Star Wars: The Prequel Trilogy - The Force Awakens Mashup

I did not want to make this. I am an ardent critic of the prequels and everything that it is. However, someone dared me to use Force Awakens to make them look as good as possible. I couldn't deny such a challenge. Here is the result.

I like the prequel trilogy because it filled in all the questions of the original trilogy. like anakins deception to the dark side and the sith. the clone wars. the extermination of the Jedi and the fall of the republic. palpatines rise to power and manipulation that created the empire. I also highly recommend the anti cheese edits of the prequel trilogy, if anyone hasn't seen them yet. there really good. But I love the original trilogy a lot more.i really can't wait for the force awakens and the start of the sequel trilogy.

+NachBaliye 42 The greatest thing I love most about the prequels, is Lucas' idea of retelling Citizen Kane in a Star Wars setting. That is brilliance. The amount of potential to get from that is sky-high. And trying to deliver a feel that is different from the original trilogy is something I am 100% with. But sadly, Lucas botched it so so badly. Most of which goes to the premature drafts he released. This can be subjective obviously, anyone (in any great number of people) can love anything that is objectively awful, and yes, it has been proven, time and time again, that the prequels are a cinematic catastrophe, stringed together by an abominably large laziness of creativity. Does this mean that anyone who takes a personal liking to the prequels are idiots? Of course not. But for so many people like myself (and not just a tiny fraction), have seen these movies and said to themselves: With all the infinite resources at your back and what could be the greatest fictional universe ever invented, *This is all you could give us?* Obsessive lightsaber usage? A talking cartoon rabbit? Cartoon aliens? Consistently terrible dialogues and romance? Star Wars deserves so so much better.

+Medley Weaver That's what you want to see. You fail to see the way Anakin was portrayed is consistent with what is needed. Anakin is training to be a Jedi. No emotion. No attachment. No love. And surely no teaching on how to pick up a lady either. Obviously, he will be awkward with the one girl he has been crushing on madly for years. That's really how you should read the whole romance between Padme and Anakin. What's wrong with obsessive lightsaber use? THE JEDI ORDER ARE AROUND. You are watching the main characters who are Jedi. Are you expecting anything something else? You expect Jedi to use blasters? So uncivilized. For a thousand years the Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. Said Obi-wan in the Originals. You expect, what, 3 or 4 Jedi to help maintain order in the entire galaxy? Really? Obviously there will be more Jedi. And yet, not enough for them to do everything. They numbered about 10,000 during the time of Episode III.

Xepthrichros I don't mind romance at all. I don't mind Anakin stumbling around on awkwardly being seduced by something that he wants, and resenting his teachers for denying that to him. That's not the problem. Execution is always key. *Subtlety* is key. The fact is that these scenes were all in your face and not handled well at all. The "I don't like sand" sums up in one sentence how bad the romance is in the prequels. The strength of the Jedi has been established by Yoda himself, to always come from the mind. Coming from patience and meditation, coming from logic and the Force itself, that is their tool and skill first and foremost. To defeat your enemies without engaging them, is the tactic of the most brilliant generals. That is what the Jedis are. Their lightsabers only deployed as the *very last* resort. When you are cornered and have exhausted all options, like Obi-Wan in A New Hope. This awesome dogma is thrown away completely in the prequels (Any problem you see and bam: lightsabers). Luke is an exception because he was still learning throughout the trilogy. The Jedi's numbers are irrelevant, there can be hundreds of thousands and I wouldn't mind. It's all in the execution.

The sayings of a retired Jedi Master (Yoda), who has had many years of isolation to meditate and revise what he formerly believed during the time he was still a Jedi, do not reflect everyone in the Order. It won't reflect how the Order was when it was active. Also, there will be a lot of individual differences between members of the Order. In the time that has passed... being even older than he was before, it also won't surprise me if he develops the "back in my day everything was better" mindset that people tend to get as they grow older. They also had a Clone War handed to them, started by Palpatine whom they failed to detect is the Sith Lord they were looking for. They were played and forced into combat situations. We saw Palpatine himself going "Our clone intelligence units" and all that rubbish made-up stories. He is playing both sides and just telling the Jedi through so-called clone intelligence units, where to engage next. Regardless to whether the Jedi think lightsabers are the last resort, they have to use it when you have a gun pointed at your face. Palpatine was making certain of that by orchestrating the whole war. And about the romance, so you think it is too "in your face"? Interesting, and there are those who say Anakin's behavior is too robotic and lacking expression. What you want to see is probably Episode 0. Where everything was at peace and the Jedi had no issues with the dark side clouding everything, no war handed to them, and they had full control.

Xepthrichros There's a theory I very much like that the Jedi Order have been corrupted by their dogma. The belief that they are above law, and that they are so sacred, they revere their beliefs down to the very core. I like this because it shows their blindness which Palpatine exploited and the inevitable downfall that came. But this theory (one of the few actually good ones) goes to the dumpster if the Jedi simply chooses to "do what they want" regardless of Yoda's teachings. And war is still *not* an excuse to flip out lightsabers at every given opportunity. As I said, genius generals defeat their enemies without engaging them. In fact, they shouldn't be in the battle at all! They're not super soldiers in the Republic's command. These are wise monks that lead by example, not warriors. That is what the Jedis are, and with Yoda as Grand Master, we should be expecting this attitude to be strictly followed even if there are some renegades on the ground. And if there *are* renegades or changes in the Order's attitude from centuries of tradition, we should be *seeing* Yoda commenting his disapproval. But we don't. We see none of it. Instead George Lucas has to destroy the genius that was in Empire Strikes Back and hand Yoda a green lightsaber. Oh no, Anakin doesn't lack expression, he's just an idiot. What I meant with "in your face" is that the story *does not know* subtlety. Instead of showing us proper romance, by providing Anakin with well thought-out loving and silent gestures to Padme, he has to tell her to her face that he wants to be her boyfriend. That is not good writing, and there's no excuse to draw from it.
