Ultimately, star wars couldn't have been what it is without George's innovative vision and ideas. Fans may not always like the stuff that comes out but ultimately, george knows star wars better than any of us.

Based on the show anakin going dark side didn’t make much sense. Like yes he was frustrated with the Jedi but it was nowhere near to how the movies depicted. How he switch up in that short time is so unrealistic
@bacondorito
@bacondorito Жыл бұрын
@@johnkaiser709 are you shitting me? always see this. Anakin’s fall is perfectly laid out throughout the trilogy. In tpm he’s a child who’s grown up a slave, fearful and thinking about the future. He leaves his mom to become a Jedi and doesn’t know when or if he’ll see her again. He’s told he’s this prophecized “Chosen One” who will bring balance to the force and destroy the Sith. He’s then rejected because of his age, but is later allowed to continue because of a promise. 10 years later in aotc he’s an angsty teenager who has been told to shove his emotions away and not to give in to them. He’s also been having nightmares about his mother for some time, and Palpatine has been there as a father, guiding him along the way. Then he meets the girl he’s thought about every day in secret and is sent on a mission to protect her. Here he’s alone with her, and cringey as they may be his feelings come out, because there’s no one there to stop him. In fact, because he’s been so sheltered, it makes perfect sense as to why his flirting would be cringe. Then they leave for Tatooine when his nightmares get too intense to bear anymore. He tracks his mother down only to find out she’s been captured by tusken raiders and when he finds her she’s beaten, battered and bloody and she dies in his arms. Understandably, he gets a little pissed and slaughters the village in retribution, giving him his first true taste of the dark side. But he doesn’t do this with glee. He feels bad about it. “I’m a Jedi, I’m better than this!” It isn’t time for him to turn yet. Events continue, Padmé and Anakin are about to be executed, and they confess their feelings. The Clone Wars start, Anakin and Padmé get married in secret. Flash ahead 3 years, Anakin’s the Hero with no Fear, he’s basically a celebrity to the Republic at this point, and he swoops in to rescue the Chancellor with Obi-Wan. He kills Dooku at the behest of said Chancellor, his other mentor, his father figure if you will. And he beat him by giving into his hatred. They crash, Anakin is finally reunited with Padmé after the Outer Rim Sieges, and what’s the first thing he hears? “I’m pregnant.” Shit goes south from there rather quickly because his fear returns, something he’s been hiding for a while. He starts having nightmares again, this time about Padmé dying. He asks Yoda for help, but all he says is to deal with it, essentially. The Chancellor elects Anakin to the council, only for the council to not make him a master. Mastery would’ve allowed him access to the restricted section of the archives, which would’ve had information on life preservation and such. Understandably, he’s pissed. The council then assigns Anakin to spy on his friend Palpatine, who subsequently tells him about learning to save others from death, but not from a Jedi. During all this emotional drama going on, Yoda has left for Kashyyyk, and Obi-Wan leaves to go kill Grievous(which Anakin wanted to be a part of, but the council shut down). This left him vulnerable, alone, and ripe for the Sith to snag him. He becomes snappy at any mention of Obi-Wan from Padmé, not wanting his help. When Obi-Wan engages Grievous, Mace tells Anakin to get a reaction out of the chancellor to get a clue to his intentions. He does so and is revealed, at the perfect time, when no one is there to help him, that his mentor, his father figure, is a Sith Lord. Rushing to turn him in, Mace is the highest ranking council member present. In Mace’s haste he rushes to arrest him but tells Skywalker to his face to stay behind because he doesn’t trust him. Nothing like getting shit on in your defining moment, especially as The so called “Chosen One.” So after some heavy contemplating in the council chambers, he does what he thinks is best at that moment, and what will save Padmé’s life. He rushes to the Senate and sees Mace about to kill the only solution to his situation. So he turns. He assists in the murder of Master Windu. At this point there’s no turning back. He’s fully committed to saving Padmé. The Jedi failed him. So he does what must be done. He does not hesitate. He shows no mercy. Order 66 commences. The temple burns. And the Jedi burn with it, all of them. By the time he gets to Mustafar and slaughters the separatist council, he’s so far gone and twisted by the dark side that he fully believes Obi-wan had turned Padmé against him. He just wants more and more power at this point, his original goal is foggy to him. So he duels Obi-wan, and loses. Only when he gets put in the suit does he remember what this was all for. And when he’s told that he killed her, he has no one left, except the shadow. And that shadow is the emperor. The Clone Wars adds even more reasons because for some reason all of that wasn’t enough. Yoda gives Anakin a padawan so he can learn to let go, but we see how that turns out. He can’t. The council, with only circumstantial evidence of a crime she didn’t commit kicks Ahsoka out of the order and forces Anakin to do the investigating to save her. After he does, she leaves because she doesn’t believe in the order anymore. Anakin is obviously pissed. Obi-Wan also betrays Anakin’s trust when he fakes his death to go undercover. Nobody tells Anakin to make it believable. Understandably, Anakin goes out to seek justice against his master’s murderer. He captures him. That would’ve been the perfect time to tell him, but they don’t, and after he escapes, Anakin wants to end him. Obi-Wan has to knock him out with the force to stay alive. After he finds out, he’s understandably pissed. So it makes much more sense why he can betray them. They repeatedly betrayed him first.

