Game 2 he only had 7 left on the base like you said. HP didn't update after he took two from Cartel Spacer following Michal taking the initiative.

I am not sure why the "default" is to give the +2/+2 to the steadfast battalion if its not used to kill boba (or anything else with 7hp). Giving it to another unit, especially sabine gets her out of range of a lot of 5hp removal spells
