The set is missing Red 6. Jek Porkins! His X-wing is pretty cool looking, has a red canopy. How could they forget Porkins!! PS: Check out the pre-battle shots of the Fighters going in. Special Edition = 22 X-Wings and 8 B-Wings. OG Version = 14 X-Wings and 3 B-Wings. But we hear "Gold 5". We also hear or see "Red 9" and "Red 10". But not the actual X-Wings. I think each squad maxes out at 12. In both OG and SE versions, Red 2 is re-used. Even in some photo-op posters, Red 2 model is used with R2-D2 head. Because of the toys, kid brains, and photos - All X-Wings appeared to have a single red stripe on the side.

Congrats on getting this set, the different deco on all five ships, makes it a must have, pity it's not a larger edition size. I wish Jazwares would release multipacks of mini figs with the updated deco. Also I did wait until yesterday to open the Secret Mission Ghost set, you were right it is awesome!

@@doctordetroit1217 awesome!!! Glad you like the secret mission. Unfortunately, I don’t think their license will allow them to do figure packs (I don’t know that as fact but pretty sure that’s the reason why). Hasbro has held that license for figure packs for years. Hence the reason they have “micro figure accessories” with all of their vehicles.

Another great review Kevin. I got my red squadron set a few days ago. It was my first VAULT purchase. I’m an out of the box colllector but was blown away by the packaging! I will be displaying these in box.

@@hmanh2135 thanks for the comment!! From the previous interviews I did with their team it sounded like playsets and creatures were not part of their license agreement at that time. So likely not right now. If the line continues to do well who knows. I think they would crush it, if they did make them!

Awesome review Kevin, great work on those custom AF X-wings. The Vault Red Squadron set is awesome, thanks for posting Rebelscale's images and making all the comparisons. I only have one tiny nitpick with the set, just wish they could have fixed the wing-gap when closing the s-foils. A lingering issue since series 1.

I love this set, and I really only have one complaint. With all the effort they went to to make the decos as accurate as possible, R4 just being a repainted R5 unit instead of a new head sculpt is disappointing.

20:30 - It's not an R4 mold. It's an R5 with an R4 paint scheme. The updated Canopy molds look better and more accurate. Too bad they had to go with the kid-friendly engines. Guess they couldn't at least kept the nozzles the same size?

my red two came with a luke figure. had to manually paint the helmet to be accurate

I really want this but what I don't like is the wings not closing all the way, it always open back up slightly :(

@@arkhamknight_06 yea. Some of them close tight and some don’t. If you take them apart and clean some of the wash that gets in the closing mechanism it should help it close better
