@@CaptainJ62 yes! I am so glad the Empire managed to get it because that means it will come back. If the Bad Batch dealt with it, it would've been one and done and would've felt a little more like just fan service. Now, it has more story significance than just tying up a lose end from 13 years ago. And my question is, how are they going to stop the Empire's plan with it, because we definitely know that Stormtroopers don't wear Zillo Beast armor, so the Empire's plan definitely doesn't succeed.

I have a feeling those lingering shots of Scorch weren’t just for fanservice. He and the rest of Delta Squad are down a sniper, maybe Crosshair teams up with them to hunt the Bad Batch? The Bad Batch are down a sniper as well, maybe they’ll head to Kashyyyk in a future episode and find Sev surviving in the jungle.
@brettdiving2744

Based on the game yes, but I also got to point out that in the books, when Omega Squad works with Delta Squad, Scorch is portrayed not nearly as lighthearted as the game does. He does have comedic moments sure, but Scorch is significantly more solemn overall in the books. Then again, we don't spend nearly as much time with Delta as we do Omega in the novels, so there's that too. Anyway, yeah I'd LOVE to meet up with Boss and Fixer. Hell, I just want a series adaptation of the Republic Commando novels and game honestly lol. I adore all those characters and story.

This was an amazing episode, and I made MANY notes afterwards: *(1)* A smoking ship exiting hyperspace at an angle is an excellent way to start the episode. I was reminded of a trailer for _The Mandalorian_ Season 2 that started with the Razor Crest drifting through space, with its backdoor open and its lights flickering. *(2)* I loved seeing a Clone Commando running scared at the beginning. Even though they haven't done much in the show, it immediately ups the threat of whatever he's running from. *(3)* Doctor Hemlock is a great, pulpy name for an evil geneticist, given that in real life, hemlock is a poisonous plant. *(4)* I appreciate that we got to see the Bad Batch be hostile with Sid after she left them for dead in _The Crossing._ I also like that they haggled for 50%, even if they should have been getting that all along. *(5)* I loved Omega getting scared at the idea that the crew were eaten. Being eaten alive is such a base, primal fear that it makes sense the child in the group would react with horror while the veterans think _"Yeah, it'll probably try to eat us."_ Much like her seeing the best in people, she probably hadn't considered that possibility in past encounters with violent animals. And although I believe Omega DID think she could help Tech's research, I wonder if she also had an ulterior motive of putting distance between herself and the Zillo. *(6)* In that same scene, I love that Omega timidly backs into Wrecker (the biggest and strongest of her brothers), whether she realises it or not. *(7)* I love Wrecker looking out for Omega's emotional state, again, showing how he's grown as a character beyond The Strong One. *(8)* I REALLY love that before Hunter says his line, Tech holds up his finger. I'm interpreting that quick gesture as Tech being about to reword his statement, remembering how he'd upset Omega in _The Crossing._ *(9)* I loved the suspense in this episode of wondering what the threat was. The opening scene made me think of _Death Troopers_ (a novel from Legends about zombies on an abandoned Star Destroyer), which I've always thought would make for a great episode of _The Mandalorian._ After seeing Mount Tantiss, I considered that it could be a Zillo Beast. When Wrecker found the electrostaff, I was reminded of a shot from the trailer of a Zillo-looking animal being electrocuted amidst plumes of smoke. When the Bad Batch found a laboratory, I went back to my _Death Troopers_ thinking, because the novel includes a laboratory from which the zombie virus escaped. When Omega identified Kaminoan technology, I went back to the idea of the Zillo, because though I'm sure cloning technology could be part of bioweapon experimentation (making identical subjects to test the effects of a virus, so you have fewer genetic variables to account for), cloning a Zillo is more straightforward. And when Tech said that the research was centred around armour, I knew that it HAD to be the Zillo after all. It was a very fun journey to go through, as a viewer. *(10)* I looked at the Zillo Beast's back when we first saw at its final form, and I didn't spot a hand on its third arm. Maybe I missed it, but that could be another sign that it's underdeveloped, along with its smaller size. *(11)* The Imperials know to fire on the power station, not the Zillo Beast itself, because of their research. When they DO attack the Zillo, it's with a version of the cannons from Malastare, but clearly modified to be more potent. *(12)* Hunter passing along the intel to Rex and Echo was a good moment. I wonder if they'll try to expose it to the Senate, or if that would do any good. Palpatine could just say he wants to make armour and ships stronger for the galaxy, and the Senate would likely love the sound of that. Still, I think this could mark a change from the Bad Batch avoiding the Empire.

23:51 I found you saying that Scorch didn't seem happy, and noticing that without knowing his personality in the SW Republic Commando game is very interesting. In the game he's actully a very jolly fellow clone, in fact one that seemed to not always take his profession seriously and not a typical commando, even being the one to say anything in the comms during missions, and to see him stripped of all that personality is sorta hard to watch, especially now with the theory that he is aware and unhappy, before i was just suspecting it was the inhibitor chip that effect his personality to be more serious, but with this episode having been the first time hearing him speak it sorta confirms that he is in fact not the Scorch that annoyed his teammates with his antics and humor, and seemed to be replaced with a default of a Clone Trooper. He may have the same armor, the same person but just the shell of what made his character special. I hope that at some point the Bad Batch shows a hint of what kind of creativity went into his character, whether by bringing him back somehow to his true self with the help of the Bad Batch or by him having some conflictions in her personality when perhaps at some point remembering his Delta Squad teammates or even seeing them. It made be a stretch or foolhardy to hope to see even a glimpse of the old Scotch.

