Character face model/animations has been one of Ubi's weakest points in most of their modern games, it seems to work alot better when they change their style. IE: Fenyx rising/Avatar

Over the years, there are two types of cutscenes for Ubisoft games: the curated cinematic ones that you can tell they added more effort to the scenes, and the "budget" cinematics where it using pre-existant animations and apply them to a scene/missions. As their games gotten bigger and bigger the latter has been used a LOT heavily to speed up the process and you could tell the flaws with the system. Sure with the right talent you can make the latter blend perfectly with the former like CD Project Red games, but unfortunately Ubisot hasn't master it, and sadly probably wont.

Their assassin's creed team always deliver in graphics department without downgrade... The only let down was AC unity bugs but that game still looks more next gen than majority of current gen games.... But this is developed by division team... 😂 Division 1 downgrade was more crazy than watchdogs 1 downgrade 😅 it was literally day and night for division reveal graphics and retail graphics... But still it's manageable... One thing they'll deliver is gunplay..

I smell last minute strict corporate orders: "BUT YOUR GAME MUST BE FULLY COMPATIBLE TO OUR OLDEST ANCIENT PRE-PRE-PREVIOUS GEN CONSOLES TOO! And there must be no visual difference of the visuals on actual gen hardware!" agenda. The same happened to Cyberpunk 2077 when the devs suddenly got the strict order that their game must also be sold on the completely outdated last-last-gen PS4 Slim too (not even PS Pro, but Slim!) + there must be no visual differences visible to the PS5 and Series X and PC version. Well good luck squeezing an actual gen game into 8 GB of RAM and a Radeon RX 460 with year 2013 rendering and computing power, and Ubisoft maybe is currently facing the same problem CD Project Red had - suddenly being forced to port and downgrade and compatibilize their newest masterpiece to every stone-age hardware available from the last decade because of the new strict big-corporate and publisher agenda: All versions on all release-platforms must be the exact same game with the exact same textures, rendering distance, effects....... This might be the reason for this very sudden abrupt and very noticable visual downgrade compared to the absolute top-notch next-gen graphics quality we saw during this year and last year in all videos presentations and gameplay scenes of this fine open world Star Wars masterpiece.

There is a difference between rough/unfinished vs simpler graphics. Simple graphics can still look good when done right. This is a game that is intending to look good, so when there are parts where it looks rough/unfinished it makes it even more jarring.

The irony of this gameplay trailer is that , despite the criticisms of the performance, it was the first time since this game's announcement that I am genuinely interested in it. Only thing holding me back is it feels hard to tell how much of each planet is explorable. I know we can't expect Far Cry levels on each planet but with the way they are constantly telling us about it's vast and seamless open world I am not yet convinced.

Honestly as a huge Star Wars and older Ubisoft fan, as soon as I heard Ubisoft was working on a SW game I knew it wasn't going to be good. One thing Ubisoft fails to do well every single time is animation and writing-- the gameplay is often hit or miss, you either like the loop or you don't along side with the huge unending open worlds. Knowing this I didn't watch more than 5 minutes of gameplay of this game and knew right away that this was just another Ubisoft game. I hope this game goes out silently just like Avatar game went and Ubisoft can finally maybe come to their senses.

As a huge Division fan, it’s not looking good for Massive Entertainment. The Snowdrop Engine is great at creating worlds but even movement over there can get kinda wonky and stiff. If you’re a Division 2 player you’ll look at this game and see ALOT of similarities that carried over. It’s good and bad and might be showing its age. This definitely looks like a wait for a sale kinda game if not a hard pass for now.

It's Ubisoft so it was already a wait for a sale game for me. Their games always go on big sales within in a year or two. Not to mention the game so far just isn't blowing me away. Sure it's Star Wars and I do want to eventually play it but I'm in no rush. The next game that I'm really looking forward to is Warhammer Space Marine 2.

Typical "The graphics don't look the best ever so my intrest just went down!"-type of a rant. I saw that IGN gameplay yesterday and to me it looked just fine. But hey I don't play games for graphics but for the immersion, feeling and story. An open world Star Wars game in which I get to play a scoundrel is something fresh after the Jedi games so I'm game with this. I'm sue the game will be fine even without the best graphics ever. I started my gaming back in the early 90s with NES so I know what scruffy and 'not top notch' graphics mean and look like.

Oh so this still runs on Snowdrop? Hmmm ...then yeah all the lighting stuff makes sense...I have yet to play a Ubi game on Snowdrop that doesn't exhibit horrible lighting issues.... Division games - Fog + Hard Lighting = Stop playing until it passes and go make a sandwich and take a restroom break ... because you can't see crap in those lighting flared conditions, meanwhile the AI has perfect aim.

