Honestly when I first saw Ezra start falling it kinda made me realize more and more how EASY it would be to fall. Ezra just wants the rebels and especially the Ghost crew to be as safe as possible and he wants to be strong enough to protect them, and with Kanan being absent since he’d been blinded, the only teacher that was willing to help Ezra was the Holocron. And on top of that, I doubt Kanan explained much about the Jedi code, and just ANYTHING jedi-related to Ezra except the basics and some teachings (mostly things he himself as a Padawan knew, but again his time as a padawan was about a decade ago, so yknow…he probably doesn’t have much of a clear cut knowledge anymore), Ezra most probably doesn’t see the full risk of using the dark side, and what listening to the sith holocron can do.

mandak kart it’s not necessary a fall but rather how even the purest can be influenced. It also shows why Anakin fell but Ezra didn’t; Family and friends. Whereas Anakin felt alone due to his secret relationship and feelings of being let down by his own Order, Ezra is able to turn to his newly adopted family to help push him in the right direction. It isn’t necessary to say that Ezra is stronger because he resisted but rather the importance of surrounding yourself with good influences and those around you who care. Ezra has the crew of the ghost, but Anakin only felt that he could turn to Palpatine.

@mandak kart I remember how, during the start, that part where he uses the Dark Side to subjugate another living being, and then the temple guard telling Kanan that the Dark Side calls to him, was pretty good foreshadowing. While we saw Anakin fall way back in the trilogy, we never really got to see Clone Wars Anakin fall. The only time that could really be considered close was that time with the Dark brother, but even then, that was more of him gaining eye shadow. He didn't even have Sith eyes. Imagine if, after Ezra uses Force Dominate on that walker pilot, when he opens his eyes, we see them as that sickly yellow before they turn back. And as the show progresses, with each moment he uses the Dark Side, and with each time he wants more, we see that the yellow stays around alot longer. Until, it never goes away, his thoughts are filled with anger, hatred, malice, and a want for vengeance. And then, maybe, he flees, in search of more power, maybe even to Maul. And it's the job of the Ghost crew to try and bring him back after he falls. We could even have a scene where Vader, the Emperor, or even both have a moment where they sense the new presence within the Dark Side. He might even be able to go a route similar to Starkiller, or even Revan. How fucking cool would that be?

What I always liked about Ezra is that his true power was never in obvious, flashy ways. While Maul and Darth Vader are definitely are two in my "Three-way-tie" of favorite villian in Star Wars, their usually a threat to mainly Jedi and other Force Users. Thrawn however, is a threat to any hero character, weather be rebel or Jedi.
@michaelgualtieri6513 жыл бұрын
@mandak kart No I notice that lol I worded it wrong I guess when explaining. Yes, Vader and Maul are dangerous on their own right to all with their training as well as their abilities in the force. However, Thrawn himself is a danger since he is someone who can exist in real life. While again, Vader and Maul are a danger, they would probably be less threatening if they didn't have their abilities in the force.
@TheGreater-ScopeVillain3 жыл бұрын
@@michaelgualtieri651 Idk man, an unyielding, genocidal, super-strong cyborg and a professional martial artist with full-body tattoos, yellow eyes and a head full of horns. Those two would be pretty damn terrifying even without the Force. Both Vader and Maul are still incredibly smart and manipulative in their own right. Thrawn is smart and manipulative too (and he has blue skin and red eyes), but he's pretty clueless when it comes to things like politics, and he's not as physically capable as either Vader or Maul. But regardless, all three of them would be pretty scary in real life, whether they had the Force or not.
@Klffsj3 жыл бұрын
Vader and Maul both like to get into combat themselves. Even if stormtroopers are doing all the work, clearing the way, Vader will still enter the battle. They're the types where you fear for your life just hearing them mentioned. Thrawn is probably as good at fighting as both of them, and just as strong (ignoring the advantage of the Force). But, it's incredibly rare to see him do more than give commands. Thrawn may be a little slower with results, but he can do more with less effort, and that leaves a really eerie vibe.

The only real flaw for Thrawn in rebels, to me, is that he lets them get away on purpose too often. I remember when the show was releasing weekly and it was something that really bothered me. Other than that, i thought he was almost perfect. He only really struggles against things he cannot study or understand prior, which makes sense considering his strength is his attention to the smaller details.
@tomfou3 жыл бұрын
@@c1-10p7 I know it feels that way, but he really didn't. He only let them get away on purpose twice(3x01 and 3x04), both of which make complete sense. There were only two other times that might be considered letting them get away, but really aren't. In Iron Squadron he arrives late after Konstantine failed and couldn't have done anything to prevent their escape without interdictors and in An Inside Man they only get away because of Kallus(and the fact they're jedi).

Rebels is my favorite Star Wars media, but the whole Ezra falling to the Dark Side subplot is probably the weakest part of the show. It feels to me like they creatively lost interest in it between production of seasons 2 and 3, but since they had that epilogue in season 2 with him opening the holocron they knew they had to pay it off, so they just rushed through it in the premiere 2 parter and it is never addressed again. Ultimately I'm glad we didn't have a long and drawn out edgelord Ezra plotline, but it just ends up feeling like a plotline brought up and quickly dropped.
