Noticed some audio issues I had previously overlooked, also got the chance to fix some other errors that popped up during render. Now this is fixed. This video is dedicated to two amazing creators out there, who introduced me to the character's tragic background, without their work this video wouldn't exist. Maul was one of those people who had so much potential that you thought had been wasted after Phantom Menace. Only to have an entire arc expand on his story. While I didn't quite like the end of his story, I did love his recreation when he was reborn and almost everything after that. This tribute was amazing.

I think his ending was true to his character, he was all about hatred and vengeance. So seeing him die because of those same attributes was very poetic. However, seeing him throw away his hatred for Kenobi and rather seeking revenge on Sidious through Luke or on his own would have been a very cool path for him to take. Very glad you enjoyed!

Funny thing is. Maul never lied. Not once. Sith don’t outright lie. They move like shadows. Always present in the light but thrive in the darkness. Maul warned them. He was a lot like Anakin. Made into a weapon then betrayed when he wanted more.

Even tho, i've never been a SW fan and i never really cared for Clone Wars or Rebels or any of the SW extended universe, i must say this video really captures that makes Maul a complex and pretty fascinating character. I can see how much efforts you put into this video and i can only say thank you for putting such an amazing work out there!

It was very challenging to properly edit him, the story arcs in CW and Rebels are layed out pretty horrendously, so to make the story telling all make sense was something I struggled with. It took both time and effort, so I’m very happy to see both you and others enjoy it so much! Thank you Jesse!

This is really amazeing work i think its one of the best tributes to Darth Maul that i have seen before i think the song choice fits darth maul really well and it shows that Darth maul was never evil he was just broken and hurt he hated palpintine for what he did to him he threw him aside and left him for dead and tried to kill him after he became a threat again and he put his hate for palpintine on obi - wan for causing the downward spiral in his life that knocked him down from his peg of power to living likd a rat in the desert this video perfectly demonstrates that evil isnt taught it is created and maul fell into its trap .

Ngl it’s kind of a weird twist of fate that Maul , Grievous, Anakin & Ventress are probably the closest four characters in mainline Star Wars to understanding each other, and all four only ever meet on random occasions. Like all four meet at least 5 of these criteria. Tortured Enslaved Tricked Forced to serve an ideology they don’t believe in. Serve as child soldiers Are manipulated by almost everyone they meet Spend years in agony over their tragic past that they were doomed to from the start. Doomed to serve as mere pawns so that the force can dictate the rise & fall of Anakin. They were all tortured for Palpatine’s amusement. Maul was born on Dathomir. Because of his unique abilities he was put under the direct torment of his twisted mother. Then he was kidnapped & raised as an assassin so ruthless he survived 11 years on pure rage after being ripped in half only to die tragically so close, yet so far from understanding it all. Grievous is a Khaleesh warrior who rose up in a war-torn planet, conquering it & bringing peace to his people by unifying them through brutal means, the only way he knew. Only to have his body ripped apart by his own allies in a bomb, manipulated to look like the Jedi in a false flag attack. His homeworld plunged back into endless war, they gave him a funeral & he was stripped of everything that made his people honourable. He was then stripped down & rebuilt under basically mind control of Palpatine in a ruthless rage fest at the Jedi he wrongly blamed only to tragically die fighting his greatest rival. Ventress, a Dathomirian girl sold into slavery at Mother Talzin’s decree. Abused by pirates, rescued by a Jedi master. Her master is killed and she is abandoned on the planet to die by the Jedi. She goes full rage on the pirates, escaped & is then rescued by Sith Dooku, who at Palpatine’s order tortured her into a ruthless assassin, only to then be betrayed & treated like shit. Then she finds love in Quinlan Vos, but that tragically ends with them both dying. Then there’s Anakin who was born a slave, manipulated from birth, watches his only family die & is then tortured like Maul for decades in a prison of his own burning body with clearly untreated ptsd & borderline personality disorder. He loses everything & in the end it was all for naught until his dying breathe when he tragically turns back & gives what little he has left to protect his son & all for the Will of the Force. No wonder Kreia hated the force. So many similar lives, that could relate to each other & all turned into bickering rivals for the force to play its games.

This is definitely one of the best Maul edits out there. The pacing is perfect, the music choice is perfect. The way you cut the clips together is perfect. 4:12 - 4:50 was definitely my favourite part

I really hope that we get to see what happened with Maul in between the last time we see him in the clone wars up to solo and how he ended up where he was at in rebels. That would be a dream. His assent into the crime syndicate and how he eventually ended up stranded on Malachor. We know some and much can be assumed but I’d love to see it in an animated series or even live action.