I'm guessing you're just trying to harvest KZbin views by generating controversy, but to anyone else, I would check out the IGN video in 4k. Reforge is deliberately (or accidentally) compressing the video down to 1080p with a low bitrate and it looks awful here, but nice and crisp on the original video. I have no doubt the animations had to change since they published a marketing video a year ago, but the in-game footage still looks pretty damn good to me. Maybe not cyberpunk good, but still good. Is anyone actually going to switch from "I love this game" to "I won't play this game" because her eye animations look a little more wooden ? LOL

The gameplay looks rigid and the explosions look bad - probably features of this demo being on console. The facial animations and AI being mid, though, are no doubt design decisions/game engine limitations. I'm still optimistic for this title... but it's Ubisoft. Probably another "7/10" type of game.

Honestly. I think this game looks great! Compare this to starfield which is a bunch of lifeless sandbox areas. It's supposed to have 4 main planets if I'm not wrong, all of which look unique and fun to traverse. Last gen explosion and particle affects aside, I think it aims to deliver. Besides, a lot of those details can be ironed out. Fallout 4 was a big step in it's series but even then, it lacked the graphical fidelity gamers were anticipating, and its world felt so static. Let's give this one another bout of gameplay before we start picking it apart at the seams.

Downgraded - had this from a few Ubisoft games - The Division was most notable one I remember well. I never, ever look at a game due to the "Trailer" or "Live streams" of the game as they are not the actual ones that'll be released. Cyberpunk was another that comes to mind......

Im really a proponent of ciritcal thinking. This always happens with big new games. You get your "minds eye" version from the first exposure to the thing, and from then immediately there's a sense of identity. The character look awesome. The color of the jacket, too. The style of the jacket. The hair, from back and front, look great. Her feature look perfect. The movement look well done. This a LOT better than I expected. This a phenomenal looking fantasy world. And. I always find it funny that 'nerds' think only like ONE girl in the whole world is attractive and everyone else is like 'disposable.' This character look as interesting as 'Rey.' The cool shield for proect robot, when she firing at it, and the high tech 'cat' helper. Ubisoft do a great job, base on this clip.

It is so clear that this game is just going to be a massive letdown. Just like Starfield is a piece of shaite. This game is gonna be the same. It's not the same company but I'm a 100% sure it'll be bad.

Hoping it's closer to The Division series gunplay. The cover mechanic is reminiscent but Outlaws doesn't look nearly as bullet spongy.

Your forgetting one thing most amazing and great games look diffrent from there trailers and reveal trailers even the first look footage it may not look the best from this new gameplay video but it's look really good and fun in my opinion better than other ubisoft games like some of the assassin creed games of late shadows looks alot better than origins and valhalla they got made into incompletable RPG games which personally I'm not a huge fan of because of the grind and with having a busy schedule and work the only one I didn't mind was gow 4 and ragnarok incredible games!

Getting of a speeder with a 1 secong pause every time is killer for gamplay feeling smooth, like in ghost of tsushima i can JUMP of my horse and get on and off without a second wasted, and that feels so gd smooth. i hope this gamplay is 2 years old or we are in truble

None of you will get what you want until Star Citizen finishes the basics of what they're doing.... What I mean to say is, every other major publisher has their tail tucked between their legs when it comes to stepping into the new territory of gaming, or they're too greedy with micro transactions to care about the progression of gaming.... So, until Star Citizen blows the lid off of what gaming will be- And make no mistake, they will, Every game that even slightly encroaches on that subject will fall short in more than one way... They have private investors to pay and you, the gamer, are not their most prized asset.... You are the cow they milk to quench the thirst of that investor.... The sooner you realize this, the better. Until then, enjoy the ring-around-the-rosey that is every half assed game made by a careless publisher. Passion makes games that we love..... Greed ruins them.....

Apparently the graphics like the dust and such is supposedly from on an older build or maybe a console build. Someone who has played it in person on a pc has said it looked far better than it did in this demonstration. They seemed pretty surprised.

Just watching a stream on Twitch... Gameplay looks kinda boring. Fights are a joke (PG-13, so to be expected) and there's graphical glitches everywhere (maxed out graphics on a NASA PC) ... characters somehow got this plasticky feel to them... like in Fallout 4... Environment looks good, tho. In any case... I could definitely look past these things. It's downgraded for sure, but might be okay. But here's the catch: 70 (S-E-V-E-N-T-Y !!!) Euros for the Standard Version and only available on Ubishite's launcher... No, thanks. That's insane. Hard pass for me. 70 bux for "okay" is a bit much.
