Ample not realizing the temples were being taken down was a huge mistake. Likewise with right-clicking on the natural in the bottom left. And again with only having a single marine in the bottom right so he barely had any defense against the lings on the map. And I forgot about the biggest mistake of all. Sending the wraith on a suicide mission to kill a single overlord and just forgetting about it. When it could have literally won him the game had he just tucked it away in the corner and forgotten about it instead. Crazy.

I've noticed something strange like this too. in the early game when there are so few stuff in the game, their APM is so high. So when it got to that stalemate stage after the base trade, when many stuff died off, you'd think that having less stuff on the map allows them to focus more of their attention... but that's not the case from what I've observed. There is an attention dip that I can't explain.

@@kellereclub3828 I don’t think it is an attention dip. If you’ve ever played a game competitively you know that a ton of the game is like riding a bike - you just have to know exactly what you will do in advance. Even pro gamers can look like newbies when they are in new or uncommon situations. That is almost always when the biggest flubs occur.

@@chuckwalla123 Speaking of competitive play - I also noticed that they tend to be technical. Like you said, knowing what to do in advance like practising 10-year series exams questions. Technical meaning they do the same set of things in order like clockwork and do them especially well. I noticed that because of this, they run like a script and possibly due to pressure can't think outside or see the bigger picture or longer term that an outside observer could.

​@@kellereclub3828 The lowering of APM is not necessarily a bad thing. It Could mean that they are totally lost and feeling defeated, but a large part is literally just trying to fully grasp what is going on. At those points there are so many variables and stuff all over the map that they are essentially like a medic in a battle doing a triage, trying to stem the bleed and take actions as fast as they can. Yeah, and like you said, how well they can see through the pressure is especially critical here.

I also think the Valkyries where very underused. He could have killed the low hp overlord and also sent them around the map to scout for other overlords, effectively supply blocking Zerg much more.

For everyone asking about the DRAW - No, Ample could not force the draw here ZeLoT had a hatchery making. Solutions he had: -Build an evo and spore colony to protect overlords spawning -Mine until he can spam out hatcheries as hatcheries give 1 supply. He could kill off units to make this faster.

Omg what a game!! GG, my heart was pounding! So why did we not use valks forever? I recall they used to be glitched where only a certain amount of attacks could be stacked o the screen or something. Does anyone recall the exact reason? Also valks make vs mutas so much easier now. 2 valks just crush, and if u can get up to 3, its so op. Crazy we finally have a decent unit after 20 years lol

You essentially have it right, but technically it had to do with sprites displayed, and the Valkyrie producing an absurd amount of individual sprites. Plus, the slide/glide micro with the valks, which allow them to shoot and move backwards towards their bio, is a more recent development I believe. I don't know if this is due to the new turn rate or not, someone else will have to speak on that.

Shit... I think that not killing that almost-dead overlord, the forgotten wraith that died and those marines targeting the hatch and diying to the lings, were big mistakes that made a huge differencce in the game.

Soo many small mistakes from Ample, unfortunately. Losing units, not being active enough with others. It all added up. Still, that Muta contain to Lurker transition is sooo strong. How does one stop this?

Historically Valkyries didn’t get used often because if you guessed Mutas and Zerg makes Lurkers, you’re screwed. Meanwhile, Vessels work against both Mutas and Lurkers. So it seems that Terran might need to go back to surviving long enough to get Vessels and Irradiate.

Awesome game! Some good ideas by Ample, but overall better execution by Zealot. It must be so hard to switch from a normal game - doing a ton of stuff at once - to really focusing on key units in a base trade. Those crucial mistakes by Ample hurt. Awesome game, though!

Spoilers! Zelot can make an evo chamber a creep colony and a spore to stop supply blocks, and had killed ample completely except some flying buildings potentially
