Yeah with Elspeth conquers death he should still kill Jon's Commander instead. Yes he was desperate, but he needed to make sure Jon not win and cause he focused solely on Steven only Jon wins with a bigger lead (He also was only 1 life so he was dead regardless). I understand Corey's deck weakness is Steven's whole deck, but he needed to target Jon and never did.

Ah yes giving Jon 2 Myriims when hes 12 points ahead of everyone and then 10 second later countering Jeremys (who's by far in last place) commander. I like corey alot but the tradition of letting Jon get away with way too much stuff continues. Jon has way too much freedom and gets to deflect way too much every episode.

Yep, I pointed that out way earlier and none of them have realized. It's amazing how much hes run away with games. Corey and Steven are always at each others throats. And Jeremy is just kinda along for the ride.

Looking back Justin always played plenty of removal to keep anyone of his opponents from running away with the game and typically got rid of things that would be true problems. The big difference between Justin and Corey is threat assessment, Corey is somehow really bad at threat assessment for some who has played competitive magic.

The last 5 videos I've seen he's misplayed multiple cards, ignored cards in his deck that could have helped him, and had horrible threat assessment and it's RUINING this series for most people. Justin needs to come back, we miss him.

As someone whose main deck is shorikai it pains me that Corey didn't understand how the pilots work. They crew for two greater and they are 1/1 so they crew for 3 so you only need 3 not 4

Firstly Corey's reading comprehension makes them think Pilots crew at power 2 instead of 3 (Along with the rest of the crew not catching that, odd no one knows). Then Corey decides to counter Jeremy's commander while he's in last place, rather than Jon's metamorph who's in a commanding lead? I gave up watching this episode at the 23 minute mark. The spite plays rather than the good, and the faux team ups when everyone should be trying to knock Jon out of first make it much less fun to watch.

Hey, editors, how about instead of spending time adding unpopular music, you spend that time putting up the cards properly in the card preview and keeping all the numbers accurate? It's telling that pilots were a standard mechanic last year and none of them know what it does. Corey's counterspell usage was baffling this game. His removal choices were less baffling, but more futile. Jeremy not using Boseiju on the artifact copy of Miirym made me sad mostly because he probably didn't know he could do it because the token wasn't clear. I preferred when the players knew the format staples, decks were in the 5 to 7 power level range with occasional trips outside with everyone on board, they played around the typical EDH "taboos" like 10 minute turns or multiple extra turns in a row, threat assessment wasn't always perfect, but it wasn't wrong consistently throughout an episode. I preferred what we had before and, while I'm still here for now, if the channel decides this is going to continue or lean more into these types of changes I'll probably choose to spend my time on other things. I hope I don't choose that. I've been watching the show for a long time and I'd like to continue.

The points system and season rankings are the one reason I've stuck with this show and hold it in high regard despite how much worse it has gotten in recent years. These aspects are what set it apart from other shows. The point of commander is for the players to get in a game and everyone contribute to a shared goal. For many playgroups that goal is simply play a game of commander. But some groups put their own spin on it, like budget or competitive or additional deck constraints. SCG does a league with points for things beyond just winning and and that's a great example to be putting out into the community. It makes more sense to build for and play games based on that structure.

It's for the content. Corey solo giving Jon the game gives infinite more channel interaction. Also with Corey being a part of pro tour coverage makes him almost un touchable. While we see king making scg sees infinite value. The mtggoldfish teams best moments are were someone let's someone else win the game. Tomer brought up something important recently and it's most games become a 2v1v1. Commander and a ranking system makes everything more forced.

This is also not the first instance of Corey hitting a good target from Stephen, and instead of Stephen hitting something stronger of Jon's, he'll gladly hit something weaker of Corey's

Hey folks. I love the guys and the show, and I’ve been a fan for a while. However, I do have to say the variety this season has been a little disappointing. Corey tends to play the same deck type each week and there’s a weird amount of threat assessment/kingmaking in Jon’s favour. I get the spite plays that occur, particularly from Stephen haha, but it’s beginning to feel less spite play and more the “don’t upset Jon” play from Corey. At this point, it may be worth removing the point system as it doesn’t seem to be relevant and it’s removal may allow for a more casual feel. This only meant to be constructive criticism. As a whole I love the stuff you put out. Thanks for the content!

Corey just has 0 threat assessment in 4 player games, he's literally propped up by SCG as a good player when he obviously doesn't even read the cards in his deck. He has ALWAYS been annoying and propped up by SCG. It's obvious that we're all missing Justin. He is leagues above Corey.

I love watching Commander VS but this season has been the most boring by far too watch. Every episode has been Corey and Stephen get into some minor dispute that takes one or both of them out of the game and Jon gets away with murder and wins. Most of the season I haven't even bothered watching the whole episode because 15 minutes into it it's already clear who's won so I skip to the end and sure enough Jon's won again.

After reading the comments it blows my mind that no one pointed out how the editor was counting Sheoldred's card draw damage as Commander damage even though it wasn't combat damage. I miss Justin...Corey has the maturity of a 7 year old and is usually way too spikey of a player for this group. I think it's also caused others to up the power levels instead of being a more fun and casual group. He also gets so many cards wrong, just my opinion but not a fan of Corey.

Pilot tokens crew as if their power were 2 greater. Which means each pilot crews as if it were a 3 power creature. Meaning it only take 3 to crew Shirokai, not 4.

Man, it was super obnoxious to see Corey get all giddy with Jon winning another game at the end. I can get that he misjudged Miirym power and let it resolve, Jodah can be quite scary. But man am I tired of Jon just running in the lead because no one challenges him. At this point, I think I'd rather they cut the whole point thing, it'd make someone having such a winning streak less annoying.

you should do a sliver episode, where you play all 4 sliver commanders. there are 5 right? First sliver, Overlord, Hivelord, Legion and queen? Morophon doesn't count, so one will be left out and when you build the decks, you are not allowed to have the other commanders in the 99 :)

Miirym is an absurd card. I was so hyped for him when he was spoiled, I immediately built the deck to replace my Lathliss deck. But it was much less fun than expected, definitely not aimed at my LGS's power level. So I nerfed the deck by including only Forgotten Realms/Baldur's Gate cards. It's still hilariously powerful. That said, Jodah is an absurd card, too. But I increasingly dislike Jon's spikey playstyle and Corey's seemingly random thread assessment. Sorry boys, the group's dynamics have changed for worse. I find myself enjoying other Commander content more.

The Terror of the peaks does in fact see each other enter, so the OG will have three triggers, then each of the other three will have two triggers. 15+10+10+10=45 damage.

They do not all see one another since they're made by separately resolving triggers. If it was a single effect creating them all they would see each other. They see in order.

Ok can we talk about how dumb of a move it was for corey to let jon have 2 myriims but countered jodah. Ah yes i let the guy have the thing that will net him 4 dragons for the price of 1, but ill counter the thing that gives the other guy 2 creatures for the price of 1. Not to mention mryiim has ward so itll be even harder to remove both of them before jon can do anything, ive played against Myriim and as soon as you let them do anything the game is on a clock and you have to kill Myriim as soon as possible. Him letting Jon have TWO was game right then and there.

I think they are inaccurately assigning the Sheoldred draw trigger damage as commander damage

@@Misadon92 I agree but also if that's true why are they putting it all under stevens name instead of assigning that damage to the player. it's very weird, from later in the video when Jon attacks Steven with his commander they put the damage under Jons name. Like, that's wrong.. Jon didn't receive 6 commander damage.
