I like that it doesn't really look like typical Star Wars. We're so used to deserts, outposts, maybe jungles. I like getting out of the familiar and seeing something unconventional. I've often wondered about how typical families live in the universe, especially after the fall of the Empire. I love it already

We also haven’t seen every planet and culture. This looks like a place totally civilized with the same technology as the major city near it. We’ve really only seen homogeneous planets. If there is a major developed city the entire planet is that. Same with water, forest, sand and snow. Now that I think about it, all the non-major city architecture looks like it was made of clay with tech doors. We’ve never seen major city apartments scaled to single family homes.

I like the idea of a safe space for kids in the Star Wars universe; I mean not Every Planet has to be a dry ass desert or dirty/traffic-y mega city. This looks like a fun little adventure! 😊

Love seeing just a regular suburban Star Wars town with a little middle school and manicured lawns instead of a crazy planet-city, desert outpost, or space station.

I actually got more Harry Potter vibes, normal children board the train and instead of the world of magic, it’s Jedi. Can’t wait for December 3!

I love this trailer so much. It took me a minute to get use to the suburban look planet but there’s dozens of millions of planets out there in the Galaxy. It does look amazing!! ❤

“It doesn’t look real so it doesn’t feel real!” 😂 sorry guys love your channel but that quote made me laugh. I grew up with bad practical effects during the eighties. Where nothing looked real you just had to imagine it was anyway.

@Themoviecouple, 5:45 I agree with a lot you are saying about the opening, but I guess Jon Favreau could argue that Lothal and Ahsoka set this type of society up. Coruscant made us believe that the world of Star Wars looked more like Back to the Future with its highways in the sky, but the latter Star Wars stories, the ones just mentioned, told us that there are worlds in which the highways are still very much ground level too. The Mandalorian, by way of Grogu, showed us what a classroom looks like too, so that helped make this story feel possible within the Star Wars world. This trailer reminded me a lot of the '80s Sci-Fi movies aimed at kids, Explorers, and Flight of the Navigator, though I see elements of the Goonies too. I wonder if that'll appeal to kids of today. I think the nostalgia factor of those movies will appeal to fans who group up in the 80s, for sure, but will the same formula work today? I guess we'll find out this December.

I didn’t mind the suburbia look. There are thousands of planets why can’t one look like that. If there are forest, water, desert planets there has to be some that look like that. I’m really loving the Goonies and Stand by Me vibes. I’m definitely excited about it.

Well it’s about time we got an announcement with an official release date. This show got heavily delayed, but at least the cast and crew will be able to promote it. I’m looking forward for whatever Jon Watts took part in producing.

There have not been a lot of kid stories in Star Wars. The Ewok shows were one thing, but this looks very different. Good? Bad? We shall see. I have hope.

I agree! This does not feel like your typical Star Wars movie or tv show for this matter! 🤔The suburban Star Wars throwing me off too! 😅I never watched the Goonies so I cannot fully understand what everyone is saying in the comments in regard to it being similar. It still looks interesting so I am curious to see how this show will go. Loved seeing the force trick at the end with Jude Law! 😲

@packedentertainment28665 ай бұрын
The suburban area kinda takes me out of it. I know there’s like a million planets in Star Wars lore but that doesn’t feel very Star Wars-y. Even in clone wars when the main characters would travel to so many different & unique planets throughout the series, none of em looked like this. This environment doesn’t feel like Star Wars but feels very real life environment but more Jetsons-like with the name Star Wars slapped onto it. It looks like maybe kids will like it but idk, doesn’t look like adults will really want to watch this but maybe that’s the point & goal that Disney wants.

So erm, what do you guys think about the Acolyte being cancelled not getting a second season? Do you think Disney are in the wrong here? This is the only project they've officially came out to confirmed is done and dusted. Everything else they've just quietly shelved and never spoken about.
@TheMovieCouple5 ай бұрын
We're not surprised it was canceled, but it is interesting that they announced it vs not speaking about it like the other projects, as you mentioned.
@RaikenXion5 ай бұрын
@@TheMovieCouple Maybe it's something to do with Bob Iger and his fiduciary responsibility to his shareholders why he had to officially announce it's cancellation. I do wish the Acolyte fans would stop blaming those of us that didn't like the show, and drop all this racism reasons. It's clear looking at the statistics that show has the lowest viewing ratings out of all the Starwars D+ shows.

Visuals are pretty good but other than that this looks pretty 🗑 it barely even looks like Star Wars not to mention who asked for this show
@ericb92525 ай бұрын
Do you people ever stop complaining?
@EM-fl5od5 ай бұрын
“who asked for this show” is the same thing y’all said about Andor.. the general Star Wars audience needs to accept that they don’t actually know what they want… even when people get what they want, they just call it “nostalgia bait” since all people ask for is old stuff
@CaptainPikeachu5 ай бұрын
Shockingly, sometimes you can make stories that people didn't ask for. The whole "who asked for this" comment is just very silly and shallow. Nobody asked for Star Wars, yet it exists because someone wanted to tell that story and now it's become a huge franchise. Not everything has to be "asked for" in order to justify existing. If creatives simply wanna tell a fun exploration kids adventure story, they can, they don't need to justify it any more than that. And maybe we stop gatekeeping Star Wars to just one singular way of how it can look, maybe we have some imagination and do something different.

Taika Waititi is filming Klara and The Sun with Jenna Ortega as Klara an Artificial Friend. In my mind Taika 's film resembles the Skeleton Crew world with a British countryside, not American.
