Can we all please just appreciate how Star Wars has brought so much happiness to people? Seriously, the hype for this film is over the top, everything looks so familiar but also extremely, vastly different, like a sort of water planet (and just swimming and diving in general), the darker, more professional looking costumes, the new planet Crait with all the red stuff flying around, of course our so, so beloved characters like Rey, Finn and especially Luke and Leia, who I miss so, so dearly much, the props like the lightsaber and X-Wings etc, it's so many things that may be so small that gets us all extremely excited and pumped for this film. I really think this one will be extraordinary, it looks as fantastic and new as it can get... I'm literally done for this evening and I'm as happy as I haven't been in a long while. Thank you, Lucasfilm and Disney for all this.

Lukesmissinghand the prequels had lots of sets and models built, but the cgi layers were off. They used cg in all the wrong places (the clones are a good example) and simply covered the screen with cgi layers. its a shame because they did make a lot of stuff for them.

This behind the scenes video never fails to hype me up. The Last Jedi was truly something special. The writing, acting, music, cinematography, visual effect...everyone making that film was firing on all cylinders and helped make one of, if not THE best Star Wars films period. Certainly my favorite. I'd love to see Rian come back to the franchise one day. Even if it's just to direct a quick episode of a Disney+ show. And I'd love to see more of the Sequel characters. Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, and Ben deserve more stories.

So many movies have CGI you just don't notice (ie 2010 The Wolf of Wall Street). Helicopters and cars in chases are often CGI at least for some shots. The use of only practical effects needs to be left in the dust.
