I'm 5 2.5 ft weigh 153 lbs. going to turn 44 this year. Have no medical issues. But, my biggest goal has been to reduce inflammation especially in my knees. And now because I made the change to plant base almost a year in July. I've notice I can do so much more. My point, I haven't lost a lot of weight, maybe 7 lbs in almost a year, but now I can do jump squats, jump on trampoline and so many other exercises that I thought I would never do because of my painful knees. So, it's NOT just about weight loss, but the blessing to do what you love at any age without pain stopping you.

I was going through gaining weight eating this way and took a good look at what exactly I was consuming. I cut back a little on the rice, and sugar and now I'm back to losing. Sometimes you just have to be very honest with what you're consuming and start cutting out certain foods, or cutting down until you find what it is that's holding you back. The greens are very important as well as what you put on them. 😊

@salavila92444 жыл бұрын
Tip: Only eat when you're hungry. Try not eating after 6pm. Eat a big bowl of oats and a banana in the morning with a little oat milk..then don't eat until your feel you're hungry again..not mentally hungry, but stomach hungry. Then eat Beans, rice and vegatable, or potatoes...don't worry about having seconds, eat more if you need to... then repeat until you're hungry again...if it's after 6pm try not to eat, drink a water, or eat a piece of fruit if you really need to. You will lose a pound a day.. well, almost..i've lost 26lbs in the the last almost 2 months. NO OIL!! While you're trying to get to your goal weight, stay away from avocados or nuts...save those until after you get to your goal weight. I love Kiki's channel but I don't have the discipline for all her awesome recipes. KEEP IT SIMPLE! Mcdougall says find 3-4 dishes you like and eat the over and over again. I buy can's of whole beans for .99 and keep a few in the car. I have a can opener handy and hot sauce and forks I have with me at all times. Go to Wendy's and order plain baked potatoes, don't have the sour cream or butter, throw them out! I get 2 baked potatoes, one can of beans...and load it with hot sauce...that keeps me satiated for hours..another thing you can do, go to an asian restaurant order steamed rice and vegetables...grab some soy sauce, enjoy to your heart's content. That's how simple I keep it...i haven't got tired of my beans...you an also get a can of whole beans, put in bowl, put in microwave for 2 min...add cilantro/onion, lemon, smoked paprika, hot sauce, and enjoy...you will lose weight. I stopped losing weight for a week, but didn't gain. I just realized I was eating when I wasn't truly hungry.

On your recommendation, I checked out the lecture "How to Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind" last night. It was unlike any other 'diet doctor' lecture I'd heard. I appreciate that he demonstrates the value of making incremental plant-forward changes (in contrast to the all-or-nothing mindset that is so prevalent these days). Love his artwork too! I also picked up Dr. McDougall's "The Starch Solution" and began browsing through that. While I choose not to accept his every suggestion, I think his big-picture concepts are spot-on. This book is so easy to read and understand. I think if I ever meet this man, he's getting a big (post-quarantine) hug! When I was looking over and putting away my groceries this afternoon, it was evident that I've internalize all of this new information. My selections were day/night different (and better) since my last food run - I even chose better snacks! But it didn't seem to require any real conscious effort. It just kind of happened - which is really nice. Who knew that a one-hour (or so) lecture and half-read book could have such a positive impact so quickly? Thank you, Kiki, for the excellent and truly helpful recommendations and for the lovely vids! Keep up the great work.

I just wanted to share that I’m from another country but grew up in the US without any extended family so all of my holiday memories, most of my sleepovers, etc were spent with another immigrant family from a different country who ALWAYS served waffles for breakfast on weekends. We had what they called GOOP on top which was very similar to your banana mixture but varied depending on what fruit was at hand. Not finding the notes I had on it right now but I know they always used bananas and they had apple, stone fruit, and citrus trees in their yard as well as berry bushes. The part I recall from this past holiday season, because we finally talked about it, was the tang. Apparently they always added some citrus juice or a dash of vinegar, which I thought was genius. The goop changed colors and textures a bit based on what they used that day but we always gobbled it up. Sometimes there would be flaked almonds, blueberries, raisins, or coconut flakes to put on top. They kept bees so there was always honey. Some of that might be more helpful for kids and family members who aren’t planning on losing weight but I thought I would mention it. The tiniest drizzle of honey was so yummy and many times we had none and we were still delighted. We are all in our fifties now with kids and grandkids of our own and we went from four families to twelve and we still love goop. Hoping that helps someone create traditions that work for them. By the way, I found out that this was all very intentional on the part of the parents, they were trying to keep the kids off sugar, processed cereals, and eating whole foods. Oh and most of the time this was al fresco, dining outside in a covered patio which was also lovely. Thanks to Kiki for all her plantiful recipes, ideas, and top notch modeling of how to do this in a reasonable, healthy way.

So happy I found your channel! Love it! Off topic, love those candle holders. May inquire as to where you purchased them? 🙏🏻😃❤️
