I love the introduction to SM33. He's absolutely the best. K-B totally logged all the info SM33 dumped on them about how to fly the ship. His hand to hand combat is so great, I love his punchy arms. I'm really hoping when his little Ratatouille ran off without the key that he was going to find his eye-socket house and reactivate SM33.

The kids are great in the show. Wim for example, has really good physical reactions to stuff happening around him. I'm glad they took the time to get kids that come across as kids like they did in the Amblin movies and even recently with Stranger Things.

Was that musical hint in the last episode the music that played in the OT when Han's ship took off? I think it might be. 1:46 omg I didn't realize that was kid Anakin. That just made the show so much better in a way. The creators clearly care about old lore and aren't retconning anything. They're fully acknowledging anything in past Star Wars projects. 9:58 that pirate has to be the same one that the Mandalorian and Greef fought off on Navarro before his boss came in his much bigger pirate starship. He looks so similar. 12:46 small uses of og music like that, the force theme, same with the small musical cue in the last episode, mean a lot. It makes it feel way more special than when it's overused. Actual chills.

I have a theory about what At-Attin’s whole deal is. I’ll post it as a reply to this comment if people want to hear the theory, so spoiler warning just in case, but *everyone should keep in mind this is a CRAZY theory and we shouldn’t set our expectations here!* It’s okay if this doesn’t end up being the case, I’m happy to just take whatever journey the storytellers want us to take.
@jasonmarbachАй бұрын
We have these known facts: a) The planet of At-Attin has been a fabled, lost “planet of treasure” long enough to be a myth to the larger galaxy b) The ship was buried long enough to have a LOT of sediment and plant life atop it, including some VERY old, VERY large trees that were uprooted when it took off c) SM-33 (who is himself apparently a forerunner design of the K series droids the empire used, like K2SO from rogue one) had information pegging Aldhani as a “sulfurous bog planet,” which doesn’t track with the modern version of the planet we saw in Andor. What we DID see in Andor (outside of the mountainous highlands where the crew mostly hang out) is a valley with a river where the empire has built a dam. Possibly stemming what was there previously: a more marshy, “bog-like” environment…? We can surmise that the ship (housing SM-33, I believe Lego leaks named the ship the Onyx Cinder) was there longer than the ~30 years it’s been since the empire would’ve built that dam, so it’s probably not up to date information that SM-33 has, right? d) Mint condition old republic credits are At-Attin’s default currency and treated as such a matter of course that Wem’s dad gives him a bunch of those credits as *lunch money* So, conclusion: At-Attin is probably at least from the High Reublic, if not older. And since forming this theory I’ve been told the creators gave an interview in which they referred to At-Attin as “the Jewel of the Old Republic” or something like that, so I feel like my theory is more or less confirmed to this point. So…why was it hidden? Here’s where the theory gets a bit insane.

First, if you didn’t play KOTOR religiously back in the day, you might not know who Bendak Starkiller was. He was a mandalorian bounty hunter and pit fighter who was revered as a living legend in his day. You end up fighting him in a cage match in the original KOTOR game as part of a pit fighting side quest of sorts. The kind of legendary character who inspires legends long after they die. Why does that matter? Well, if At-Attin was a closed society hidden during the time of the Old Republic, it might make sense for something they were working on to have been named after an old republic legend. Right? So, maybe the planet was tasked with “the Great Work,” as it’s referred to in the show (😬), and that’s some kind of weapon? Perhaps that project was taken off the books and hidden, and the planet has been a bit of a Petri dish Stanford experiment since then, right? Their tech is mostly kind of stuck wherever it was when the old republic took them off the books and put the barrier up. So the “great work” could be a weapon system powerful and dangerous enough to keep secret, right? But, with the tech available to them, it could take centuries to complete. The weapon system, named after a legendary old republic killer? Why, that could go on to be Starkiller Base, from The Force Awakens. Hear me out! Lmao
@jasonmarbachАй бұрын
So, the weapons system has taken them generations to near completion on. But the rumors of the plan for it remained even after the planet was hidden. Like a legend rumbling around the back chambers of the senate. Of course Palpatine would’ve heard about it. Others, too. So the lingering whispers of the Starkiller Base project would’ve inspired the creation of the Death Star itself, just for Starkiller Base (the functional parts of it from At-Attin, re-located to Illum) to actually supplant it decades later, *after the events of this show reveal At-Attin to the larger galaxy and the imperial remnants who are presently trying to resurrect both the emperor and the empire.* 🤯

She uses the term "Republic" during her class visit in the first episode, not "New Republic". That would mean her knowledge of "current" things is at least 100 years or more old (the "High Republic would have just been "the Republic" to people who lived in it's era). The Old Republic credits suggest even older origins, since that time period is 1000s of years in the past. "The Barrier" is probably a screen against detection, but the planet/system could also be on a lost hyperspace lane, which would help keep it isolated.
