I wish the Corellian Corvettes were given more respect in the series. Or at least consistent. Picked off by lone fighters one moment, taking down two transports and a light cruiser the next. One thing I hope is addressed in the Attalon video: Is it just me or do the Rebels *never* fire their ship weapons? I think I've only ever seen them do it once or twice.

Basically the Phoenix Fleet consisted of everything that turned up at the local Imperial scrapyard that day or ships which the Imperial captain forgot to lock and take the keys out of the ignition. A variety of ships is good, but the mismatched nature means that the respective crews of each ship are trained to perform at their best on that single (type of) ship. You can't take a crew from a carrier and shove it into a battleship without having to spend massive time and money on re-training. Since the Empire used the ISD for almost everything, their crews could easily be transferred from ship to ship without any noticable loss in efficiency. The crew of the Ghost performed so well because it knew that ship down to the last detail.

The Imperial Navy used Clone Wars era Venator an Victory-class star destroyers for several years after the rise of the empire. I think it was up till 14 or 13 BBY. And some rebel cells used old CIS Providence-class ships. And yes, all of this is canon.

I would have loved to see venators in the rebel fleet. Problem is that most were scrapped on Bracca after the clone wars and the rebels would have a hard time finding people to crew those large ships.

The R-22 Spearhead is a fine craft. Fast and Agile sporting a pair of pretty powerful albeit slow firing guns. Though there is very little difference between it and the standardized RZ-1 A-Wing.

I like Rebels, but the way they portray A-Wings is really concerning. I understand that they are just a tool to move the plot along, but they seem slow and unmaneuvrable as a result. In old cannon they were some of the most maneuvrable ships with awesome sublight speeds but weak shields and no astromech. To me it seems like they needed a ship that was suppose to be bad, so that when the X-Wing comes out, it will make a big impact and show the growth of the Rebelion. It seems they missed one thing. That ship existed in the old cannon. Z-95 Headhounter was just that. A-Wing deserves better.

That was really dumb on the Story Groups part. The A-wing should have really been a great interceptor, great agility AND defense, like in Legends. They definitely did not need to use it as an early Rebel ship since the Z-95 was already used in TCW.

SoltyII Portrayed? Technically they are supposed to be superior to tie fighters. They are supposed to be really fast and super maneuverable (spelling....). They are portrayed like snow speeders in space, very slow and very stiff in movement. The Pelta Frigate version of Home One was the best. They are underselling it as this was a modified and heavily armored pelta class frigate with turbolasers and point defense laser weapons. With that being said it doesn't really matter even if they some how squeezed the load out from a Liberty Cruiser on Phoenix home, it doesn't help if they don't use them.

Why didn't the empire continue the use of the Venator class instead of using Quasar Fire-class's? they would have served the role better by carrying FAR more fighters and bombers, but would also have similar power and armament not unlike a star destroyer, I think it would have been a great carrier for the empire

Plus 12 galaxy killing 30,000km diameter Halo's, and another 7 smaller galaxy killing 10,000km diameter Halo's. Only a few races can manage to do that... they held dominion over the whole galaxy, could manipulate gravity and physics at will, and in my opinion achieved far greater feats of technology than the majority of all other sci-fi races

Oh and they were tested, and actually used, so wiped out all life with even a rudimentary nervous system all across the galaxy with some advance method of some kind (because the flood need food to survive, the flood are basically the galaxies way of Samuel L. Jacksoning your ass), but then in order to prevent a lifeless galaxy, they stored life on the ark (get these religious references?) from the various planets they got specimens from to reseed the galaxy after the flood were gone... at least they thought they were gone.

and these weapons were one of last resort, as the Forerunner empire collapsed against the onslaught of the flood, and in order to prevent them from infesting the whole galaxy, they fired the Halo array, also sacrificing the shattered remnants of their race, with a few rare exceptions who were stored in places safe from the Halo's effects. Only things left over were their structures, machines and AI's.

Hey spacedock, great video, I've always loved your colabs, hey once you've done that b-wing video, I thought It'd be cool to compare a smaller star wars ship like maybe the cr90 corvette to the mcrn donnager, I feel like it would make an interesting comparison, sure a star wars ship is pretty fast in travel but sunlight I feel like the donnager might be able to keep up, the cr90 is half the size but it's turbolazers would be pretty deadly I think and while it has shields I feel like the donnagers torpedoes with nuclear warheads might tip the tide, just kinda an interesting match I think. might even be cool to take the donnager with it's light frigate compliment and the cr90 with a couple of a-wings attached. anyhow, great videos thanks for your content!!

The very fact that "Thrawn" couldn't take down a single ship(The Ghost) really pisses me off for the real Grand Admiral Thrawn would've wiped out that ship as well as the whole Phoenix Fleet in short order and yes I'm not the biggest fan of Rebels.
