Freeruning is when you allow yourself to express yourself artistically and fluidily through your movement and motions. Parkour is finding the fastest and most effective way from point A to point B. These terms were coined in the late 80s and the early 2000s, respectively. This video was very well done and entertaining, albeit it should be called a freerunning battle, since the jumps and flips happening at 0:16, 0:20, 1:15, 1:18, 1:21 really are more of a way to showcase your talent in freerunning (and you are all talented), than to speed up your motion and make the chosen route more effective.

+MrObame dude idk if you actually do parkour or not but the majority of the parkour community (which i am a part of) doesn't care at all about the difference, we just like to jump around with our friends. I have never met any serious practitioner of parkour/freerunning who cares at all about the difference, and it actually angers a lot of people i know when people always focus on the differences between what "parkour" is and what "freerunning" is. If you actually do parkour you might have a different perspective, but when you say this to people who actually do parkour there's a serious chance that they will instantly hate you.

Cade Carlson 》 well one it looks good and to the physics aspect of running in this fashion. Where she was to get down to that level she was going so fast that a flip slows you down, it assures a better Landing while keeping your speed and not having to stop. If the character would have stopped and just jumped off she would have lost a lot of the speed needed to keep going. I ran in my twenties. If I would have just stopped on the wall and jump down I was twisting my ankle to pop my knee there's no way for the the energy to go anywhere other than back into my body. It seems a little excessive but there's a reason for doing it. But you got to admit it looks good.

Harry Williams Starting from a position of greater strength earlier in that run, of course. As he continued he would've been depleting his reserves FAST as he got closer and closer to bleeding out. Now there is ONE moment where I will admit, the writers intentionally messed up in order to prop up Princess OP Mary Sue of PLZ NERF (letting her meditate?!), but other than that I think Kylo's injuries are MORE than a sufficient "excuse." The one other bit? Bad writing, because someone was afraid to let Rey the Perfect Little Hero (who also should NOT have been so socially adjusted after her life on Jakku, and learned her powers WAY too fast) actually have flaws and be realistic If you ask me, the fault isn't in how Kylo was written or portrayed for the most part. The great majority of it (and even that one dumbass decisions by the writers) comes down to the writers coddling the hell out of Rey.

Shown episode 1 through 3 clearly showed that and had the most amazing light saber fights I have ever seen. The only reason why Rotj light saber duels were like that was because they didn't have the capability to do that type of choreography back then. Also Rey vs kylo was a weak display of light saber fights because those characters were not trained in the arts of Jedi fighting styles.

Actually this was made and published before the new movie came out. It was nearly impossible to find a clean tie fighter blaster sound so I used the AT-AT because I figured nobody would care since it was a parkour/action video after all. There was also no quality sounds available for Kylo's light saber at that point either. If I had more time to layer in all the sound and mix it all then I might have been able to create a decent sound file for both of those.

When you're running full blast on a flat piece and want to change the levels you flip while falling . The character was on a wall ledge for her to get down without tripping you flip rather than just jump. It slows the momentum to assure a good Landing but you don't just stop you able to keep running when you hit the level you want to be on. I was running in my twenties.

that was actually a lot more decent than i thought, with only a few awkward, somehow over the top moves here and there, but considering the video is called "star wars PARKOUR battle" i guess that is forgivable. that being said, this was actually a pretty cool vid! im sure TONS of work went into this and i wish good luck to the creators in their work.

classic star wars battles arent clean and scripted like this in the force awakens its more sloppy and gritty cause the lightsabers are constantly coming into contact with the surroundings making it way cooler, not like this video and the prequels

Awesome video! I love the quality of the cinematography and how the fight scenes were captured. I'm impressed the Kylo was able to do some cool parkour in that outfit haha. I do have to wonder one thing though. Since most of these jedi/sith are incorporating parkour/acrobatics into their fighting styles, does that mean that they are predominately using the lightsaber form Ataru?

Excellent work! A lot of the parkour movement was contextual, rather than random (with some unfortunate exceptions...), and expertly executed! The cinematography was top-notch, and the special effects, flawless! Great job! My only (small) complaint... I don't understand the whole "two Jedi on one Sith" thing. The double-teaming always makes the Jedi look like inferior fighters. I'd love to see one of these films in which the Jedi are outnumbered, and victorious. But at any rate... Excellent job!