I loved this episode so much! I felt like everything about it was just so amazing in every aspect. The the story, the action and how gripping and tense some of the scenes were made this episode feel so amazing. I also loved the score for this episode, it gave off both this dark and ominous tone and a suspenseful and kind of scary tone at times. And just like always, the animation is super beautiful, and stunning, it just seemed like every scene on theses different planets and interiors took things up to the next level when it came to the coloring and detail. It was all really amazing and just so visually pleasing with each new shot. And I loved the first scene of this episode, seeing that Clone Commando running scared through the destroyed halls of the ship and then for him to be pulled up by some unseen monster was really able to sell the Alien style horror theme that this was going for. And with the Bad Batch’s first scene of this episode I think that it is pretty much cemented that they will be leaving Cid. I mean Hunter literally said that they could, I just feel like after episodes 9 and 10 they are just so fed up with her that they will take their chances on their own rather then say working for her. And I think that with Hunter saying to contact Rex and Echo it won’t be long before they join them. And I mean I’ve got to talk about it, the Zillo Beast is finally back! This thing last showed up in Clone Wars in 2010, it’s been 13 years! We haven’t gotten an answer to the mystery of what happened to the Zillo Beast, until today. I’m so glad we finally got to see it again back in action, and that it actually plays a part in the overall story of the show. It was also really cool to see Nala Se again, especially since we learned that she refuses to work for the Empire because she knows what Palpatine wants. Which is probably for her to try and make clones of him, which also ties into the story for the sequels, and it’s always good to flesh out that story more. And I’m going to be honest, I thought that Rampart had Lama Su killed on Kamino in the end of season one. So I was really surprised to see him here, but it was interesting to hear what he had to say especially about Nala Se and her connection to Omega. I really just loved this episode so much. It was so amazing in every aspect and served as both a action packed thriller and as a fantastic way to advance the overall story of the Bad Batch series. I am super curious to see where the rest of the story will lead the Batch and what will happen in next week’s episode.

I feel like being the type of fan who grew up with Clone Wars is the best. Every Saturday morning, we got up and watched Star Wars, and it started out fun and light, but as it progressed, the show got darker and it grew as we did. Then, it was cancelled, and for the longest time, we were left to carry on without it. Then, after we all grew up, moving on to high school or young adulthood, it came back with the most serious and darkest arc to finish the entire show, perfectly fitting for the now grown generation that grew up on it. And now as the legacy of Clone Wars continues through The Bad Batch, this new show can delve into even darker and more serious subjects for the adults that Clone Wars raised to enjoy, and even things like the Zillo Beast can return after almost a decade and a half to keep paying off and giving back to this generation that grew up with Clone Wars. I really feel like there are times this show can definitely be adult Clone Wars, made just for the people who grew up on it 15 years ago for us to remember our childhoods.

Whoever wrote this episode has definitely ridden on the old “ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter” ride in the magic kingdom that they closed for being too scary. Went on that ride when I was 7. The recommended ride age limit was higher but the attendant said “sure” anyways. Nightmares for months lmao That kaminoan tube. straight out of the ride(obv the monster was from Alien too) Looking back, I’m glad I went on the ride now because I can say I have but it was SCARY AF

Aaron, it was like a dose of pure joy, to see your reaction to THE ZILLO BEAST. Great reaction to a great episode. My hypothesis is: The Zillo Beast is being mined for DNA to be used to create insanely fortified armor for either The Stormtroopers, The Commando Troopers, The Deathtroopers, or...armor for an elite army of troops made from the genetic coding of Omega...The Ultimate Clone Soldier. We'll find out what Omega was truly made/meant for, by the next few episodes. Should be an absolute crescendo. My guess?: Omega has the ability to procreate clones that possess at least 50% more natural strength, mental acuity, and advanced military stealth and tactical abilities...think, Captain America, The Winter Soldier, Jarod from the TV series, The Pretender, and Jason Bourne. May The Force Be With You...
@JessAnderson1988
@JessAnderson1988 Жыл бұрын
I don't think Omega's genetics have anything to do with this story. Her connection to Jango Fett was important to the Kaminoans when they were trying to convince the Empire to continue with a clone army, but all of that has been destroyed and the clone army has been discontinued. The Empire just wants her as leverage over Nala Se. They're thinking they can get Nala Se to do whatever they want if they threaten the life of the kid that she cares about.
@anthonyyoutubefan7567
@anthonyyoutubefan7567 Жыл бұрын
@@JessAnderson1988 Except, Nala Se cares about Omega, because she had the greatest hand in creating her. And, Omega was meant to be something more than just a genetic throwback to Arla Fett, Jango Fett's long-lost Sister. Lama Su has had designs for her, since The Empire decided to cancel their contract with The Kaminoans. If you remember, Lama Su instructed Nala Se to employ bounty hunters and mercenaries to locate Omega, so they could extract her unique DNA for their next evolution in Clone technology...with the caveat that Omega is to be executed, after her genetic make-up is removed. To Lama Su, she's a liability, at age 13, because she knows too much, and, if in the hands of others, she could be quite a threat to him, Kaminoans, and The Empire.
@JessAnderson1988
@JessAnderson1988 Жыл бұрын
@@anthonyyoutubefan7567 Yeah but that was all the Kaminoan's plans to stay in good favor with the Empire, which the Empire didn't care about. And Tech said himself that Omega is a pure genetic replica of Jango. I really think that's the extent of her uniqueness. Maybe the Empire will decide they could use her for something else, but I seriously doubt it. I think they have much bigger plans. Like working with the Zillo Beast. If I end up being wrong you can come back here and say "i told you so" :D
