KKR looks a lot more solid this season. The return of Shreyas Iyer and the rise of Rinku Singh are a big part of that. If Rana and Iyer can have consistent seasons, like they did last year, and Russell can turn up without being injured, then they have a top class first XI because the bowling looks strong with Starc in the side, despite being overpriced.

@@justsaiyan3294 I don't think you can realistically have same quality backups as your first choice. Given the demand, having a backup at all is important though spending a quarter of your budget on one player doesn't help. The Roy/Gurbaz is an issue for sure, because I think KKR would want to have Roy as first choice opener, but then will be forced to use Bharat which leaves the XI imbalanced. I guess the impact sub will be very important for them. They will probably sub in Bharat for Venky if they bat first, and Venky for one of their bowlers if they bowl first.

Atkinson is not good...i don't know why they didn't go after ferguson who was the best KKR pacer during 2020-21.. matt Henry, Willey would have been also better Choice than Atkinson....but still overall team is looking much better than the last 2 seasons.. hope they'll make it to the playoffs 👍🏻

Look, ECB is keeping Atkinson ahead of Jofra in their team, so that may be a reason for choosing him. And as the price tag of Starc goes, he is going to play all the matches with the same intensity, so every bit of firepower that starc has, keeping in mind that he can bat as well, the replacement of starc is always a win-win.

Problem again comes down to form of Russell and Narine. With Gambhir back he will also back them but Russell haven't been performing really well recently with Bat and is always unreliable with ball . Narine has been bowling everywhere but his wicket taking ability has gone now in IPL since few years forget about his batting anymore. If they both don't perform backups such as Rutherford and Mujeeb are not great either. Roy and Gurbaz can play together then but no finisher is left then . Another important thing is Gurbaz isn't consistent either even though he has surely improved but not consistent and Bharat didn't even played any matches last year so his form is unknown completely wicket keeping might become a problem again like last year Jagadeeshan was forced to play . Bowling is another concern Starc wasn't in the best form in WC and the other three fast bowlers are all young and inexperienced. Chakravarthy had a good season but remember the season before that he was horrible and no updates on his form either as he hardly plays now apart from IPL and TNPL.

Well I have been a huge fan of KKR but honestly 24 cr for starc is just crazy. Remember he is at twilight of his career he is not the starc we saw in 2015 or 2019 WC , they should have gone for someone like coetzee Or a harshal patel (if they intend to make slow pitches in kolkata) . Remember starc does not have any fast bowler to pair up and create pressure of his stature which again just puts too much pressure on him. Him being an injury prone cricketer also don't support the cause. Also andre russel is well past his prime no matter what he do across the globe IPL is still the toughest league and he has been a shadow of what he was earlier hence a player like rowman powell could have been a good backup in case you want him to rest and then powell he is a clean striker. I don't know about others but KKR nahi hai taiyyar. Was excited to see gautam sir this year who always say that it's at the auction you win or lose 50% of tournament but this year I don't know what happened to him. This team can't win the tournament. In fact I will be surprised (in happy way) if they reach playoff.

Opener crisis that this guy is talking about is that Gurbaz is very inconsistent and if you get Roy in then you need a wicket keeper so that changes combination. Then they'll need to fit KS Bharat somewhere.

My first 11 for the knights Gurbaaz Roy Shreyash Rana Rinku Russel Ramandeep Starc Suyash Varun Chetan sakariya Venkatesh Iyer is very inconsistent from the last 2 years Roy has proved himself better so deserves a chance MI have lots of good players so they can't give everyone a chance so they released ramandeep, he is actually a fantastic player who hit a long with bat and also a great bowler at least better than Russel he can give a great support to starc and Chetan sakariya. Chetan sakariya should be in the playing 11 he have lots of variation and he proved his death bowling in RR but DC buyer him with 4.5 Cr and not gave chances he is really great bowler because of lack of chance he not appear for India the appreciation he got in RR is unmatched, it's strange that RR released him. EDEN and CHETHAMBURAM: Total 8 matches will be there in this ground if kkr is with 3 spinners by excluding sakariya and Json and taking Narine So there will be no shock. KKR is looking good, if they play at their best with good tactics KKR is winner
