a viable third party in the states but if someone as high profile as Sen. Paul would have run as a Libertarian, that would have gone a long way toward progressing the idea. I hate to cite a Democrat talking point here but it's all about the money. I understand that Third Party advocates are often preachy and generally insufferable to listen to, like vegetarians, vegans, electric car drivers, etc.so it is with absolutely Zero smugness that I say I voted for Gary Johnson this last election just to make a statement. The more people willing to make a statement, the less it becomes simply a statement (let alone a choice between the lesser of two evils), and more the actual will of the people.

613 We have to see about the new ones, but the first 6 are basically an allegory for Nazi Germany. The republic, as good as they strived to be, held too much power and was easily corrupted by Palpatine who was given power rather than resorting to stealing it. So even though the Empire is obviously authoritarian, if the republic can fall by merely one bad leader, than you can be sure it holds far too much centralized power. It's more than globalist, it's... galaxy-ist? But the rebels are different being only an alliance rather than a government.
