Can anyone explain to me what happened? I just started with EVE (4 days ago) and I don't understand. My theory: They have a POS and changed some "password" so that their own ships, who where inside the bubble got rejected and they used to force ot the repulsion to gain some distance for safe jumping. Correct?

@@nicholasparker2086 starburst and dredbuchet both used the pos shield password changing to fire a ship out. With starburst the goal is to gtfo from a pos under siege and jump away capitals or super caps. A dredbuchet is when a dread enters siege mode before a starburst and because siege mode increases the weight of dreads by a lot it will make it a wrecking ball of sorts. They both had thier uses before pos's were basically gutted from the game.

@@umadbroimatroll7918 I loved POSes albeit they needed quite a lot of fixing and the spam of POS infrastructure was a bit LOL. Heading into the isolated depths of w-space in the early days of it when 80% was uninhabited and setting up a POS had a real exploratory feel which I think is missing in Eve now.

well when you change a POS password everyone with the wrong password cant enter the shields anymore, so it ejects you at crazy speeds. This carrier fleet was bubbled into the pos, which was going to explode, probably getting them rapecaged by the dreads and titans. so they changed paswords and it rockets all the ships out into space, past the bubbles and they jump out like viking warriors.

The Pantheon of old was 5 reppers in highs with Dedicated Energy Carriers feeding all the repping carriers. problem is what if those energy carriers are DDed or otherwise killed or jammed.

they require you to either be able to fly multiple battleships with almost maxed skills or fly capitals, theres a reason they are some of the best capital pilots in eve.

Big fan of RNK, and was really disappointed when you guys backed out of a fight yesterday in lowsec (forget system name). Tower was coming out of reinforce and you were reported to be prepping to jump the tower reppers, but backed out without a fight.

If you mean Agoze tech moon yesterday, I think you are starting to imagine RnK appearing anywhere and everywhere :P But that tower was not owned by RnK, not reinforced by RnK, nor by blues of RnK, nor was there any fleet up for it. It was scouted only 10minutes before coming out of reinforced... So sadly a fight like the one in this battle report was always unlikely.

Also worth asking, I have never myself tried it, but woulnd't activative the triage module of the carriers inside a tower and then changing the pasword magnify this effect with their increased mass from triage module? Of course this is useless unless you time it exactly so you drop triage in time to jump :P
