It's sad the comic didn't include the exchange between Thrawn and Nightswan about the Republic and Empire and Thrawn's views about where it will lead. I really liked that bit in the book. Still professional work as always guys.
@MrJH1014 жыл бұрын
Really? So what did they say?
@billygrantham53804 жыл бұрын
@@MrJH101 In short that Nightswan wanted the Republic to return with all it's freedom. While Thrawn was more inclined to keep the Empire because from his perspective the Republic was so broken that it led to the most destructive conflict ever seen that led to it's downfall and that while bad, the Empire won't be the same forever. That the emperor will eventually die and new leadership will rise and change the Empire without going into a galactic war again.
@RenaldyCalixte3 жыл бұрын
@@billygrantham5380 You also forgot how Nightswan concluded that Thrawn's viewpoint was naive. That Palpatine created a cult of personality that made the Empire a morally reprehensible system from a foundational level. Palpatine craved power for power sake and unlike Thrawn wasn't fixated on creating an authoritative system to protect the weak. Nightswan correctly deduced that Thrawn was ignoring the impact the Empire's moral failings had on the galaxy. Nightswan in the end was correct. The Emperor eventually viewed Thrawn as a threat and ignored his motivations or skills. Why? Because Thrawn was so effective Palpatine saw him as a threat to his seat of power. Palpatine ignored their agreement and the plight of Thrawn's people to protect himself. This proved Nightswan's point.

So Thrawn is primarily loyal to the Chiss, and his Imperial career is both to ensure the Chiss are safe from the Empire and to prepare for an alliance in the event that the galaxy is attacked by a greater evil like, say, the Yuhzon Vong?
@RenaldyCalixte3 жыл бұрын
In Canon they're called the Gryssk. But yeah they're similar to the Yuhzon Vong.
@teedepefanio49743 жыл бұрын
@@RenaldyCalixte such a bummer they replaced the REAL cannon we grew up on... Chewie's death was amazing.. a whole planet? And they replace our cannon with Disney's pathetic stand-ins? They have little to no depth, by comparison. Its like replacing LOTR with the AD&D B-1 modules. Funny how these Disney idiots pulked Thrawn from our stories, yet the Vong aren't good enough to spare from Disney's destruction of a franchise... hell, the most amazing Star Wars stories are all from fans... cra-cra
@RenaldyCalixte3 жыл бұрын
@@teedepefanio4974 Yeah you're right. Hopefully Disney canon continues to improve. At least Timothy Zahn is authorized to work on it. But it does suck if you spent a lot of time with Legends continuity. Maybe they take more and more things from Legends and make it canon. I'm willing to be hopeful about that.
@teedepefanio49743 жыл бұрын
@@RenaldyCalixte Ah... hope! My favorite word.. be well, Mr Calixte.. cool last name. Zahn wrote some amazing Forgotten Realms books, as well... definitely a must to pick up Thrawn, of course. As a parent, i often get stuck with an audio book, instead of the real thing, time being precious to sooo many.. Slowly reading thru an R.A. Salvatore novel, lately... finally finished all of Barsoom, during COVID.. Now that, my friend, is a Sci-Fiction masterpiece. And from the creator of Tarzan, no less...the latest Drizzt novels are as epic as they ever were, as well. If you've never read them, pick up Homeland and prepare yourself to be swept away by a grand tale, indeed. When George Lucas wrote the episode 2 script, he only had one person in mind for being the author of the story with Master Yoda's first saber battle... the creator of Menzoberranzan, the inventor of the Underdark, and most of all, the man who brought D&D fans to the feet of the Ranger, Drizzt, and the "written choreography of a sword fight. " Truly, this guy would have been a great DM.

Thrawn is very creepy in this comic and Arihnda too. We knowed that what happened what we saw in Rebels but we must see them with Moff Gideon, Morgan Elsbeth, Maul, Gar and Tiber Saxon and even Barriss Offee that she is watching over them in Bad Batch and even the miniseries about Darth Vader and the sequel of Solo