Ive seen a lot of interviews with George, and this is the most relaxed ive seen him in an interview.
@ZombieAndroid
@ZombieAndroid 6 жыл бұрын
You can tell for that for him the stakes are a lot lower when working on this show. I feel like he was less pressured than when he was working on the prequels, because there he had to live up to a lot of expectations for making "another star wars movie". While with the clone wars he could do something completely different, while staying true to the source material.

I think the Genndy Tartakovsky microseries was better, tbh. Making a Clone Wars show set between the two Clone Wars movies (Episode II "begun, the clone war has." and Episode III - Order 66 is the conclusion of the clone wars) airing between the two movies just makes so much sense. Going back later and 'filling in the pieces' in retrospect with this show just feels like an unnecessary addition! Kind of like a lot of the special edition changes.
@megajoecaco786
@megajoecaco786 4 жыл бұрын
Dyland Pictures not really. These so called “unnecessary additions” were just George wanting to tell stories that were different to the movies, which helped the show in a large way because no two arcs felt similar to one another

I'm new to The Clone Wars, and I dig it. Now, I usually don't go in for animation that isn't straightforward "cartoons" (e.g. Looney Tunes, Family Guy), but in many ways this series really works. Two reasons in particular: (1) to depict the actual Clone Wars in live-action movies would take FOR EVER to make and would cost a hell of a lot of dough; and (2) there's so much CGI in Episodes II & III already that many things in the show look very nearly the same as they'd look in live-action movies anyway (!).

+N. W. Flitcraft The quality of animation in TCW is beyond amazing. Im a 3D Animator, its not just the animation, its the quality of art. I agree, the clonewars feels more natural than the prequels, But look at the quality of animation compared to rebels. Fanboys cry that they are trying to match the original triliogy, yes thats the animation style, thats excluding the poor quality of textures and clayish like features. Lucas may have been fucking starwars, but Disney is doing it much worse.

What I love a lot about George is the faith and confidence he had in his employees. He saw their work and how good it was and said “this deserves to be put on the big screen”. For the whole show’s run George was had so much faith and really pushed the team, and thanks to that, the show season after season flowed, looked great, and had compelling stories that became a true juggernaut on television

The Clone Wars movie is awful but the series is awesome. I was very surprised with the gorgeous CGI animation, talented voice actors, deeper character development and the more complex stories and a sometimes darker tone than you might expect. They are way better than the prequel films themselves and feels more like old school Star Wars but bringing a lot of new things as well. The Clone Wars show is a lot closer of what I imagined Obi-Wan and Anakin's adventures would be when I first saw the Original Trilogy.

Lot of Clone Wars done realize, mainly because they’re misguided (while the rest are just stupid and not real fans) is that Lucas was the one who wrote story ideas, came up with the concepts, guided his crew, approved of the voice actors, etc. this was his show, not Dave’s. People wanna be little George and praise Dave. When all Dave was, was just a supervising director and collaborator. People need to give Lucas more credit by being true fans instead of being toxic but slamming Lucas all because of the prequels. The clone wars show turned out exactly the way he wanted it to. If he didn’t like what was going on, he’d say how he felt and cancel the show. But he didn’t. The only Star Wars the was Dave’s was Season 7. Which no offense was a disappointment

Very interesting interview. I feel that a live action Clone Wars movie would’ve been better because the essence wouldn’t have been touched/twisted too much. We would have realistic versions of Ashoka or Ventress, and we would’ve seen Count Dooku as the main villain, therefore, it makes more sense.
