Sideshow presents the Darth Sidious Mythos Statue, ready to rule your galaxy of Star Wars collectibles.
As a collection, Sideshow’s Mythos series are fine art collectibles that allow the collector to imagine what could have been, but maybe never was. Myths meant to be initiated by the eye and completed by the mind.
The Darth Sidious Mythos Statue measures 21” tall, as the vengeful Sith levitates over the roiling lava of the volcano planet Mustafar. Drawing power from the dark side of the Force, Sidious shoots a blue bolt of lightning from his gnarled fingertips in a fearsome display of rage.
The polystone Darth Sidious Mythos Statue features PVC elements as well as a black fabric cloak over sculpted inner robes, designed to capture windswept motion as the villain hovers over the volcanic earth. The fabric cloak also has internal wiring, allowing you to pose it for added dynamism. Emperor Palpatine’s iconic portrait is detailed with sunken yellow eyes, darkened teeth, and a wrinkled, aged complexion, embodying the evil of the Dark Side. The Darth Sidious Mythos Statue also includes a swap-out left hand wielding an extended red Sith lightsaber blade with which to strike down the Jedi once and for all.

As poorly conceived, written and executed as The Rise of Skywalker film was, the Emperors new burgundy Sith robe with all the Sith markings and stuff on it was super dopppe! I would LOVE to see a statue or even a Black Series figure of that iteration of the dark lord of the Sith! Awesome show btw, love the skits.

Can't wait for the inevitable showdown between Gem and Jim, 😄. This is a cool statue, but mixed media capes/robes/etc are always a bit of a disappointment, especially when they cover so much of a statue. They come off as passable at best to me. Nothing beats a great sculpted cape. In this line of statues alone there are so many good sculpted "capes"; Asajj, Obi, Maul, Vader. Which makes the mixed media even more disappointing.

Still not liking the pose. Merry Poppins yah...prefer Maul and Ventress. Sculpt robe part looks like stone compared to the mix media. Hope they do Mythos Ahsoka and Captain Rex

Sideous is the statue that got me into this line as well. Not only is it my favorite of the line (and one of my favorite characters), I think it was the first one I saw; followed closely by Ventress. I have Obi-Wan on pre-order as well, so eventually, I'll have the entire line (the new new line anyway). I would love to see a Mythos Luke Skywalker statue inspired by the Season 2 finale of the Mandalorian.

The pose kinda doesn't make sense. Did he jump OUT of the lava? Or is he straight up floating? The pose should've been at a 45° angle or something to give us that lunge attack look/effect he did against Mace Windu.

Not feeling this one. don't love the head sculpt. wish it had an exclusive more sinister Palpatine version instead of just angry muppet Darth Sidious. The pose is ratchet and makes no sense physically, is he being pushed back? he can't be moving forward with the way it's sculpted. and the mixed media cloak should be consistent throughout the line. Big Mailman Jim sized miss for me.

These intros are a nice addition to the channel. I heard the Amazon delivery driver says the same thing about me. I have a bunch of stuff delivered to my job, so the delivery guys have begun to wonder who I am. I love the paint and sculpt on this, but the pose is not what I would've chosen. I would've preferred a museum pose with his hood drawn up and his lightsaber activated. The rest of the Mythos statues look great. Now they need to do a Darth Plageius, Revan, Starkiller, and Bane.

The cape with wires gives the owner to pose it any way...I like this idea,would have liked the base to light up. The Delivery guy... very sus,and shifty:-)

Darth Sidious is pretty cool, though I can kind of understand why people would have an issue with the mixed media in his case. The way his switch outs work in conjunction with the mixed media arm sleeves and hood it seems like the bendy wires would experience a lot more metal fatigue and be more prone to breakage than what your average mixed media statue would experience (depending on how frequently you switch things up or move/disassemble the statue).

The pose and the concept are amazing, but I’m lost at the blend of fabric and sculpt. On camera there is a clear difference between the fabric and the sculpt. They usually do it well when they have the fabric capes on the sculpted body, but this is using sculpt and fabric for the same piece of clothing. It really gives it a toy look, at least to me. If they would have picked one or the other I would have been more willing to pick this up. I hope they don’t continue to go down this path with future projects.

I just can't get behind the difference between the mixed media and sculpted cape. Should have been one or the other. The concept is cool cause its mythos so im fine with the levitation aspect. Also the fact that the mythos line are a totally random 1/5 scale drives me crazy. No idea why they did that?

i love the mythos line, got the old Vader and Boba, and has been looking for the rest in europe for a good price.. some day maybe :P but not likely.. i ordered Ventress and Maul, and love them to, tho sad they dont have the same base as the old... i really wanted to love the emperor and Obi to.. but i just cant.. and the mix media completely puts me off! even the ligt reflection on emperor could had been done better, i mean its fine, but more on the cloak would have been nice, see how much is on Vader . .. either, way, great video and nice to see them together. :)

Honestly I’m not too big of a fan of this piece compared to the others but after watching this video I might have to snag it. Alone, I still think it looks lackluster but when posed next to the other Mythos statues it looks great!
