We played for the first time tonight and my partner picked Ventress. We both missed the use of her Ambition ability on each mission, would have made things so much easier! But here's what I wanna know - we had a VERY hard time with Strange Alliances bc we didn't understand when and how to remove Ally cards. Can you just do that whenever you want? What action lets you remove those cards? Great breakdown!

I can still see them doing Palpatine but from the prequel trilogy. And his objective is to successfully turn Anakin to the Dark Side. I personally want Grand Admiral Thrawn more than anything.

@@davidstone281 I thought a good idea for Palpatine would be for him to create and overcome various crises that get him from Senator to Chancellor to Supreme Chancellor to Emperor. I thought also having no Jedi in his Sector could be part of it, and maybe Anakin turning dark could figure in?

Very good video man. But I have a question for Infiltration do allies have to be in to the location in order for that card to work? Or can you just kick a fate card out when you don't have allies at the location? Thanks for the help!!

Just tried playing her against general grievous and I have to say, she has one major flaw. You can plan to complete the missions all you want but if people your playing against don’t fate you, your stuck. You have no other way to draw these heroes out (At least grievous has ambition cards to essentially fate himself) so he can collect his lightsabers.

Hey! The missions have an ambition action to force the fate cards into play. So you can actually get them whenever you want too :) I would recommend reading the rulebook missions rules again!

Wow another great video. I love all your villainous character breakdown videos. Just your opinion on the new Star Wars version. Do you think this game can be fun to play 1v1? I had a fun time doing that with the Disney version but for the Marvel version I had more fun with more then 2 players since you are playing a bunch on enemies boards/realms. I don't have a lot of friends that play board games so 1v1 is usually my go to. I pre-ordered this version and can't wait. I'm all about General Grievous and can't wait to see your video on his cards and how he is played.

Great video about Asajj Ventress ! But do you know if I can defeat Ashoka Tano or Anakin Skywalker with Count Dooku, during the mission Stinky 🤔 ?

You can use Dooku to defeat them, but when he is returned to your hand, the objective to have him in play is undone, until you put him back in play. The same would apply if Dooku is removed in some other way before you complete that mission. So to complete the Stinky mission, you would need to have Count Dooku in play after both Anakin and Ahsoka have been defeated. This is true of any other mission objective where you need to have a card in play. The objective is only done whilst that card remains in play.

Just played for the first time tonight and picked Ventress. I got the Witches mission right out of the gate, but then I couldn’t do any other missions as a few of the Heroes were defeated before I got to the others. Once my opponent knew what I needed to win, he stopped Fating me pretty much creating a no win situation. Is the only way around that to have three missions up ASAP? I feel it was a massive oversight to not have a villain card to help shuffle your Fate Deck with the discard pile.

Every mission card has an ambition ability that brings out what you need for the mission. So there is no way to not get what you need :)

@@danielnewman9937 found dookus orders is a way to force jedi into your sector! And it’s beneficial because you place the hero and an ally. Also Add to my collection allows for a lightsaber to be gained without defeating a hero :)

But you need eight light sabers and those card would not get you up to eight so if your opponent doesn’t fate you, would you have to go through your whole deck to get to those cards again?

Unfortunately they are not optimized for compatibility. However you could make your own rules to make it work.

The only issue and big issue I have with this character is that I was playing and no one would fate me so no heroes ever came out for me to fight and unlike the rest of the characters in this game set she has no way to fate herself so when people know this she's basically unplayable..... And you can't win with her

You can bring in the heroes you need with the ambition ability at the top of each mission. Read the missions section in the rulebook. And re - read her guide. You played her wrong! But give it another shot

My problem was having the hero I needed in the discard pile with no way to bring them out as my opponent also stopped fating me preventing the need to shuffle the discard pile with the Fate deck.

Major design flaw with Asajj Ventress is that she needs to defeat heroes from her fate deck to achieve 5 of her 6 missions (the exception of the "witches" that only requires you to play 3 different allies and an effect card) and consequently win the game. The problem I have with this is that she has absolutely NO card in her deck (unlike Kilo or Grieveous) that allows you to go through your fate deck and find a hero to put on your board. That means if other players do not fate you, then you simply can't win the game since you need to achieve three missions to win the game. Literally, other players can simply ignore the Asajj player all game long, never fate him/her and they will ensure that the Asajj player will never be in a position to achieve 3 missions and consequently win the game. For a game that is advertised as an asymetrical strategy game, well there is a massive lack a strategy here as well as a HUGE design flaw in how that character plays and performs in the game. Poorly made is an understatement!

Read the mission rules in the rulebook. I briefly speak on it in this video. You are missing a key rule. There are ambition actions to bring the elements you need on the mission cards themselves. This problem will be averted when you use the correct rules. Either way - I hope you enjoy playing in the future after reading up on missions! :)

@@LordoftheBoard You are correct, went through the rules again and it is indeed explained in a tiny paragraph in the middle of page 14 of the rules. Maybe they should have made this way much clearer, it looks like the small prints in a credit card contract, something that is here for you but the bank doesn't want you to know. I'll try playing as her again now knowing we can just summon fate heroes needed to complete the missions using ambition. Thank you so much for your reply! ;)

Unfortunately she’s incredibly weak. Yeah you have an influence space on each board, but thats one per turn. You’ll know what I mean when you play, it’s an incredibly slow villain.
