This was just such a stunning piece of fan work. I mean, obviously, the difference between the two sources in the cut are visible, but they just put so much passion and effort into it. I'm not sure if you guys have watched it yet, but there's another fan film called "Darth Maul: Apprentice" which is just an outstanding piece of fan film work. It's really worth a watch.

I had that thought too, but I'm not sure if anything can really be done with it. Luke's training was far from complete and he would've been challenged to fight at this level. Also, Vader's goal wasn't to destroy Luke like he wanted to do to Obi-Wan, but rather to trap Luke and convert him. Vader was really toying with Luke in their first meeting.

Watch episode 4, 5, & 6 first. Then episodes 1, 2, & 3 next. Then Rogue One, & then 7, 8, & 9. If you watch the prequels before the original trilogy it will ruin te reveal of episode 5. So just consider guys.

I had the opportunity to have a friend who NEVER saw any of the ST Movies and I had to decide Which order they should watch it... I want to say... THEATRICAL Release is probably the best because It wont ruin the big reveal.. Exactly how you put it . You can even see him doing it in the new trailer. I think the shot of Obi-Wan pushing Vader back and 5:28 looks silly. Given how the rest of it looks, I'm surprised they kept that in. And I don't think people would complain if they changed the scene. The complaint that old schoolers like me have, when it comes to altering an older film, is when there is _no other option._ Because at the time George Lucas refused to release the originals. So we were forced to either buy the _Special Editions,_ or watch the VHS copies we got in the 90s. I for one hated the _Special Editions_ because of _what was changed._ Not because there were changes. For instance, with *Star Wars* '77, he could have made the battle against the Death Star so much more exciting. But instead he spent the time and money crowding Moss Isley with a bunch of goofy slapstick aliens. You're _starting_ with Episode I? Well, not that it matters what we think, but I saw a few polls that indicated most fans think one should start with Episode 4 (showing them in the order they were released), when asked how they should present them to their kids. Especially if you're showing Jane. Assuming you don't want to answer her questions before the movies do. 😆 😝

Meh, I prefer chronological order. Disney came up with the new movies plot, so clearly they don't know better. Still, I'd agree with watching 4-6 first then 1-3, except throw in the Clone Wars (both old show and the new one) between 2 and 3, and Rebels after 3. And skip the new ones, read novels or play games if you are interested in next developments. You know, the next developments that make sense and aren't actually going against established characters of some characters, or balantly copy stuff from a better source material in a way that makes no sense ;p

"Impressive, ...MOST IMPRESSIVE!" Almost seamless editing, outstanding computer graphics, and dynamically fluid action. Somebody, call Disney and have them re-shoot this fight scene, paying and using these guys "reimagining" as a paradigm. Then re-re-release it on on DVD and/or stream. They'll make 10-20X the money they invest. We've been waiting for this kind of Episode IV fight scene for over forty years.

To be fair, Lucas had a point about Jedi understating their Force abilities. It was not about spectacle, but effect. This was way too showy for it to fit that narrative. But yes, looks great, though not seamless and tied it to the prequels.

In the original, the lightsabers were not digital enhancements of plastic swords, but were actually made of glass and would thus shatter if they collided. That greatly limited what they could do on screen.
