To balance the negativity in this comment section here are some cool Star Wars facts: 1. Yoda was almost played by a monkey. 2. Depending on the movie, Yoda has a different number of toes. 3. Lightsaber noises came from an old television. 4. The original Return of the Jedi ending saw Luke Skywalker turn evil. 5. Chewbacca had to be protected from bear hunters in RotJ.

I call BS on number 4. Kasdan wanted to do that, sure, but Kasdan didn't understand SW at all (evident by how bland and unimaginative Solo is). Lucas never wanted to do that. In fact you can find this in the Making of for ROTJ, where they show Kasdan and Lucas disagreeing on how to end. If you think about it, this is fairly obvious, because Lucas made the original movie as an antidote to all the gritty, cynical, depressing movies of the 70s. The only reason ESB ends the way it does is because it was setting up a final movie. Lucas wanted the middle act to be darker, not for SW to remain dark after ANH.

The thing about ranking star wars is that it’s a never ending loop and all the movies are so different. Like TFA, rogue one and mandalorian are my favourite because they got me into star wars but ESB and ANH are so amazing that i dont know where i want to put all these movies in a ranking. They are so different that it’s really hard comparing them. Also the timing of this video is incredible with the release date for the book of boba fett announced today.

I started playing the lego games and then tried to watch the movies, but could never get into it cause I also thought the first one was “episode one”. Based on your ranking, I recommend the channel "So Uncivilized", and two videos that explore the prequels; 'The Prequels are Better Movies Than You Deserve' and 'Prequel Apologetics'. It won't necessarily change your opinion (and doesn't have to either), but it is well reasoned counter argument to the typical flawed prequel assumptions and criticisms of RedLetterMedia et al. Dave Filoni also explained why Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were both in TPM in the Mandalorian gallery. Cast design (in writing) is about having different characters with different perspectives and conflicting mindsets that help describe each other (i.e. Qui-Gon is unorthodox and Obi-Wan follows the rules. You can put all the Jedi on a scale of how dogmatic they are). And example of your criticism; "Why does Obi-Wan stay on the ship?" To protect the queen. And Obi-Wan is ready to be a knight. He's basically independent. Jar Jar (like TPM) is about childhood, that's why he becomes increasingly less important in the trilogy. They didn't completely change AOTC because of TPM. Dooku is mentioned in TPM. You can dislike the prequels if you want, for a wide variety of reasons, but your reasoning here is weak, and full of inaccuracy.

I think with Clone Wars, it's not fair to think of it as whole because it's longer than all the Star Wars movies combined. I would split it into 2 and just sort the good from the bad and rank it that way so I would put Clone Wars (good/great part) at the top, and Clone Wars (bad/mediocre part) at the bottom

I actually think Anakin in episode 2 was done really well. He's a teenager who's balancing the emotional time that is puberty with being in a religious order than shuns emotions. Don't get me wrong, the way they changed his relationships with people without explanation sucked, but I think they nailed what someone in his position would actually be like

I'm glad you like him, but honestly I've seen loads of arguments about how him being an angsty teenager is an excuse for bad writing and a bad portrayal. And Hayden Christensen isn't even a bad actor, he was just directed really poorly. But I'm really sick of people acting like he played Anakin perfectly, when he obviously didn't.

I have the exact same feelings about The Force Awakens as Seamus. It was the first Star Wars movie I got to see in theaters and it really just holds a special place in my heart for that and other reasons. Also fun fact, I got to see it THREE times in theaters (never thought that would happen), once when it first came out, again because some friends of ours had extra tickets, and a third time at a $3 drive in theater night😂

I’ll assume you mean the clone wars movie Of all my Star Wars opinions, Revenge of the sith vs clone wars movie is the one I’m least certain on after rewatching the clone wars movie I guess revenge of the sith has good stuff like yoda vs Palpatine, but then bad stuff like anakins arc that the clone wars movie and the show fixes While the clone wars movie I only have like 3/4 problems (episodes being condensed into movie was bad idea, I mean it was from the guy who invented jar jar) with, but those problems are quite big and there are like 9 smaller things I like about it (Anakin and obi-wan being different from their prequel counterparts and the christophosis battle) Personally, because I did a big chronological watch of the clone wars, I include the movie as a part of season 1 and it fits in quite well, where as revenge of the sith feels quite rushed, as episode 2 starts the war, beginning if episode 3 ends the war so the Jedi, Order 66 and separatists collapse aren’t really displayed well

Good list. Personally, I'd put Mandalorian higher and Last Jedi lower, but I really enjoyed your rationale for each ranking. I feel similar towards Force Awakens, though I had seen the Prequels in the Cinema.
